unfortunately, due to budget cuts, the pokémon assigning quiz has been canceled. instead, you must spin THE WHEEL, assigning you a random, unevolved, non-legendary and non-mythical pokémon. you must now go on some sort of world-saving adventure as this pokémon. good luck!

tell me in the tags what you rolled, and how you feel about it - for bonus points, you can spin the wheel again for (or just take your pick of) a pokémon to be your partner.

bonus rules:

you're not shiny unless the wheel tells you you're shiny

take your pick of regional forms and evolutions (for example, if you roll vulpix, it's up to you whether that means normal or alolan vulpix)

My headcannons

Wigglytuff is genuinely like that, but is FAR more aware than he let's on because he doesn't care about appearing aware.

Chatot cares first about the guild always. Chatot is always sick of Wigglytuff's bs, but they have each other's back as best friends.

Team skull died in brine cave.

Grovyle would actually rather live a quiet life. Grovyle would reciprocate Celebi's advance's if he ever noticed them, but he's to focused on the mission tm to notice.

The future crew are erased (I played darkness not sky).

Hero and partner are VERY in love like Gomez and Morticia level. Hero is terrible at figuring out what to do and basically needs a quest log to function, like in most video games. Partner acts as basically a quest despenser BECAUSE THAT'S THE ONLY WAY HE CAM FUNCTION. Partner still has low confidence alone. Hero picks up and provides Partner confidence. Neither can function alone.

Something I love about PMD fandom contributions is that we all have a shared experience through this game and yet every contribution is so unique because everyone has their own Hero/Partner team and so many of us reflect ourselves onto those characters, which then influences the character dynamics throughout the whole game. How YOU personally feel about Chatot, or Team Skull, or Wigglytuff, or Dusknoir, Grovyle hell literally anyone will colour how you present the dynamics in the game. I think thats so fun and beautiful.

Spoiler warning for pkmd Explorers This fits my idea of the dark future. Nothing is growing, they're running on whatever is already grown. The only reason the food is still around IS BECAUSE IT'S FROZEN. The paralysis is what's preserving it. My head cannon is that several pokémon have resorted to cannibalism. There is no energy left in the system any more and death is spreading up the food chain (I'm pretty sure no herbivores are encountered in any of the future outings, maybe that's why). No wonder he said that world wasn't worth living in.

I was gonna wait to post this but ah, who cares.

Headcanon time again: Gecko is a grass type and due to the lack of sunlight or anything ALIVE around, he's smaller than most grass types and he... Really isn't in peak condition. The closest thing he has to the sun in his life are the Sunny orbs and since they are relatively rare he has to ration them.

Since he's not the strongest around he learnt to make use of his small size to dodge, as well as using a lot of items in an out of the box kind of way... Including (a lot) of luminous orbs because even after they catch up to his tactics they are still rather effective against ghost types.

Headcanon: Grovyle's diet ended up consisting of plain Seeds more often than not which have… zero nutritious value. Every time he found something big and juicy to eat he always tucked It away inside his bag so he could give it to their little partner… Or at the very least share It with Celebi, who kept insisting she could find her own food.

Even then he had a bit of a tendency to try to save food because there wasn't that much to go around, and not all the pokemon that were helping him were strong enough to go into Dungeons to get things, so he'd keep things and hand them to the rest afterwards.

……. To try to make this post less sad, after the game ended Grovyle discovered he had a sweet tooth and Celebi would always hunt down new things especially for him to try, so she could see his eyes light up…. Dusknoir got roped into the shenanigans as well not too long after, probably.
