Rewatching Tintin Secret of the unicorn while I recover from my cold and that movie just holds up so well. What other animated film from 2011 still looks so good? The way you can see the peach fuzz on Tintins face and the texture of the fabric of all their clothes. The lighting and the attention to detail. And the commitment to the easter eggs is just *chefs kiss*

Seeing folks be outraged about different name changes makes me wonder what folks think is the worst overall, also I’m focusing on main characters here.

Also Bonus mention: Tintin (jeune reporter) -> Tintin (French boy). The name isn’t changed, just the title (apparently he lost his job and moved to a new country in that translation).

Hi Ames!

I believe the drawings themselves are from 2018 (though the stories are from 2012-2015) because that is what the signature on them says and they are right next to me at my desk 😄.

So moving to hear! It makes me really happy!

Since then I have gotten two sons, I have worked out the entire Mesmer series (Mesmer is the Forest House from the fanfics, though the series is set one emperor later! And also, Marcus and Biancus are alive (YEY for them!)). It’s offline because it’s agented with my Belgian publisher.

Because I did a Dutch e-book and audiobook about two students faling for each other during the pandemic. I dunno whether the agenting will lead to anything but if not I will probably put the Mesmer series back online somewhere next year.

And then I started missing writing online. I caught up with the Asterix fandom on AO3 and I fell right back in. Phyllis did a cameo during the first story I wrote!

So yeah, it’s been a while. I find it hard to read ‘Phyllis’ and ‘The Forest House’ because I see so many mistakes and THE POV Switches WAY TOO often. But I love them for all the fun I had, for what I learned and the people I met. And I adore that they still mean something for others too!

I went to a viking festival held by the Danish viking museum by Trælleborg today, and if there’s ever anything that gets me in the mood for Asterix content it’s visiting ancient history sites.

I was walking round that marketplace looking at jewelry, leather shoes that looked exactly like the Gauls’ shoes and people roasting whole pigs like: “…I feel like I need a woven basket on my arm and some gold hoop earrings”
