Different Application Areas of Cameras

Over the years, great minds have contributed immensely in making crucial inventions and discoveries. One such invention was the introduction of camera. A camera is an optical instrument which is used for recording and storing photographic images in digital form. It makes use of electronic image sensor for capturing still photographs and recording video.

The first portable camera is believed to be designed by Johann Zahn in 1685. Though he played a crucial role in the invention of camera, most of his attempts in the later years went futile. In 1814, a French inventor, Joseph Nicephore Niepce clicked the first photograph on a paper coated with silver chloride using his own camera. Since then many eminent minds have contributed and evolved camera from the room size box to what it is at present. 

Camera has always had a humongous impact on our life from the time immortal. Some application areas of cameras are discussed as follows- 

A camera is a “Story Teller” 

A photographer through the eyes of his camera communicates with the world and tells his story using pictures. A camera is a photographer’s best friend. A photographer uses his camera and his imagination to express the story of a person, place or an event. 

Education – Visual Learning 

Every child is different in terms of being an auditory, visual or a kinesthetics learner. Camera has become a learning aid for every kind of learner. One cannot imagine a text book without photos relevant to the topic.

•    The use of camera is evident in documentation of the school year book showing various photographs and filming activities of the students. Even a slideshow of the whole year can be created.

•    Pictures can be used to encourage children to write creative stories in order to enhance their imaginative power and develop linguistic skills.

•    Parents can be kept informed about their child’s performance and happenings of the school using photographs.

•    Students should be given an opportunity of choosing photography as an activity in school club, which could help them in taking it as a professional career.

•    Classroom activities can be recorded using a camera. 

Preservation

We have always wished to preserve the special moments of our life, whether it is the birth of our baby, the first day of their school, our marriage or our child’s graduation day. Camera has made this wish come true in real sense. 

Art Form

Camera has helped to evolve the digital photographic art of the modern time. Artistic creations like wallpapers, screen savers and digital clip arts can be produced using camera and any photo editing software such as Adobe Photoshop. 

Entertainment

Camera is the vital part of the entertainment industry which cannot function without it. Even people not belonging to the entertainment industry can be seen addicted to this invention. The new selfie culture of the millennial generation owes it to the invention of camera. 

There is no need of memorizing or storing data when you can take pictures of the same for future reference.
