The Longest Day - On average (depending on road conditions) we would cover about 360km a day. Traveling at 60km/h, it would take us 8hours to cover this distance. After being delayed in #ethopia (visas) we had to make up of for lost time and #Sudan had the perfect conditions to do this. Traveling on 150cc scooters, we could not increase our speed, so we had to increase our distance per day. a Typical day in Sudan would be to wake up at sunrise, have a "roadside" breakfast, which would consist of biscuits and energy bars. After breakfast, we would hit the open road, stopping only for fuel, refreshments and a ice cold sprite. Finding a spot to #bushcamp in #etheopia, is not always easy. After taking this picture, an "intoxicated" gentleman showed up, claiming to be a tour guide (there is an old castle up the hill). After trying to convince him that we are not interested in the castle and we would just like to camp for the night, he wondered of. Just before dark,he returned with 4 friends armed with ak47's, claiming to be the police and we can not camp here. I spend the next 15 minutes to try and explain to them (using mostly hand signs) that we would only like to sleep here for the night.
