A lot of ppl think Native Americans didn’t have metal, when actually Indians in South America discovered metallurgy in 800 bce, and it traveled up the Americas from there across the enormous & complex trade routes indigenous ppl had built thruout the Americas. Examples of worked gold, silver, & copper are so rare bc the Spanish & other Euros stole & melted down every piece of precious metal they cld find. Ancient Mesoamericans also knew about tin, & heavier metals like lead & iron, but there were no horses in the Americas, & mines were terrible environments, and indigenous leaders were too humane to force the common folk to work awful mines & carry heavy ores on their backs. Not so the xstian colonists, who used the Indians like slaves & pack mules, which contributed to the destruction of the indigenous population, from 25 million before the first epidemic from Europeans hit Mesoamerica, til a census the Spanish took towards the end of the 1500s, when only a million native Mesoamericans survived. Columbus arrived in 1492, and contact w Mesoamerica happened a few years later. Nearly all the indigenous ppls on the Carribean islands died from the same combo - epidemics of diseaes the Europeans brought into the human world bc they literally lived & slept w farm animals & only took baths annually, violence, & brutal slavery.

This is a sulfuric hydrothermal lake in the South of Fairyland called “Stinky Boil Lake,” bc sulfur is super stinky. This is the land of the Fire Fairies 🧚🏽‍♀️🔥 They are a very strong, willful fairy family; they love heat of course, and they are often the backbone of large Fairy🧚🏽‍♀️magic spells. They also are very social, always on the move to diff social events & such, the Fire Fairies🧚🏽‍♀️🔥often arbitrate disputes, they are good advisers when it comes to understanding social interactions, and they are wonderful teachers. They often live in volcanoes 🌋 Bc will is so important in doing magic, Fire Fairies🧚🏽‍♀️🔥are attracted to humans doing magic ✨& will hang around our altars. They can also be very catty & analytical; they will def look at yr altar with a critical eye; and will remark to one another about the beauty of your power objects, or snicker at the layers of dust. They’re not super fond of dust & dirt on an altar, they are of the flames, which burns things pure, so if u don’t want the Fire Fairies 🧚🏽‍♀️🔥to be distracted while you’re casting a spell coz they’re sniggering about how dusty & messy yr altar is, reminding all the other fairies how long it’s been since you paid any attn to your spiritual practice, you shld dust off yr altar before casting a circle 😘 Truly, they only tease out of love, & to help you clean up your act a little so your magic ✨will be more effective. This is National Cat 🐈 Day, so this is a video of my amazing stud of a kitty 🐱 Rocky 💜🧡💚Rocky is a gourmand whenever i have food he’s like, “what are you eating? let me lick it, and decide I don’t like it.” Honestly, I never thought he’d eat the licorice, but when he did i knew i had to take video. But i had to be careful, bc Rocky does not like to be on cam, and if he sees me taking pics or vids he will immediately stop being cute. So the best part of this is the look on Rocky’s face when he realizes I’m taking video, and how he then rips the licorice out of my hand and throws it on the floor. A FAIRY GARDEN - mixed media on a photo manipulation print. This is essentially an edited photo of a mixed media piece i made - actually it’s the first one I attempted. I did it bc the print was a little muddy, and I wanted to use colored ball point & gel pens to color back in the details. I also used rhinestones to bring some of the lil flower buds, and of course glitter for shine and sparkle. I tried to edit the pic to bring out the glitter and for color correction. Not sure i did that great of a job. This piece is custom framed, and I’m asking $160 for it, which i think is reasonable considering the amount of time i put into it. FAIRYLAND GRASS - this was made from a photo i took long ago, I made several versions, some that were really over the top. I forgot about it, and it was dug deep in The Stockpile - most of which i lost when my computer crashed. For those of you who’ve followed my computer drama, I’m still looking for an affordable data recovery place. Anyway, I searched thru my old folder of ongoing projects and found this and thought I’d post it. It’s kinda of a #wip but idk, maybe it’s done. This is what the grass looks like in Fairyland during Sweet Summer, when the weather is at its best. The sun is wonderfully, cozily warm, but not dry, so there’s no danger of wildfires yet. BUTTERFLYWITCH 🦋 - for #mabsdrawlloweenclub day 15. Butterflywitches specialize in being able to transmute, and change themselves, or to change difficult situations into easier ones. A Butterflywitch can use her magic and science to transform her Self, or use her magic to keep herself safe by transforming dangerous situations, and making them something else. As a transgender Butterflywitch i am transitioning my gender, using all the magic i can muster. Just today a friend told me how she cld see me changing, she cld see i had a goal and I'm moving towards it with every breath.
