It Is Okay
I am at home on day 4 of Self Isolation. Last night we were put on lockdown as a nation. That is ok.
I can go to the shops, doctor or exercise once a day but I can’t really because I am at risk. That is ok.
I have no paid work and what little I had, has dried up, it is ok because I have plenty to do.
I had hoped to be able to jump in the car and go for a fast drive with the windows down…

I am working from home and due to the nature of my work my income has dropped significantly. The impirtant this that We have enough and will be able to cover the basics and the absolute necessities for the next 12 weeks and I will worry…

Books in 2018
This is when things get interesting I started University in September 2018 and my books took a turn towards dry, but necessary textbooks, yawn. The last couple of years have been barren of good books of any kind so I am actually enjoying being forced to get books and read them some more in-depth than others. When it comes to textbooks there is no need to review them it just necessary to mention…

Books in 2016
4th November 2016
Yahoo! I have finished four books!
I finally finished The Last Kingdom by Bernard Cornwall pretty gruesome in some parts but interesting from a historical point of view, I do enjoy Bernard Cornwall’s work apparently it has been made into a TV series which I haven’t seen I’m not really sure I want to either.
I also managed to finish Kathy Reichs’ Bones Never Lie which was as…

Books in 2015
So with thanks to the wonders of technology, I am able to “remember” all the books I read last year …. yeah!
Probably won’t manage much of a review but we shall see.
Dying Light (Logan McRae, Book 2), Stuart MacBride
He did it again!
Name changes, vomit worthy scenes, additional backstory that I want to read, stupid, stupid bad guys.
Bottleneck (DC Scott Cullen Crime Series Book 5), Ed James
Poli…

Books in 2014
So at first glance, it appears that I read prolifically throughout 2014, still not near the goal of 50. I suspect I haven’t read many of the classics on this list this year, but being Scottish, I must take advantage of free books, thank you Kindle. I think I read 19 of these. If I have written nothing it is no reflection on the author. It’s just me, it has been two years since I read these and…

Books in 2013
I thought for a minute I had read nothing in 2013 but that couldn’t be right, then I discovered an order for books in December 2012 which meant I had these for 2013. I am pretty sure I have read others but we’re talking about three years ago, so a short and sweet list this time.
Before I Go To Sleep, S J Watson
It’s now a movie starring Nicole Kidman, I haven’t seen the movie but I highly…

Starting New Habits - A Series - Good Home Routine
Starting New Habits – A Series – Good Home Routine
Hello friends,
I have finally caught up with myself.
The house is clean and tidy.
My niece and nephew got to visit today for the first time in a very long time. I have never been happier to have them over.
I have been keeping up with a good daily routine, kitchen is kept clean and dishes done regularly, I still miss a dishwasher.
The bins are emptied regularly.
Laundry is being put away, I have…

Building Our Home
My son decided to help me out one day in November.
I recently bought a new Linnmon/Alex desk from Ikea it was reasonably priced and just the right size for my room.
Today my son offered to build it for me I was going to do it but he was so keen I accepted his offer. He gathered some tools and emptied the box realised he needed more tools and soldiered on. He spent some time making sure he had…

My Blog is Changing
9 years ago I started blogging about books and what I was reading along with some reviews. It then developed into a brain dump to keep me motivated and help with my mental health.
Over the last 9 years my subscribers have grown slowly I recently passed 50 followers then 70 a couple of weeks later and it keeps growing. I have discovered which types of blogs are received better and I was reminded…

Continuing to be Productive
With University finished for the year, I have a bit more time on my hands. This is great as I have been chipping away at things for a couple of weeks and needed more time to get on with “it”.
So I have reimplemented the little and often approach to my housework again it does mean things are getting done much more efficiently now.
My bed arrived on Tuesday, it is like climbing a mountain it is so…
