Program Design Assignment FINISHED PRODUCT - And here is my finished program design.  This took quite a long time to complete and a lot of playing around but I am quite happy with how it looks.  Again there are a few things I would have liked to change maybe if I had more time but I am quite happy with my finished product and how far it has come.

Also side note, my poster seems to have changed slightly through the uploading process and I’m not entirely sure why.

WORK IN PROGRESS Poster and Program Assignment: Here is how I have edited my poster after talking to my tutor in class.  I needed to fix it so that the writing was legible but still having the effect I wanted.  It took a while to play around with it as we weren’t sure whether it was the writing or the background that needed to be altered.  I’m quite happy with it now and I really like the purple and how it affects the background.  I think the purple suits it quite well and came from inspiration from my tutor suggesting I add a colour like how each of the books is a bold colour.

WORK IN PROGRESS Poster and Program Assignment: Our next assignment for PDT is to make a poster and program for something.  It can be anything we want we just have to make sure that the program is a minimum of four pages.  I decided to do the new play that is coming out Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and advertise it as if it was coming out in cinemas as well as being performed on stage.  Over the weekend I started to create the poster.  I found it difficult to create the background as I knew what I wanted but I didn’t know how to make it.  I spent a lot of time fiddling in Photoshop and it is still not exactly how I would like it but it is closer than when I started.  I also experimented with the colour of the font as the colours I wanted didn’t really stand out against my choice of background.  I was lucky to find the font for Harry Potter and was able to manipulate it to what I wanted.  I’m still working on parts of the poster but I’m happy with how far I have gotten over the weekend.

Video Editing Assignment FINISHED PRODUCT - I finished my video and I’m quite proud of it as at the start I had no idea how to use Final Cut Pro X or what I should make a video on.  For a stop motion it isn't the smoothest and a couple of shots weren’t in focus but overall I believe it is a very good first attempt at making a video.  It was interesting learning how to colour correct video footage and I learnt a lot about the process of making a video.  I’m also happy with the sound effects I created and how they work with the music I found.

WORK IN PROGRESS Video Editing Assignment - Here is my almost finished video.  I colour corrected all the shots which took a lot of time.  I had to break up some of the videos as they needed different colour balances since the lighting in my room changed throughout the day as I was shooting the videos.  I feel like I got the hang of editing the colour balance of the shots quite well and I think most of them look quite good.  I also put in the sound effects and music and they work quite well.  I’m quite happy with how the sound effects turned out and they add a nice touch to the video.

WORK IN PROGRESS Video Editing Assignment - Today I created all the sounds for my video myself.  I liked doing this because it sounded a lot better than any of the sounds I found online as it suited my exact shots a lot better.  I am not sure how it will it turn out but I am quite happy with it so far.  I also found suitable music on SoundCloud to play in the background as well.  I felt my video needed music to make it slightly more interesting and add to the mood of it.

WORK IN PROGRESS Video Editing Assignment - Our new assignment for PDT is to edit a video using Final Cut Pro X.  I decided to do a Stop Animation Film because I felt that would be the most enjoyable for me as I do not know a lot about making videos but I like drawing and animation.  I did all the shots over the last couple of days using the Stop Motion Studio app and now I have started to put the video together.  I have finished putting all the videos into order after cutting them and moving them around.  Next I have to edit the quality of the videos (colour balance, etc.) and find some music.  It is coming together quite well so far.

WORK IN PROGRESS Poster and Program Assignment: I have started to work on the second part of the assignment, the program.  I have most of the information and photos I need, I just need to start formatting it in a visually pleasing way.  I also need to start making the images I am going to place in the spaces.  I’m quite happy with what I have so far though and it is looking pretty good.

WORK IN PROGRESS Video Editing Assignment - This is some of my videos that I have so far for my video editing assignment for PDT.  I have been using the app Stop Motion Studio to create the videos and then I exported them to my computer.  Creating the videos was a very long process as stop motion takes a lot of time and effort.  It was very energy draining but I’m glad I did it and I hope once I edit the videos it will look good all together, I think it will.

Mood Board for ‘The White Earth’ FINISHED PRODUCT - For our Illuminations class we were asked to create a mood board for one of the plays we had read.  I had chosen to do ‘The White Earth’ as I found it the most interesting play and I liked the directions you could go with the design for it as it was Australian and Gothic.  I ended up focusing on the Australian landscape as my idea for the design as I felt the land was a crucial part of the play.  I thought that making the set out of the landscape would be interesting as it would highlight the importance of the land to both groups of people in the people.  I enjoyed making the mood board because I like finding images that inspire me in how I think something should be designed.

ISMs Project FINISHED PRODUCT - Our Surrealism Installation is finished and this is how it looked when the audience walked through.  There was also sound of phone notifications going on in the background.  Our intention was to show to our audience how social media and technology is dominating our minds leaving us feeling isolated as we are no longer connecting to people face to face but through a screen.  I am very proud with how our installation turned out, especially the back wall which had many of my ideas.

WORK IN PROGRESS ISMs Project - Today was Bump In.  The Installation came together well and I was impressed how well our initial ideas turned out.  It was a lot of work to get everything done but altogether it created our desire effect of showing how the inside of a person’s mind is dominated by social media and technology which can feel quite isolating.  Hopefully our audience will feel that way.

WORK IN PROGRESS ISMs Project - Today we painted on the Phone Face and Distorted Social Media Apps onto the Dreamscape background.  I’m really happy with how they turned out and I think they tie into our ideas about social media and Surrealism really well.

WORK IN PROGRESS ISMs Project - Today our group started creating our installation.  We painted two canvases in our dreamscape idea inspired by Sally Mustang.  We also created some of our hanging objects for when our audience walks through our installation to make it feel like they are walking through a cluttered mind.  We made Facebook Like Buttons and Entangled Phones to tie in with our social media idea and how it affects the human mind by occupying it so much.  I felt like our ideas were starting to come together as we were making these parts of it.

WORK IN PROGRESS ISMs Project - For our ISMs project we thought it would be interesting to have distorted social media apps in the dreamscape as well.  This is the first sketch I did for the group.  I thought it would be interesting to have some of them recognisable and some of them hardly recognisable at all as they are so familiar that making them unfamiliar would tie in well with Surrealism, I felt.  We also decided that if we used colour for the apps and black for the Phone Face it would help them be more recognisable and stand out.
