Revive (UNIONE): English Karaoke Lyrics
Note: These are singable lyrics that I made. Feel free to use this to sing in place of the Japanese lyrics! Credit appreciated. Have fun!
—–
I heard the voice of the world call to me as I slumbered on
It echoed as the morning came, pervading my every waking thought
The sheer amount of things that have come and gone
leaves me paralyzed and at a loss of what to do
But I gather my nerve because I remember
The solemn oath to you that I will rise to my feet again
Revive! Everything that I have ever come across
Revive! Lives on within my ever-beating heart
Revive, revive, revive! I won’t waver anymore
Revive! The feelings that connect all of us (all of us)
Revive! Ignite and burn forever warm and strong (warm and strong)
Revive, revive, revive! I restart my life anew
Revive! So glad you’ve gathered here again today Revive!
To listen to me sing a song of hope
Revive, revive, revive! A cycle without end in sight
An eternal revive
We are one and we are strong!
A great and mighty force
We are one and we are strong!
For I’ve awakened and I see
Oh, here we stand!
That I love you all so dearly
Revive! I’ll pledge myself to you all forevermore
Revive! Surrounded by a sky of countless stars
Revive, revive, revive! I won’t waver anymore
Believe in me, Revive!
Revive, revive, revive! I can see so clearly now
Revive! Everything that I have ever come across
Revive! Lives on within my ever-beating heart
Revive, revive, revive! Reach out for tomorrow and
seize the next Revive

to watch code g, what are some of the themes one should look about for.. some of the things to keep in mind,, like.. you know what I mean. I've never seen it but if you like it it's gotta b good
oh man oh man im so glad you asked!!!!! im sorry this took so long i kept getting so excited. i wrote this simple post up and i’ll refine a lot of stuff into a more detailed post on this subject later!!! thank you so much for this ask!!!
WHILE-WATCHING TYPE STUFF
In Code Geass, everyone is narrating and everyone is an unreliable narrator. Keep this in mind.
Everything you see is in there for a reason. If you see it and it seems extraneous or makes no sense, it will later. Keep this in mind.
DIRECTLY RELATED TO ABOVE: It’s not finished yet. R2 is not the end anymore, and we have reason to believe that R3 was planned all along. Keep this in mind.
In the first episode, in like, one of the first shots you see the bastard in, Lelouch is sitting in the sidecar of his friend’s motorcycle, with a helmet on, reading Hamlet. Aside from any joke I could make here about this being the most true and accurate representation of Lelouch’s character we are ever allowed to directly see… Keep this in mind.
Take any explicit statements made out of world by the writers with a grain of salt; they have lied or been deliberately misleading in the past rather than leaking true info that (at the time were) spoilers
BROADER THEMES
literally the whole anime is about politics, and because this is is a very YA anime that came out to (at least on the english speaking web) a 2007 audience of mostly middle schoolers and teenagers screaming on /a/, there’s discouragingly little serious conversation about this. just keep that in mind i guess.
if you’re like me and you’re an american who’s pretty far on the social and political left, when you watch the first few episodes of code geass, you are going to see a lot of truth bombs get dropped hard, maybe the hardest– or at least most directly– you’ve ever seen in a heavily stylized piece of fictional media, and you are going to be pretty fucking hype
but like seriously this is “racism fuckyou, heres why”, “our identities are constructed not inherent, heres why” and “homophobia fuckyou, heres why”: the cartoon
post-colonialism, intersections (from what i understand; i want to do more research on both) of critical race and queer theory. how a story is something that’s told. identity. jung’s concept of the persona. the writer worked on utena, you can do the math from there i think.
