I've published my second book, Year Mark, on my website kpedscreates.com. If you want to read queer urban fantasy with a lot of vampires, dark humor, and an MC who would just like to be Left Alone but keeps getting pulled into Shenanigans™️, then this might be the series for you.

I think about this all the time. They show it once in "The Bank Job" where the corrupt judge just gets written off because of how terrible he is. How did Kanack explain the aliens? Because half the time they also don't know how they got found out or fucked over, either.
a delightful part of leverage to me is also how much of the stuff they pull off is so insane that if the marks try to explain how they ended up in that situation noone ever believes them because who the fuck would even do something like that. they get away with it just because of that so often and it's awesome

i hate how you get desensitized to the cool stuff in your WIP if you've been writing it for a long time so when you read back over it you're like "this isn't as cool as i thought :(" but it still is! you just read it too many times

Every time you create is practice. It'll be practice forever. Thinking of that helps me appreciate the things I create now.
Friendly reminder to not punish yourself for creating.

Let's also talk about how Alec made orange soda beer that was vile. Presumably the man likes beer. He had to have known. Or him making Eliot walk around with the satellite transmitter and basically doing the Cha Cha Slide. Also the plot-but-also-somehow-a-side-plot of The Sandwich. Every single side plot for Hardison is just to knowingly piss of Eliot while also being shocked that Eliot is mad.
#why is Harrison always shocked that Eliot is mad #he knows what he's doing
leverage truly has some of the most random side plots. sophie can't stand midwestern food until she gets hungry enough to understand the appeal of pork rinds. parker gets put on antidepressants and experiences one episode of being sociable and happy. parker overcomes her fear of horses which she has because as a child she witnessed a horse beat a clown to death (to be clear, a murder committed by a man dressed as a horse, not an accident involving a real horse). actually parker mostly just seems to be experiencing different emotional stakes than everyone else

I need to know what background she gave them about herself because they trust her so much. Why did they agree to be fake workers for the would-be Walmart?
It cracks me up that one of Sophie’s main assets in season 5 is her improv group that a) never asks any questions and b) is always down for any and all shenaniganery. Who are these people. Why are they here. I love them.

"James Somerton plagiarized his butthole" is a sentence that would only make sense in 2024 and I'm so fucking angry that I know what it means

I've published my completed first book on my new website for anyone interested in queer, leftist urban fantasy featuring vampires, trauma, and an ongoing non-hentai tentacle joke that never goes anywhere. I'll be publishing my series on it as I complete rewriting my books. I have 15 thus far, and 2.5 rewritten.

Ok so this has been brewing in my brain for a minute and I have to get this out.
Nathan Ford is a malinois. He’s intimidatingly intelligent and intensely focused. Structure is Necessary.
Sophie Devereaux is a standard poodle. Old world class and sophistication with a foundation of hunting dog intelligence. Versatile and able to get along with everyone, but always with a cool detachment.
Eliot Spencer is a pit bull. No pain receptors, just solid muscle and a willingness to use it, especially in defense of his people. Also loves food.
Alec Hardison is a border collie. Entirely too smart for anyone’s good. Capable of great mischief, but highly effective when properly directed.
Parker is a feral coyote that just happened to fall in with the pack and has zero domesticated chill. Clever, ruthless, and sharp all over. Twenty pounds of crazy in a five pound bag.
