        Audio mobile subwoofers were created to address the needs of today’s car audio enthusiasts.  The various, often “mutually-exclusive” parameters that consumers desire, (flexible installation applications, small enclosure requirements, good efficiency, high power handling, fast transient performance, subsonic extension, excellent sound quality and super-high SPL output) have now been consolidated into a single, remarkable, formidable series of sub transducers.  

Good performance in small sealed enclosures traditionally has required a high-mass cone and voice coil, this results in low sensitivity and poor transient performance (leading to the well known “one-note bass.”) The MASS subwoofers combine a low resonant frequency and very low Vas numbers, with a 3-inch, very low moving-mass aluminum VC and a rigid, lightweight composite alloy cone.  This results in a driver that has “lightning” transient performance and good efficiency, yet permits it to handle very high power, and still work in amazingly small enclosures.

Combined with the patent-pending MASS / RISC ‘Mil-Spec’ motors and the heavy duty suspension provided by the oversize rubber surround and the twin, “DV8” spyders, delivers and exceptionally well damped driver with extraordinary long, linear excursion.  As a result the, high-power VC effectively is always in the “gap.” This substantially reduces the primary cause of loudspeaker distortion: the VC leaving “the gap.”  Ultimately, the MASS subwoofers have redefined the definition of “state-of-the-art.”
