Open windows (Evan x Reader)

Request: a fluffy piece of the reader confronting Evan after everything hung that falls apart in act 2? 💙

Warnings: none??

Words: how the fuck should I know I wrote this in notes

Senior year, the year where everything could either become the best year or everything falling apart. Unfortunately Evan’s was falling apart. His old girlfriend broke up with him, ((I don’t know if this happens in the show itself so just take my word for now)) and his only friend at the time abandoned him. That’s when he reached out to you. You and Evan were next door neighbors, and used to be good friends, until one thing came to another and neither of you were allowed to see eachother. This all changed when you received a note inside a basket tapping against your window in the middle of the night.

Tap. tap. tap. Every time it tapped you felt yourself grow more impatient. Finally after about a minute you rose from your bed and went over to the window. A basket was tapping the window.‘Evan used to use this to communicate a while back!’ You thought smiling as you opened the window. Even though you both attend the same school as of late, you didn’t really interact with each other. You grabbed the note inside and unfolded the piece of paper. In rushed but neat handwriting read “(Y/N) I don’t know if you’ll read this, but I’m in a hard bad rough tough spot, and you’re the only person I have left to turn to. Please if you can, It’d be nice to talk again. You can enter through my window, there’s a roof below it you can climb onto.”

After reading the note, you glanced out the window and looked at Evans house. Through his window you could see Evan, at his desk face down, with only a lamp nearby to give light to the room. Frowning, you went to your closet and threw on your boots, after all it had previously rained and surprisingly snowed last night. ((Yes Texas gets snow sometimes)) Dressed in only a nightgown and leggings, you opened the window all the way, and grabbed the nearest tree branch. Luckily, it was sturdy enough to hold your weight but wouldn’t the longer you hung. Climbing from branch to branch and occasional branches getting entangled in your hair, you were close to Evan’s room. His window was also wide open. Taking some time to study his features, a lot had changed since you two last talked. Quickly snapping back after catching sight of a tear falling down his cheek, you somewhat successfully swung yourself into his room, your knees buckling as your feet landed.

Looking over at you, Evan nearly threw himself at you, enveloping you ((Did I use that right??)) in a tight embrace. Feeling tears wet your night gown, you hug back quickly, tears welling up in your eyes as well. “(Y/N), I didn’t think you’d actually come.” Evan barely choked out. “I’m here now, it’s ok. Let it all out, promise.” You whispered lightly to him starting to rub circles on his back. Your mother had done this to you when you were sad, and assumed it would work with Evan. Evan burst out into tears as they quickly started to soak your nightgown. You didn’t care though, and kept rubbing his back. It did seem to help, as the two of you stayed like that for a while.

Soon enough Evan had stopped crying, and his breathing had steadied. The thought occurred to you that Evan had fallen asleep, as it was rather late into the night and crying wears people out. Not wanting to disturb him or take the chance to wake him up, you used your free hands to barely reach his comforter and wrap the fabric around you two. Even though the window was open still, you could care less. Your eyes darting to the clock that sat on Evans nightstand, the time read 2:24 am. Your body now taking into account the lack of sleep started to fall asleep, as your eyes struggled to stay open. Almost seconds later, your eyes were shut and fallen asleep.

Hours later ((can I put that spongebob image in heh))

The two of you still on the floor fast asleep, as Heidi received a call from your mom. “Hello, the Hansen household!” Heidi picked up the phone as she and your mom discussed your absence from your room, with the window left open. Heidi suggested that you might’ve come over to Evans room without her knowing and offered to go check for your mom. Your mom agreed and so Heidi went, up the stairs and slowly creaking the door open.

There on the floor was the two of you sound asleep, Evans head resting on your shoulder and your head resting slightly on top of his. The comforter wrapped around the two of you made Heidi smile wide. Carefully walking in, she closed the window above the two of you, bringing down the blinds above. Switching off the lamp that sat on his desk, she quietly shut the door once more and picked up the phone once more. Heidi told your mom that you were at Evans, sleeping. Your mom’s reaction was the same as Heidi’s smiling, before thanking her and ending the call.

((All done!! I hope this was good, I’m not amazing at writing sometimes… anyway, I could make a sequel to this but I’d need a plot line, so that’s on the table. And I kinda got carried away with description so there might not be a lot of fluff as I feel I am horrible with dialogue. Happy that this was my first request!!))

Evan comforting you hcs

Evan’s so soft and gentle with you

he knows when you aren’t feeling so good, you don’t even have to tell him

he always brings you over to his house so that you can escape whatever’s happening at home that’s making you stressed

he sits with you on the couch so that his back is against the armrest, his feet are stretched out in front of him, and you’re laying on top of him with your head against his chest (aka the only proper way to cuddle)

he holds you closely on the couch with one hand on the back of your head and the other on the small of your back

uses his thumb to massage small little circles into your spine

whispers “shhhh” and “It’s okay, I’m right here” into your ear

tells you to cry for as long as you need

after you’re finished crying he sits up with you and carefully and deliberately wipes away all of your tears 

he kinda makes a big deal about wiping away your tears because in the past he wished he had someone to do that for him when he was upset ok I crossed the line there probably

but anyways he talks to you in a really soft voice because he knows that crying can make your head hurt or ears a little sensitive 

oh buddy I almost forgot he likes to sit with you outside too

he’ll sit under a tree with you and cradle you in his lap and just talk about really cool nature stuff

it’s calming as heck, okay? because it’s grounding as heCK. It helps you focus on one thing at a time.

