Playing with my favourite pieces, while working on some new designs to be 3D printed and cast in silver. After casting, each piece is cleaned up, all the fittings, like the brooch backs, ring shanks, and bangles are made by hand and soldered on, the polished, oxidised and gold-plated. . . . #jewellery #jewelry #black #gold #pink #fashion #statementring #brooch #bangle #design #contemporaryjewellery #silver #craft #3dprinted #handmadeinengland #geometry #geometric #lines #blackandgold #Liverpool #amorajoyas #acjewellery

The METROPOLIS Collection 2015 by Charlotte Tracy
These pieces were my graduate collection for my degree, inspired by the architecture of London, made from oxidised and gold-plated silver.
I had some pieces 3D printed and then cast, and other pieces I fabricated completely from sheet and wire. Each piece also features an engraved underside.

2016
So far 2016 has gotten off to a slow start. I only sat down at my bench every now and then, until I got an email from Destreza Designs about the Future Makers exhibition at the Manchester Craft and Design Centre, which runs until 29th May. I had a short deadline for this, so it gave me the motivation I needed to get back at the bench and make! It was stressful, but I loved being back at the bench.
It also made me determined to meet more people in jewellery / design community and get involved in as many things as I could. Whether it's participating in exhibitions, going to them, or attending events, like the Cutting It event at the Bluecoat Liverpool last Thursday.
The Cutting It event was organised by the Hand Engravers Association, and was a chance for people to see engravers in action and have a go themselves. It was lovely to chat to the associations engravers and learn from them as well as the other participants! It took me a few goes to get back into the swing of engraving, but once I got into the zone, I couldn't wait to do more. It's definitely a skill that needs a lot of practice and patience. I would definitely go again.
Besides going to the Cutting It event, I also joined the Association for Contemporary Jewellers (ACJ) and can be found in the members section.
Now that I've got my motivation back, I have quite a bit planned for 2016.
Number One is to do at least one craft/jewellery fair!
Number Two is to create and perfect some of the designs I've been sketching up since New Designers, now that I've got most of the tools I need to make some pieces.
Number Three is to get more of my metropolis collection cast and made.
Number Four is to photograph some of the pieces I made for Future Makers
I'll check back in a month to see if I've accomplished any of my aims or if I have anything exciting to show!

Since New Designers
It's been about two weeks since I came back from New Designers and three since the degree show, were I met and spoke to some lovely people, and was even talent Spotted by Manchester Craft & Design. After I got back, I found out I got a FIRST! I know most people would say it made their all the time they spent worth it, but in my case I think it made all the money I spent on materials and tools worth it! Especially since I didn't have funding for any of it. And I know I'll probably be spending just as much time on my new pieces in the future.
I'm currently in the process of getting a little home studio or bench together, and trying to figure out the best way to open an online shop, for the pieces I've already made.
In the meantime I've been sketching up some new designs, some not so chunky, slimmer pieces and some pieces that would be perfect for men, as I was told quite frequently that my work was quite masculine. I've also been thinking about how I can improve my current designs, and possibly add silver necklaces rather than the silicone rubber I currently use.
Look forward to some new work over the next few months, I'll keep you posted.
