the conditions of the last forty-some-odd years in the US with increased dependence on credit, stagnation of wages, decreased bargaining power, and steady decline in sufficient employment should make the nation ripe for revolution but here we are

in debt david graeber says that canceling debts and redistributing land has essentially been the programme of peasant revolts for the last few thousand years, and although it’s obviously not all-encompassing, can you imagine the effects cancelling all debts and redistributing property to those who live in it would have? it’s a pretty good programme honestly
