Six Easy Steps to Volunteer Abroad
Ever thought of volunteering abroad? Here are six easy steps to turn your dreams into a reality.
Define your goals
If you don’t first set out your goals, you will never know if you have achieved them. Look at projects that you find appealing, decide where you want to go and what you want to do.
2. Acknowledge your fears
The number one cause for people not volunteering abroad is fear. Fear of going to a foreign place without people that you know can be a scary thing. If you pick the right agency they will make you feel secure in your new temporary home.
3. Research
Without first researching the area where you will be going, the task you need to complete, and the agency sponsoring you, a final decision should not be made.
4. Budget and Save
Traveling across the world can sometimes cost a pretty penny. You need to budget your money to make your trip feasible.
5. Connect
One of the most amazing parts of traveling abroad is meeting so many like minded, ambitious, and curious people. You can connect with people from all different walks of life, that have came together to make a change.
6. Plan the details
You need to have backup plans, in case something goes wrong once you have reached your destination. You need to have contact information of people from your agency that will be in the same area as you are, you never know when you might need them.
If you follow these easy steps it will allow you to have a fun and positive experience!

That looks really good! I love peppermint bark. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this recipe.
Peppermint Brittle
Hello everyone! Pictures are posted at the bottom.
Fist things first the recipe that I used for this holiday snack-http://allrecipes.com/recipe/9461/peppermint-brittle/?internalSource=staff%20pick&referringId=187&referringContentType=recipe%20hub&clickId=cardslot%203
I have brought the deserts back for another round. This time, because Christmas is literally around the corner, I have made a quick and easy snack that is great for bringing to parties this holiday. Even if you aren’t a party goer yourself, you can still make this for yourself.
Now for the opinion portion of the post. I am a very big fan of the normal peanut butter brittle, so making it with peppermints instead had me intrigued when I first laid my eyes onto this recipe.
I was skeptic at first, but when I got everything together, it was magical. Every bite was filled with the amazing taste of peppermints and white chocolate. Both ingredients twisted into each other like the red and white of a peppermint candy cane.
There was only one downside. I know what you are thinking, “How could there be any down side to something that is this awesome?” I know it is terrible but it is true. The thing that brought this down for me was that it was extremely rich with how much white chocolate that it has in it. I could only have a little at a time, but other than that one glitch, this recipe was amazing. You guys really need to try this out for yourselves and send me the results of what you have have made.
And as always thank you for reading, and I will catch you guys next post!

I never would have thought of this change in plot but it is very interesting to think about!
Twist
I am going to put a twist into the blog. I have been putting history about each of the two topics but today I am going to put the two together and tell how they could interconnect. Just think that if Harry Potter had been a Horror movie and what it had been like.First it would have been great and second nothing can really change Harry Potter because it is great as it is,but I would like to talk about how they can be connected to each other today.
One way you could connect them together is to make Harry as a Slytherin and make Dumbledore as a death eater who is persuading Harry to be on the dark side.As for the ghost in the castle are all people who have suffered a horrible death and are out to get all the children or professors who all oppose of Dumbledore. As for the golden trio do they same but they are all death eaters who are sided with Dumbledore and are trying along with Dumbledore to be the most powerful and evil rulers in the wizarding history. As for Lord Voldemort is sided with the good side and is trying to become the most powerful wizard in the wizarding world, but is also trying to make the wizarding world a place full of just wizards where no one is sided with anyone;everyone is just a good wizzrd or witch who is there to full fill the dreams of others.
Just think if all that could happen in Harry Potter.Hope you enjoy!

I didn’t know any of these facts, but they are very interesting!
15 Interesting Facts about Photography

I love the Harry Potter series! This is really interesting to know what happened behind the scenes.
You ever wondered what it would be like behind the scenes of Harry Potter, well know you’ll know. Behind the scenes was really cool and interesting for the cast of the movie. As for Daniel Radcliff he had to go through eighty wand and one hundred and fifty prop glasses because he broke them all.The first time Daniel met the actor playing Sirius Black, the actor gave him a guitar because he knew how much Daniel loved music.Tom Feltons robe pockets had to be sewn shut because he kept on sneaking food onto the set.Someone based Dobbys ears off of a dog that an actor had been sneaking on the set. This shows you how much being on the set was fun and had happy moments for the characters on the set.

