was thinking that maybe Anastasia had to make Samael's chain from regenerating bone, the same that Harrow used with making the arm, so if it breaks in fighting it comes back again
so here's mom Anastasia content

has anyone in this fandom ever acknowledged the fact that harrow believes with 1000000% certainty that she was able to unlock the tomb because she's a Super Special Magical Girl (she is, not the point) and has no idea that it's only because she had gideon's blood/skin under her nails when she opened it
like what the fuck is learning this going to do to her chopped up little brain. it's going to destroy her. it's going to completely ruin her sense of self. the only reason she kept LIVING was because she was able to open the tomb and look upon the girl inside it. and to learn that it's NOT because she's The Necromancer Divine, that it's actually her life-long feud with gideon that allowed it to happen? that gideon is the biological child of the Emperor Undying? never mind all the other information we learn at the end of HtN while harrow is fighting gideon's bio mother in the river (she also doesn't even know that wake gave birth to gideon lol)
anyway I think harrow is going to feel very normal about all of this (she's absolutely not)

imagine being varun tho. your little sister calls you in the middle of the night, crying hysterically and asking for you to come pick her up, and when you scramble to go get her, more terrified than you've ever been in your entire planet ghost life, she just rolls her eyes and tells you that you overreacted and you're being so embarrassing oh my god varun all my friends are here and they're going to think you're like weird!!!!... I think I would be a little miffed too honestly

the locked tomb x homer: a not particularly comprehensive guide that no one asked for put together by a brain-fried uni finalist and it's all probably already been said but whatever
(previously discussed by me here (insane diagram linking everything) and here (paris, hector, gideon))
(sorry 4 dodgy photo editing... tried to add Visual Interest but. well. graphic design is my passion dot jpeg)

ok so u know how Colum Asht is missing a finger on his left hand but like it never specified what finger (GtN p. 109)
and u know how the Nine Houses not only retains marrige as an institution, it also canonically still uses wedding rings (GtN p. 242)
and u know how like, despite the Nine Houses being homophobic about necrocav relations, cavaliers are generally still allowed to be married as long as their spouse is not also their necromancer (see: Protesilaus/his wife, Mortus/Glaurica, etc)
but u know how the Eighth House (Templars of the White Glass) aren't just normal space catholics, they're based on the Knights Templar, which had very specific rules about chastity/celibacy/marrige
anyway. Column Asht cut off his left ring finger

I find the concept of nona so funny… like imagine if you knew harrow, this violent psychotic nun who has the personality of a particularly wet cat, someone who willingly gave themselves a DIY lobotomy, and now her body is smiling and giggling and telling you she loves you soooooooo much

who sleeps in the dog beds?
i'm just thinking about the cavalier cots, and how all the characters used/responded to them.
(note: i know for a fact i've seen at least one other post about this, but i do not specifically remember the contents of that post. so if i do some plagiarism here, i would like to apologize and assure you that it's accidental.)
so.
2: it's judith and marta. obviously they use the cavalier cot precisely as intended. even if judith secretly cherishes fantasies of marta bending her over the edge of the master bed, they use the cavalier cot as intended.
3: obviously it goes without saying that the tridentarii share the master bed. i think on paper the cot belongs to naberius and he does sleep in it occasionally, but i also think when they're mad at him they make him sleep on the floor.
4: this is the only one i waffled on a bit. the conclusion i've come to is that, for the first few nights, jeannemary took the cot and isaac slept in the master bed like you're supposed to, because that's the kind of pair they want to be. but after the fifth died i think they started cuddling up together in the master bed, when they slept at all.
5: they're married. it would be pretty weird actually if magnus slept in the cot.
6: we have canon confirmation that the cot is used for storage, which means cam and pal almost certainly share the bed. no one is shocked.
7: gonna say n/a for the seventh because i doubt that the shambling corpse of protesilaus the seventh, ya know, sleeps. but i will say that, if the real pro and dulcie made it to canaan house, she would sleep alone in the bed. not out of any power dynamic, just due to protesilaus's sense of chivalry. she's sick, she needs the more comfortable situation. i think dulcie would feel a bit guilty about it, but pro would insist.
8: do i even need to include the 8th on this list. either they use the cot as intended or they both sleep on the floor, there are no other possibilities.
9: no speculation here, we know how it went down.

My theory of what The Message is
AIM mentions that the message "It's too simple for humans to understand.". My guess is that it's data stored in the form of DNA sequences. Most people think of DNA as just genetic material inside the cells, but for years now scientists have been studying it's application in other areas.
With DNA you can storage a lot of information in a very small volume using nitrogenous bases A, T, G, and C (or U instead of T for RNA). This information can be preserved for myriads and wouldn't degrade like our normal methods of preserving information does (paper, HDs, SSDs, tapes, print, etc.). As long as there are humans that can read and write genetic codes, we will be able to decode it. (https://www.science.org/content/article/dna-could-store-all-worlds-data-one-room)
This explains why BOE picked a veterinary, because they have the knowledge to read and decode a DNA sequence. We know that Blood of Eden has the technology for that, and I think that it's mentioned that they had a project to clone Wake.
While this seems to contradict that it's "too simple for humans to understand", I think it's like the "you can't enter a door that you don't have permission" riddle. We can't understand ATGACGGATCAGC...just by looking at it, but it is what defines life on Earth. We understand it by decoding, which require our mind and memories that work on proteins, so there is level of separation already.
I think they are carrying information about life on Earth (and also maybe, other planets that they inhabited) in the form of DNA. Kind of like a Noah's Ark, but with also all the history, music, literatures, internet memes, etc., that humanity produced. That's why the BOE names are all pre-resurrection references.
My theory on how The Angel carries all this DNA information is that someone modified their body by making them like a chimera (with necromancy it seems). That's why they said to Palamedes that "My dead body is designed to deny you answers.". So if he were to examine them, he would find what looks like a bunch of puzzle pieces, each belonging as if to a different puzzle.
By this point I can't help but think of Teacher from the first book. The Angel was presented to us a teacher too, and they refer to themselves as "we", so like Teacher, they are a form of construct (with what I came up). Maybe Teacher is one of the parts of The Message? Cassiopeia was the one that created him and there is this speculation that she helped create BOE, so AIM being like another construct made by her would make sense.
