Dark States for Abortion masterpost
Resources for women who are low-income and don’t have access to flights/hotels. If you’re in a dark state, here are the closest clinics to you based on driving distance and the appropriate funding resources to contact for each one. I’ve also included tentative price ranges when I can so you can know what to expect somewhat for budgeting reasons.
Arizona
Utah
Texas
Oklahoma
Mississippi
Alabama
Kentucky
Wisconsin
Things to keep in mind when scheduling:
Ask your clinic if they’re apart of any membership organizations or if they’ve recently been certified or inspected. I did not include any clinics on these lists who are not up to date with the latest patient care and certified to be in good medical standing.
I did not include Planned Parenthood clinics as a) their funding is notoriously difficult to access and thus appointments are not feasible for low-income women, and b) their clinics are often over-booked with long waiting periods. The clinics listed here are independent with (hopefully) shorter waiting times for now.
Telemedicine (having the abortion pill shipped to you) is NOT something legal experts recommend if you are in a dark state as it creates a record of your abortion. Most, if not all, certified and safe telemedicine providers will not ship to banned states or patients with an ID from a banned state.
Contact the clinic about their specific policies if you are a minor, if you require extra sedation, if you don’t have an escort for a surgical procedure, if you’ve had prior c-sections, if you have low iron or any other medical issues, or if you don’t have a valid ID. It’s better to contact the clinic beforehand so they can be prepared and so you don’t waste your money if they’re not able to take you- they should have a referral for you if this is the case.
There’s many more states I need to add, but this is what I have time for right now. Laws are constantly changing and any of this info could be out of date by the time you see this. None of this is legal or medical advice, just a gathering of publicly available information to make it easier for women seeking legal abortion care.

I think some people forget that the lifetime appointment of supreme court judges is a rule humans invented, not something decreed by a wizard or something

Plus that survey had the bias of coming from someone in the US (me) and being posted in English, and it still collected data around the world!
It gives me so much hope that radical feminism is so spread out across the world (and that for many countries, radical feminism is the 'default' kind of feminism).
On my dash I have radfems from the Caribbean, from the USA, from Romania, Spain, Japan, The Netherlands (where I am from as well), I used to follow a radfem from Nigeria (I think she got termed), I saw an Alaskan native radfem in the reblogs somewhere once.. and all my love and support goes out to the feminist movement in South Korea!
It gives me hope :)
#thank you for taking the time to make this map lol its very cool#didn't have the patience to do much with the data i collected at the time but I'm glad other people could :)#radblr survey

People just want abuse victims that are soft and kind and gentle, the kind of victims who validate their beliefs that “everything happens for a reason”. It doesn’t occur to these people that abuse actually damages people, that it could turn victims bitter and resentful rather than into poster-children for resilience and inner-strength. Victims don’t just exist to pay homage to your worldview that “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger” as if abuse could ever be a positive or an experience to be grateful for.

someone describing their own rape or assault, even if you personally believe it to be untrue, should never be a source of comedy. let’s just start there with the bar considering it’s on the ground
#johnny depp#this is about a tiktok audio of amber heard describing her sa and people are making jokes with it

sorry but i’ve decided i’m not going to shut up about the implications of the depp vs heard spectacle. it’s genuinely frightening how this is radicalizing people into thinking the legal system is FAVORED on the side of women naming their abusers and rapists when that could not be further from the truth. i’ve seen more incel propaganda repeated word for word in the last few weeks than i’ve seen in years. please PLEASE use your brains. this is bigger than stanning a single celebrity and hoping they ‘win’. Me Too, despite being localized around abuse in hollywood, had a measurable impact on how victims were treated outside of that sphere of power. this case and how people are reacting to it online will also have an impact. it’s just all so incredibly irresponsible.