Very useful information, thanks for sharing!
Do’s and Don’ts in photography
1.) Do learn to shoot in Manual Mode- This may seem obvious but many skip over the very basics of making an image great. Good light and good composition. Modern cameras have very good auto and auto assist modes. Auto mode is fine for who just wants a greater resolution image.
2.) Do invest in Quality Instructions- Photography isn’t a cheap hobby or profession by any means. The entry level DSLRs are so good that just 5-6 years ago they would be considered top notch pro level cameras with the features and performance they mow pack in them.
3.) Do learn post Processing- Like learning photo basics, there are some things with Post Processing that you need to first learn in order to use the tools effectively. Take some throw away images and play around with them. You may be surprised with what you come up with
4.) Do use the equipment you have to its full potential- You don’t always have to but that new camera because you think it takes better pictures. You can take pictures on any camera and it look great. Although today’s equipment is very nice and really good, instead of buying that new camera you don’t need buy you something else that you really need like a tripod that will lock and isn’t going anywhere.
5.) Do get your flash off camera- Nothing will improve your images more than adding off camera lighting to your images. Directional off camera flash will allow you to enhance depth, textures, detail, etc.
1.) Don’t Compare your work too others- First when you take pictures you are doing in because you love it and someone else takes pictures because they love it. So don’t try to compare your images to someone else’s. Take the image because you want to take the image.
2.) Don’t let location keep you from shooting- Don’t ever say “If only I were there I would get amazing images!” You can take great pictures from anywhere you want and they can look great. The only thing you need is a camera and a creative idea.
3.) Don’t think you need to buy expensive speed light- You don’t need to spend a bunch of money on lights. You can take pictures with the cheapest light you have and it come out a good picture.
4.) Don’t be a photo know it all- It’s fine to say you know a little about this and that but don’t really say you know everything about photography because you don’t know everything that’s out there about it.
5.) Don’t under value good glass- Digital photography is a high tech and very fast moving industry. Why? Because electronics and computer technology are always improving.

I never would have thought of it like that, I like how you put it into a relatable time frame.
Hello pals, friends, people of the internet! Today we’re going to be discussing future time travel! Time traveling to the future is relatively less complicated at its basis. To go into the future you would have to move close to or faster than the speed of light. For those of you who aren’t aware, the speed of light is roughly 186,000 miles per second. To put that in perspective, if you were traveling that fast it would take you 134 milliseconds to get around Earth’s equator, 1.3 seconds to get to the Moon from Earth, and about 8.3 minutes to get to the Sun from Earth. So let’s just go with fast.
Ok so you would have to go into space in order to perform this future time hop. You would have to build a machine capable of going nearly 186,000 miles per second (Which is probably impossible by the way). So you travel outwards for six months and travel back towards earth for six months and when you get back exactly one year has lapsed for you. On Earth however, many more than 1 year has lapsed. Depending on how close you were traveling to the speed of light depends on how long you travel into the future. I saw a very good way of explaining this; say if you only want to travel one year in time think of it in heartbeats. The example is you leave someone on Earth and you travel 10 minutes at this extremely high speed. You only experience roughly 800 heartbeats in this period but your person on Earth experiences something like 44 million heartbeats.

In 2014, the Bureau of Labor Statistics recorded a ten year low, of volunteers. So why are fewer people volunteering? Are there fewer opportunities? The opportunities for volunteers are becoming more and broader every year. If you can not volunteer you should encourage others to do so. It is a rewarding activity. People are becoming busier, more selfish, and less caring. Society has everyone in such a fast paced lifestyle. If people were to slow down and think of the less fortunate, the volunteer numbers would increase drastically. When we let our selfish egos get in the way of our actions, the result is fewer compassionate gestures. Without volunteers many places in the world would go without necessities. There is no excuse to not volunteer. The many categories offer an activity that appeals to each and every person. The first question you should ask yourself is whether you want to work with people, animals, or by yourself? If you want to work with animals you could do things such as tag turtles and elephants, care for baby animals, or simply fight for animal rights. If you want to work with people you could help in schools or soup kitchens. Finally if you wanted to work by yourself you could perform experiments and collect data to help with conservation.

Do you have what it takes?
What does volunteering abroad actually do for you? Some say it gives you a sense of accomplishment; being able to do something for someone or something that they originally could not do for themselves. It not only gives you the opportunity to experience new things but also allows you to learn. It allows you to walk in someone else’s shoes; to complete their daily tasks or simply see what life is like wherever they may be from. As it is easy to see their are many rewards associated with volunteering abroad. If you reap all of these things, what does it require? Well of course it requires time and effort. Being comfortable with yourself allows you to pursue things that might not be easy, when you are at peace with who you are it makes it easier to put yourself out there and learn new things and also experience them. You need to be able to put someone or something else’s needs before your own. You need to be dedicated because you might experience situations that are frightening or uncomfortable. Also while volunteering you may become discouraged. At the end of the day you are just one person, so how much progress can you actually make? When you think about things negatively they tend to affect you negatively. If you were to think of all the positives you would become encouraged and possibly encourage more people to take on rolls such as your own. In conclusion if you have a heart for serving and a desire to learn, you have what it takes to volunteer abroad. Please visit the link to learn more about the details of what it takes. http://www.goabroad.com/articles/volunteer-abroad/do-you-have-what-it-takes-to-volunteer-abroad
