On n'a pas de bol / We're out of luck.
(Lyrics: Marwa Loud - Bad Boy)

(Disclaimer: Yes, I'm aware my translation isn't 100% accurate. It's cause I was going for translating the "essence" rather than the words literally).

Reminder that comics are different than writing. Yes it seems obvious, but is actually not as obvious as you believe.
Because in writing comics, especially comics that have subtletese, like Norgami, (my favorite manga of all time) you need to pay attention to whats happening visually too, not just what the characters are saying. There can be some visual transitions like characters getting taller over time, which can only be noticed in drawings, not writing.
In fact in some cases you need to pay more attention their drawings and care less about what they're saying: that's the reason we can still enjoy comics in a foreign language, that hasnt been translated.
The drawings are there for a reason: that means you dont just look at what the characters are saying, but also what they are doing, how they are visually changing too. They might try to act confident but their body language is anxious. That is why you need to pay attention to both the drawings and the writings.
Some profressionals will make it so subtle you need to go back a few pages or chapters to actually notice a difference. I personally really like subtle changes across multiple chapters / pages. I try to do these things myself, but since I'm not a pro these subtletese will go unnoticed. An example is in my recent manga of trans Basil, Basil starts of small / same hight as Sunny pre-transition, but gets a bit taller than Sunny after transition. No one noticed that, which makes me sad that I need to point it out to make it obvious.
But that's why I'm making this post.
I'm hoping more people will catch on to subtle differences in my comics from now on, since it's something I really enjoy doing, and is inspired by my fav mangas like Noragami.

My lil pet peeve.
Whenever you read fics of intimacy between Sunny & Basil, Basil is seen as...
I cant find the proper words to explain it.
Too pure, but also wanting Sunny to ruin him one way or another.
And even when the fics try to make them on equal level, they just can't.
I don't know if it has to do with the whole traditional top/bottom mentality that doesn't exist in modern BL anymore.
Modern BL mangas with top/bot dynamics don't use this submissive / dominant trope as much anymore. There is less power imbalance, nowadays its a lot more healthy, but I think fanfic writers are kinda lagging behind in this regard, they stick to the more traditional sub/dom imagery. (that's what kinda rubs me the wrong way, personally.)
A great example is Cherry Magic, and its the reason why its so popular both within non BL fans and BL fans alike! If a BL can be popular even outside the BL fandom, you know it's doing something right! ^-^
I really recommend watching/reading Cherry Magic if you haven't already.
And it's also why I also try my best to introduce people to more healthy intimacy. As someone with bad sexual experience, I personally feel the need to see more of healthy intimacy in my stories.
(Also, healthy intimacy can also mean 'unpacking trauma', so you can have a moment where one of your characters has needs that don't seem quite healthy at first, but then by unpacking their trauma they learn to overcome it together. That's one example of healthy intimacy that doesn't seem healthy at first. The health part is how your partner reacts to it.)
Disclaimer: no hate to anyone who writes top/bot kinds of stories, you do you. It's just my personal pet peeve for personal reasons.

Based on the fic I did.
There's an actual reason behind the divinity aspect.
By making it 'divine or heavenly', it's my way to fight against the 'sinful view' people have of intimacy.

-
Author's Note: Once again, another song inspired art. This one, while not particularly political, hits in some way for me. I'm not sure exactly how to explain it, so I just decided to make an art to represent my feelings.

Docteur,

-
Author's Note: This is one of my favs! <33
Obviously it's inspired by the song, but most importantly what the song say: how "love" is just seen as superficial by most people, and denounces it. That's what I'm all about:
Denouncing people's toxic concept of love!
Trying to liberate American's purity culture, one step at a time.

If you know my art, you'll recognize me right away, which is fine, I'm not trying to hide it.
I made this side blog to challenge society's (but mostly American's) view on intimacy.
I realized something recently.
I come from a background where intimacy isn't viewed as something bad or disgusting. However the American norm is to see it that way. (I'm thankful to live in Europe where intimacy isn't viewed in such a screwed way).
I've been looking forever for a positive depiction of intimacy, but could never find it... And I was very annoyed. How are people gonna learn what nontoxic intimacy looks like if we can't even find it? Especially as someone who was sexually abused, we need it more than ever to tell people what a nontoxic relationship looks like. And that's what made me create this blog.
But more importantly, the problem I have is when intimacy is in fact being shown (like in fanfiction or fanart) it's usually shown in a toxic way. It even made me think at first that I was repulsed by intimacy, when actually I was just repulsed by it's poor depiction. Which obviously made me angry. So ya, I'm making this blog out of spite too.
And so I want to challenge American's purity culture by posting intimacy in a positive light. Maybe someone else will also resonate with this too.

Editing this post since some things have changed.
I am giving myself artistic freedom to address traumatic moments as well. It's mostly to bring trauma to light, out of the shadows.
So from now on it will not be 100% wholesome, it'll be 50/50.
I will put 'tw' in the tags when it deals with trauma. The other ones will be tagged as 'wholesome'. So you can chose which ones you wanna read that way.
But to me it's just as important to show both sides, which why it is my decision is to make it this way.