He’ll be like “Babe, look! Those clouds are cumulus clouds. When you see them then you know it’ll be a good day because it won’t rain anytime soon!”

he’s big on taking naps outside because 1) you need the rest and relaxation and 2) being in the sun helps lighten the mood a little

sings to you when you’re napping and sometimes you wake up to him mindlessly singing sofa by ed sheeran or something… it’s super cute and kinda funny not gonna lie

puts flowers in your hair while you’re sleeping and giggles about it because he thinks he’s super sneaky and you’re just oh so pretty

reserves very soft kisses for when you’re starting to feel a lil bit better because he doesn’t want to prohibit you from processing through your emotions

he gives really gentle kisses and kisses you all over to make you giggle

constantly tells you that he loves you

sometime he sits you on a kitchen counter and holds a cool wash cloth to your forehead 

he always asks you to stay for dinner and Heidi goes out of her way to make you your favorite meal because she hates seeing you sad, too

Evan will bring you back home after your long day and make sure that you have one of his hoodies and an extra piece of pie that Heidi made

he calls you before you go to bed that night and says that he’ll stay on the phone until you fall asleep

Unsure (Evan Hansen x Reader)

requested by @whovianwholikesgirls :  Can I have a fluffy fic where the reader feels like she can’t measure up to Zoe and Evan proves her wrong?

no warnings, fluff ensues

Zoe. You saw the way Evan used to hang around her all the time. He was all over her. She broke up with him, leaving him to find someone new. You found each other, and he seemed to be the happiest you had ever seen him. He kept sneaking glances at Zoe every time they were in the same room. You knew he still had slight feelings for her, it was painfully obvious. He always showed little bits of affection, making sure you knew he loved you, but sometimes it wasn’t enough.

Evan told you to meet him at his house, so Heidi let you in and sent you up to his room to wait. You sat on Evan’s bed in silence, just thinking of the way he looks at her. The silence was too much. You began to break, slowly, silently, letting tears fall one at a time. He came about 10 minutes later, calling out to you on the way up the stairs.

“(Y/N)? A-are you here?” He called before pushing his bedroom door open. He couldn’t tell that you were crying at first, so he just continued on.

“You are here, okay. My mom is gone for the night, so we can do pretty much whatever you want,” he didn’t stop until he looked up from putting his jacket away. “Hey, what-”

“I’m sorry,” you cut him off, “I can’t be like her, I know. And I know that you aren’t as happy with me as you were with her. I know she was perfect and I’m not. She is everything you wanted, and more, but I’m just… not.” You finally broke down, letting out full sobs. He dropped onto the bed beside you and took one of your hands into his, rubbing soothing circles onto your back with the other.

“W-why-wh-what made you think that? I love you so much and you are s-so wonderful, you are my world, my-my everything, I don’t u-understand what made you think of this.” He had a genuine expression of concern and confusion written on his face.

“I see you look at her all the time, and it’s so painfully clear that you still want her. I can’t be her, but I know that you just want her back.” Your voice cracked horribly through your sobs.

“W-what? I only look at her because she is constantly s-staring at me, and it makes me so horribly uncomfortable. I look at her and-and hope she gets the hint that I’ve moved on. I never knew that you felt this way. You should have told me sooner.” He pulled you into is chest, hoping to give you comfort.

You wiped your eyes and sat up straight. You cupped his cheek with you hand and pulled him closer, pressing a sweet kiss to his lips. He returned it instantly, lifting his hands to your face. You pulled back, resting your forehead against his.

“I love you, Evan Hansen.” You smiled bright.

“I love you, (Y/N) (L/N).” He let out a small chuckle, pecking your lips again.

Evan Has a Teddy Bear

-He got a teddy bear for Christmas once

-He was the happiest little kid when he got it

-He loves it so much he cried when he saw it

-At 17, he still sleeps with it

-He bought a blue polo for it as soon as he got a job

-When he broke his arm he made a little cast for it

-he hides it from everyone, including Heidi

-since he has the house to himself most of the time he gets bored

-one time it’s arm ripped off and he was really sad

-until Heidi found out and she sewed it back on

Mike looks at individuals in the audience, he speaks to them specifically

i think Will uses this technique where you look at the back of the heads of people/back of the theatre, its used for speaking to the whole theatre 

and can i just say, will does NOT get enough credit for his entire performance, while yes his comedic timing and stuff are AMAZING, he cries while on stage and brings a lot of emotion that i did NOT expect but it was so good

Ben kinda does both, god his voice is so good, its so much better irl if thats even possible

okay so Asa brings so much to the role of larry, from what ive heard Michael is very stoic all the time but Asa like, is just really tired of life more than anything. 

Asa’s Larry for sure isnt a good guy but hes not the bad guy either. He fucks up as a parent for sure, and what he did to connor was not okay but like… man he does care even if he tries not to show it

Today Connor Murphy showed up at cheerleading tryouts because Larry Murphy said if Connor did not go out for one sport this year, he would he grounded.

Cynthia is thrilled he made the team. Connor explained he’s very good at yelling.

Connor looks very nice in the uniform. The girls come over to the Murphy house after winning games. Cynthia makes brownies and Connor paints everyone’s nails. It’s nice.
