Mikasa and Levi are connected to the coordinate and I hope we'd learn that they were the 9th Titan in the human shape. Their lost history is what made all these tragedies take place. WH and KO W holder were the other aspects of these arrow represented in the Royal flag. They both share the beliefs that despite Ymir's subjects should not have existed they don't want to die and if you take attention to the dark side of the moon and " birds at dusk
" you may understand what Levi meant. What would the hero chose in the end, after facing up his true nature?
mom.. im zooming onto OG ymir's face in the last page of 138. i thought at first she was her usual horror expressionless self with the shaded eyes but looking really close, her eyes are not shadowed and i can't be sure but are her lips curling up in a smile? or a smirk maybe? idk...
I can’t wait til we get clean scans of this but it looks for sure like we’re seeing her full face and a happy expression. My tinfoil theory is that it’s almost like Ymir wanted this to happen
I’m trying not to get my hopes up because I know the tragedy probably isn’t over yet, but I find Ymir’s smile encouraging.
Thanks for the ask 💕

I get B. Stocker's Dracula vibes, Mina decapitates and kisses the head of the monster as a means to get absolution for her and for him, regardles of Eren non redeemable actions since attacking Liberio she still loves him but even though she needs to let him go for the same reason. This proves to me that Eren indeed retrieved to a dream state so he could not witness the horrors his determination to move forward would cause. IT was his autopilot doing it( the memories of previous AT holders).
My issue with EreMika's kiss and why it ruined any chance of her character development
I have been waiting for Mikasa to get any form of solid character development since chapter 1. Isayama apparently said in an interview that her development would be separating from Eren...but the girl had the damn scarf stuffed in her shirt!? Like when she walked away from the scarf..I was like FUCKING FINALLY..but this whole reversion was so annoying.
Okay even if we take the scarf thing as her choosing to remember Eren (again, Eren)...the kiss at the end is just terrible and reduces her to some psychotic love interest. It wouldve been SO much better if she just cut his head and said "Goodbye Eren". It wouldve been impactful and literally serve as her cutting off that piece of herself. But no. What do we get? Her kissing a severed head. And I dont want any of that "Oh but she was kissing him in the AU"...like NOW WAS NOT THE DAMN TIME!?? Literally her friends turned into titans, Armin is fighting against Eren..and this ridiculous woman is still obsessing?
Her character is the exact same as its always been with sprinkles in between of some minor growth but shes still the same and thats tragic. At this point even Gabi has had better development then Mikasa and Im pissed at Isayama for doing that to her character. Like Levi had to literally ask her to get her shit together and do what needs to be done. Till the very end, shes remained obsessed with Eren. My apologies to the EreMika fans, like ship what you like, but personally, I never felt Eren liked her in that way. It always felt very one-sided to me and just to have that kiss at the end...just terrible. It would have made more sense if it had been at the cusp of death or something but this shit was just absurd and creepy. The kiss was unnecessary in my opinion and really ruined Mikasa's hopes of redeeming herself for me. If youre kissing your crush, whether in reality or AU, while your friends are literally dying outside...your priorities are clear and youve not grown for me as a character.

Indeed he knew that by killing Zeke the connection Eren had to the coordinate would be lost. He kept his promise to Erwin but now after that I wonder what Levi would wish for?

erwin… it looks like i’ll finally be able to fufill the vow i made to you that day.

Devote your hearts
This theme is connected to the Scout Corps, the wings of Freedom and there is meaning not only to the symbol but the lyrics.
The white bird maintains balance to the dark aspect of it and it seems that when that bird is lost everything is compromised.
The SC is no longer under the guidance of Erwin and those left behind will take on decisions that could compromise the lives of those inside and outside the Walls.
I believe Historia has been told of what lies ahead(Frieda erased it after each visit) and in the end credits, she glances behind as soon as Erwin joins the fallen.
I think this is meaningful, but I’ve seen those dark birds taking flight before, right when Eren awoke from his long nightmare. Was someone trying to tell him something in his sleep?
I’m sure Levi had to release Erwin from his mortal self in order to move forward something of significance in the future.
The lives of the fallen will amount to something more than just being remembered by those living

