It was Dazai who taught Atsushi that couple watches are one of the signs of lovers And now look at them, they got themselves a couple watches.

Rewatched episode 5, I laughed a lot when I see the police couple and Dazatsu’s outfits look quite similar in color

Whether it’s the viewing angle or not, Atsushi’s wrist looks very small compared to Dazai’s. Atsushi’s watches are also a bit smaller.

Day 4 - Fantasy AU

Fantasy setting with witches, werecreatures and the likes:

Atsushi was raised in an orphanage like in canon but at some point when he's still a child he escapes.

He manages to build himself an harsh but sustainable life in a small village until one day, after meeting with a misterious stranger (it's Fyodor, it's always the rat when in doubt), he finds himself cursed.

Due to the other villagers fear he's hunted into fleeing his home in search for a cure.

At the beginning the effects of the curse weren't too noticeble but as time goes on his apperarences start to shift more and more in a beastly form and he slowly begins to lose his control.

As as his thoughts and actions keeps turning more and more savage he gets more desperate until at some point, following the rumors of a misterous person that can eliminate any curse, he stumbles into them.

Dazai is a witch that specializes in sealing magic, he manages to create a charm that partially reverse and slows down the advancement of the cuse.

Now they have to search together for a way to remove it permanently.

OK, BUT WHY do I keep seeing people saying that Chuuya is a clone. Like.... have we read the same book??? The same stage plays, at least??? Are we seeing the same media because I don't understand how you can think that after everything that's been revealed.

Actually, I really love how the movie begins and ends with Atsushi having deep, unconditional trust in Dazai's goodness, going even beyond what Dazai thinks of himself. It's such a nice pattern as well as compelling theme to explore. Their relationship makes me soft.
