This is been something that I've thought for awhile, but do you think Lana should of a had a girlfriend instead of Quinn/Sanjit? .eg. Dahra, Dekka

hello! you know, honestly, i don’t think i ever considered whether lana should have had a girlfriend or not. i’m not opposed to the idea, though! i think it’d be neat if maybe there were some unsaid feelings between dahra and her that could add extra tension to their pre-existing dynamic!

do u have any headcanons for gone characters in terms of gender or sexuality?

i do! all are pretty self-indulgent though. i answered a very similar ask to this previously (over a year ago what the heck) so i'll summarise here as they haven't changed much:

- canon sexualities are, well, the same, so dekka, edilio and roger are gay

- lana is aromantic, uses she/they pronouns, is also with dahra (in a queerplatonic relationship)

- quinn is pan

- caine is bi, so is diana, howard, mary, and basically everyone else unless stated otherwise

- i have some... thoughts about the trans!caine headcanon that i have seen like twice in various places, but i don't personally have that headcanon myself

- jezzie and sinder are dating

- drake is the only exception to all of this. he cannot be anything other than cis and straight

my favorite gone ship of all time is orc x astrid, which i talk about on this blog a lot. probably too much. but i think their dynamic (whether platonic or romantic tbh) is so fascinating and complex! their relationship brings out the best qualities in both of them; astrid's nurturing sensibility and her keen sense of morality, orc's protectiveness and loyalty. they're both reserved and a little socially inept and intimidating to their peers but at the same time they're so different in terms of their social circles/social standing! their dynamic is so underrated and sweet and has such potential for legitimately dark and complicated drama (the coates scene????? peak literature!!!). i wish mg had had them interact more. truly the best bully/nerd pairing i love them so much 🥺🥺🥺🥺💖💖💖💖💖 even though i can't see them lasting together, i like to imagine in an alternate universe where they grow to be relatively well-adjusted adults, they have a little secret fling together at some point. then they remain friends after breaking up. i just want them to be emotionally intimate with each other. they are the beauty and beast of the fayz...navigating their own goodness and morality and feelings toward each other. their whole dynamic is about redemption and generosity of spirit and the power of human compassion and i love it!

but i also like orc x howard (love triangle anyone?) and cookie x lana bc i love redeemed bullies i guess. i also am a lot more open to diana x astrid after thinking a lot about how similar they are and reading heartbeat on air on ao3, haha

as for ships i hate? hmmm...i think "hate" is a strong word, but i'm not a fan of caine x diana or sam x astrid--the former bc i don't get the appeal and don't really like either of their characters, the latter bc i think mg does a bad job selling the audience on the supposed goodness of their relationship when they're not very interesting and pretty dysfunctional together 🤷‍♀️