The connecting element in AOT
We’d have heard of the term “immortality” in SnK World but I think we have associated it with the Coordinate power that keeps somehow living within the bearer, ie, their memories. Perhaps we have extended it to the Shifter’s as well. I think all Ymir subjects are part of this phenomenon; as to in which manner this is manifested, that’s what we have to figure it out. Ymir was a bearer of a Godly Power but it’s interesting to see her holding it rather than caging it inside of her as the current bearers we’ve seen, like Uri or Freida or lately Eren.
Could this be the unforgivable sin they refer to? Caging a Godly Power?
We know of the erasing memory ability that the Coordinate bearer has and this alone should make us suspicious as to how many times those subjects have been mind-wiped? or why? or to what extent? Recently we have another disclosure regarding its power; it can alter the nature of its subjects as well. I have suspicions that this “Utopian” world called Paradise has a darker setting than the one we have seen to this point. Once again, I’d refer to the Royal flag to try to make my point understood. The Royal flag depicts a tree of 3 branches and four roots cut through its base by a double end lance/spear with 3 sharp ends(both ends). The foliage makes direct contact with the branches, the lance/spear, and the soil but it’s not in touch with the roots, and the soil, in turn, touches the river(Lance) and the greenery. They are contained within a circle. see image below.
Within Sina, its center, there’s no connection compare to the Coordinate representation and the 4 aspects do not align with the rest on the outer walls
We could try to interpret it(flag) using the colors(4) to describe some aspect of Ymir, their nature or by comparing it to the idea that the rest of the World has of it. The armband to be more specific.
To me, this either means that the World has another idea of what the Coordinate power is about, or that King Fritz “Utopian” world describes exactly the situation created when Ymir’s powers were first split. What I interpret of this is that from the beginning there was a physical separation of her powers and that the sisters became unable to communicate with all her aspects at some point. When exactly?
I’d dare say that at first, her 3 daughters were able to maintain the harmony with their people but after their split happened, could have been due to some political instability caused by greed for power, from that point something may have been altered by the Coordinate bearer(Sina perhaps)in order to avoid the full power of the Coordinate to be used against humanity. The lance/spear describes a duality established to maintain a connection with all its aspects but also the slave component that has over its aspects and this to me represents the Coordinate bearer before the conflicts within Paradise, when the clans opposed to his plan, Ackerman and Asian. Since King Fritz has been described as the pacifist that decides to abandon the conflicts in Marley, back then I suspected that War Hammed could have been a part of the Coordinate formed to tricked the subjects that did not follow him to Paradise. There was a mind-erasing obviously at that point. We have witnessed that the Tybers sacrificed themselves and were willing to let go of their people, much in the same manner as Paradise Royal descendant(two sides of a coin?) and this is the current situation of Paradise.
Both Attack Titan and Beast Titan are unknowing victims of brainwashing; one thinks that ending their race is the only solution; the other that Death is preferable to living like a Slave and both WH and FT(inside of him) are okay with accepting their demise rather than fighting for their existence. If Eren listens to those voices in him I think nothing good will happen to their people. I think Utopia is a World in which Eldians, Shifters, Pure Titans, the Land and its rivers are all connected, the key at its center denies the connection within his aspects to avoid the Coordinate to become at once ONE with her aspects(12) obviously, there’s no communication happening and its a reflection of their conflict with the World as well. Immortality for Eldians could mean Reincarnation and every time this happens is with the hope that the cycle of hatred could be ended at some point. I believed that in order to end this cycle Ymir will produce a bearer born as a Pure Titan(one with a strong dream that can keep his/her resolve even after death) that could inherit all the powers, not by cannibalism, the root of all their calamities. Hope Isayama shows us something unexpected.

Chapter 120
First of I don’t know why but I feel kind of disappointed maybe it’s because I was so excited for this chapter and expected more than we got? I don’t know. However, this was still a great chapter!
I really really like this panel a lot.

I mean I never thought that Eren would go with Zekes Plan but it’s still nice to get clarification.

I really wonder how this works. Does Zeke has the founding titan now or does Eren still has ist but only zeke can use him now? Well I suppose if Eren would die (which doesn’t really make sense because we know that he will be there at the ending) than zeke having the coordinat would actually make sense?
These flashbacks really were the cutest.

Probs to Grisha for choosing his family first!!

