Gospel - St. Luke, 2. 21
At that time, when eight days were fulfilled for the circumcision of the Child, His name was called Jesus, the name given Him by the angel before He was conceived in the womb.
_________________________________________
*** Our Lord revealed to Sister Saint-Pierre, a holy Carmelite of Tours, the devotion to this Gospel passage in which He receives His Holy Name. He instructed her to distribute this Gospel to those in need, and telling them to wear it and invoke the Holy Name. He later instructed that an image of the Infant Jesus should be printed on the leaflet, along with the words :
When JESUS was named, Satan was disarmed.
In honor of the five letters forming his Holy Name, the Lord promised the following to those who wear this little Gospel:
Preservation from lightning.
Grace to escape the snares of the demon.
Preservation from sudden and unprovided death.
Facilitation in the path of virtue.
Final perseverance.

Ave verum corpus, natum de Maria Virgine, vere passum, immolatum in cruce pro homine, cuius latus perforatum fluxit aqua et sanguine: esto nobis praegustatum in mortis examine. O Iesu dulcis, O Iesu pie, O Iesu, fili Mariae.
Hail, true Body, born of the Virgin Mary, who having truly suffered, was sacrificed on the cross for mankind, from whose pierced side flowed water and blood: May it be for us a foretaste of the Heavenly banquet in the trial of death. O sweet Jesus, O merciful Jesus, O Jesus, son of Mary.

Dominus regit me, et nihil mihi deerit: in loco pascuæ, ibi me collocavit.
The Lord ruleth me: and I shall want nothing. He hath set me in a place of pasture.
