It’s so much easier to abandon and break out from the cultural idealisation of youth when you surround yourself with wonderful people in all stages of their lives.

Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean [FANDUB]  - Episode 2, Part 3

With help from Palolo III, Kalas successfully breaks into the Rodolfo’s mansion with the intention of sneaking onto Giacomo’s battleship. During his mission, he unwittingly frees two prisoners, a gambling addict named Aljeemo, and Xelha, and not a moment too soon...! The time has finally come. Kalas faces his archnemesis at last, but will he be strong enough to best him? Or will he slip away once again?

Had some very large hiccups along the way, but with the Fall 2024 season comes the long-awaited finale of Episode 2! When we meet again, we'll be in Diadem!

I had to render this twice and it took 90 minutes because I accidentally forgot to include a *very important* cast member in the credits, can't have that! Hope you all enjoy, and thank you for watching!

My actors generally do a fantastic job, but they absolutely slayed this episode, and I could not be more proud.

In absence of any artsy feelings let me plug the Baten Kaitos Wiki that I've been working on for the past few months.

Starting small today, here's one of the first bosses from Eternal Wings. I did a lot of work removing the background from all of the concept art images, setting up article formatting, and creating a layout for attack info that is hopefully easy to interpret!!

Here's a reminder to fight the internalized sanism/ableism in your head.

If you have executive dysfunction, don't compare your productivity to people who don't.

If you have anhedonia, don't compare your struggling to keep up with hobbies to someone who doesn't.

If you have paranoia, don't think of your fears as any less valid than the fears of someone who doesn't.

If your meds make you tired constantly, don't compare your energy levels to someone who doesn't take those meds.

If you have issues with concentration, then you won't be able to pay attention as well as someone who doesn't.

If you're in the deep end of a pool, then you can't compare how well you keep your head above water to someone who is standing in a kiddie pool.

Please try to think of these things when you feel "lazy" or "childish" or "a failure" compared to other people that don't struggle with the same symptoms as you. If you have a mental illness that will affect how you act in everyday situations, then it will in fact affect you in everyday situations. It's not an excuse, it's just a reality. We need to try to be kinder to ourselves.

What if an Orpheus and Eurydice retelling but with Lloyd and Colette instead?

Colette has died, and her body has been taken to Welgaia, otherwise known as Heaven. Lloyd can't accept her death so he heads for the Tower of Salvation, the only way that connects both planes of the living and the dead.

He gets help along the way from a stranger called Kratos, who leads him to the tower, and who seems to know more than he lets on. But once they arrive, Kratos disappears. Lloyd has to travel up alone, finding coffins that float within the space of the tower, fighting strange automatons made of steel.

But he keeps going, because he wants to bring Colette back home.

And when he finally finds Colette up at the very top, unresponsive, soulless, but she's here, he also meets Yggdrasill. He's stubborn to let go at first, after all she already has her wings, which means she's now part of this realm. But then this ruler of Welgaia decides instead to give him a trial: lead Colette down the tower, and she will regain her soul. She will be truly alive again. Except, Lloyd can't turn around. Not even once.

Lloyd doesn't trust Yggdrasill, but he can't fight him. And if there's a chance to save Colette, he'll take it. So he leads Colette down the tower, dreaming of the moment they'll go back home, together.

The tower gets darker the further they leave Welgaia, and soon, nothing else makes any sound or movement. He only hears himself. He doesn't even hear Colette breathe. Is she there?

And it's such a long way down...