I really wonder what this means. Can they fell the presens of each other? Because of the coordinate or because they are in the memories? This really confuses me.

Now I wonder is Eren “brainwashing” zeke? Cause zeke seems really confused now. Or touched by grishas words? I don’t know but I’m pretty sure this threw zeke off.
Well overall this chapter was really informative but I kinda expected more. I also think it endet quite weird, like some pages are missing. At first I thought the chapter wasn’t updated fully. The worst thing about all of this is that we need to wait another month.
So stay strong people!!

World Tree: The Co-Ordinate and Norse Mythology
So, the Co-Ordinate looks kinda like a tree.
Judging from SNK’s flirtations with Norse mythology, I wouldn’t be surprised if this was a reference to Yggdrasil, the ‘world tree’ or ‘tree of life’, where all planes of existence are joined together. After all, this chapter does take place on another plane of existence, and the Co-Ordinate is tended to by another Norse reference, Ymir.

Do you think the Warhammer memories Eren should have received will be addressed at some point? I remember people making theories awhile back but now I wonder if they’re going to be relevant in finishing off the story.
I don’t know.
With the manga winding down, the items on our checklist of Outstanding Plot Points are being discussed with frequency and this is certainly one of those. Eren gaining the WHT power seemed at the time like it was going to have plot significance beyond giving him a get out of jail free card. So far it hasn’t.
I didn’t have a lot of theories then, and I sure don’t now, but I’d love for there to be more explanation as to why Eren feels justified in destroying a world of people. I’ve heard some speculate that maybe those WHT memories might explain some of Eren’s shift in attitude. If that’s the case it would be a great way to tie this all up and maybe give us a tiny bit more insight into the Tybur family and the pact they made with Karl Fritz. Here’s hoping.
Thanks for the ask!

This is why I have said before Eldians are connected also after their physical bodies are not there.
Me: I’ve given up making theories
Also me: Ok but Armin now knows that all Eldians are connected via Paths, and seeing the resurrected titans of old means that death doesn’t sever that connection. What if he and Zeke are able to communicate with the Eldians of old to help them stop the genocide. OG Ymir has resurrected all the shifters from the past to support the rumbling. What if Armin and Zeke bring back the dead Survey Corps soldiers to help stop it

Eren, a champion of freedom choses to free an injured cage human who has been slave for over 2000 years and while doing it is subjected to his visions of freedom he had since childhood. The injured animal is the most dangerous but her humanity is still there still unable to connect and all her parts, aspects will have a role connecting to this side of her. Let the children out of that forest for once, Isayama.
Hi lost! I've already asked this from momtaku but I'd like to know your opinion too. Why do you think the alliance aside from Pieck still want to protect Eren? Eren doesn't mind harming and killing them. He's killing billions of people with no heed so I'm a little disappointed. They should've already realized if they don't kill him he will never stop as he told them a couple chapters ago. This matter is really bugging me.
If @momtaku has already answered this, I agree with everything she said XD The alliance’s reticence to commit to killing Eren outright is a bit frustrating, but I also think it’s understandable. I don’t think there’s any doubt that they are willing to kill Eren if they have to, but I also think they are clinging on to shreds of hope that he can be stopped without being killed. Despite the evidence that is right in front of their faces, I think that some of them are still struggling to believe that the boy they thought they knew, and who they put such faith in, turned out to be a monster. It’s pretty clear to me that Eren is beyond redemption, but I can understand their conflicted feelings, even if it is pretty infuriating. I think Levi articulated it best in chapter 112; he’s clearly enraged that Eren has betrayed them after all the times they saved him, all the lives lost to the vain hope that he would free humanity, but if he’s angry with Eren, I think he’s even more angry with himself for being taken in by that hope.
Pieck has no such qualms, Eren has never been anything other than her enemy so she is free of such conflicts. Eren has only ever been her nightmare, never her hope. Talking of Pieck, while we’re here, can we please acknowledge what an awesome badass she was this chapter? What a woman.

I don't believe this to be a mistake. Levi is recovering from his wounds and has recover his missing fingers as well.
We could learn the mechanism of the Ackerman's strength next; hopefully it's the key to unlocking the full power of the Coordinate.

Another mistake? Or The Paths really heal?
