Sometimes you have to take a step back and remember that same-sex marriage has only been legal in America for ten years.

In other horrifying news, the Supreme Court will be hearing a case to decide if conversion therapy will be allowed to be used on queer and trans individuals, including minors.
The case comes from Colorado, from Christian therapist who states that the ban on conversion therapy restricts free speech.
The case will not be heard until late 2025, but this is one of those times to spread the word that this is happening now.
As always, remember to protect our queer and trans community members. They need more support now more than ever.
Edit: I made a more detailed post with some more info about the case if anyone is interested

"We do not have the responsibility of making gay life look good to straights so that they will accept us. I am not at all interested in promoting a cleaned up image to a straight world which is twice as corrupt and ten times as sick."

I really feel like there's a parallel between
people uncomfortable with fatness saying "overweight" as a euphemism, which avoids just saying "fat" by instead implying there is a "correct" weight which someone is deviating from, which is itself anti-fat
people uncomfortable with transness using [sexgender + body] phrasing as a euphemism (e.g. "male bodies" instead of "penis" or "female bodies" instead of "breasts" or whatever), which avoids just naming body parts by instead implying there is a "correct" assemblage of traits which someone is deviating from, which is itself anti-trans
the euphemism is for the benefit of the speaker, because they are uncomfortable with someone's body. they portray it as politeness, but it's extremely rude.

"But they're destroying their bodies for a fetishhhhh" wow great opinion, where did you get it from? Your mom who told you that your new tattoo you got for fun and joy ruined your sacred body?
