i don’t know if this question will make sense but do you have tips for getting better at looking at f1 data? i watch the races and i know about different tire strategies, stuff like that, but i want to learn more
you might already be doing this one, but watching f1 with the multiviewer live timing open makes the experience way more in-depth. it provides real-time access to minisector timings (not the same as turns), team radios, and fia decisions as they happen. you can set a super low latency for live sessions, putting you about a minute ahead of the stream. i prefer multiviewer over online live timings since, from what i can tell, it's the most comprehensive. you will need an f1tv subscription for it
for session data, f1-tempo is the easiest way to view every lap for every driver. it has a few quirks (like not reading aborted laps properly), but it's great for comparing stints or specific laps. just remember to tick "show outliers" during races, or it might hide outlaps and sometimes inlaps
if you can code, openf1 lets you pull even more detailed data, make graphs and charts, and more. most analysts on twitter use it as their data source. very fun to play around with or look at things f1-tempo doesn't show properly
i've mentioned this many times, i refer to the f1technical forum a lot. it can be chaotic (80% arguments), but the remaining 20% is packed with interesting info, especially in the car threads where arguments are fewer (the team threads are a mess lol)

Certain Uncertainty
(lando/oscar, 21.5 K, complete, farm/ranch AU)
The sun has fully dipped below the hillside, and the cool air and ocean breeze are chilling Oscar to the bone. He can feel Lando shiver behind him. There’s barely an inch of space between their backs. Oscar shifts, just a little bit, closing the distance so their backs are pressed together. Lando doesn’t move away. Oscar relishes the warmth silently. Most of their coworkers’ cars are gone by the time they get back to ranch central. It’s well past the end of their shift, but Oscar still needs to make sure the fodder is made for tomorrow. He’ll probably tell Lando to go home and just finish it himself. It will be faster that way anyway. “I still need to finish up the fodder. You can go ahead and clock out though. I’ll show you another day.” Oscar says after they park the quad by the shop. Lando looks at him for a long moment, studying him. “I don’t mind learning it today, but if I’ll slow you down, I can leave.” He says after a moment. Oscar considers this, and considers the fact that Lando seemingly just read his mind. “Well, I’m going to try to do it quickly, but a second pair of hands would help.” “Alright, I’ll stay.”
