Second of the Cheburashka based stuff with Grigory and little Boris! This was a experiment on being able to ‘draw the same thing/style twice’ for consistency in comic art and sudden art style shifts to show mood and tonal shifts. I think it turned out well, but how do you think it looks?

This was a lot of fun to draw and I’ve always loved this joke from Cheburashka, its a very ‘Don’t worry! We’ll make it! Oh, of course, nevermind then…” kind of joke that begins with optimism but ends with the characters disappointed, but is not too overally cynically toned and still very lighthearted, as if the universe is telling you “…nope!” so you gotta find another way. Life’s full of hardships and disappointment, so you may as well continue on! I’m probably going on a ramble but its a type of humour I find very sweet and cute haha.
