Similar to Ella and Nico, they’re mc’s that we play in many different IF games. Sometimes their looks or names are different but their personalities, hobbies and thoughts are usually always the same.

About Me

Hello! My name is Butterfly Reader but you can call me Butterfly. I’m 22 years old and I do video game development on the side. I’m mainly a small fanart blog for interactive fiction stories! Here’s a little Q&A:

Am I open for commissions?

Not for the foreseeable future. This is purely a blog meant for fun and fanart. I usually choose to do art for romanceable characters that I'm a fan of or sometimes I make art of me or my friends main characters from the games.

What’s my art style?

I love dabbling in different styles, however my two main interests are either on the more realistic side or anime/manhwa-ish or in between. I was first a traditional artist and even then I would mess with different styles and mediums. I just find things to be more fun and refreshing that way.

How long does it take for me to draw a piece?

Usually 1-2 days. At least for now. I have hella free time so I'm able to put all my time on the pieces I’ve done so far. That will likely change once I get a job again and start working on other personal projects. Luckily (or maybe unluckily) I also have chronic insomnia so I spend HOURS on some pieces with only small breaks (starting to think I should maybe get a life). Depending on the difficulty or lack thereof, it can take me just a day to complete something. More “realistic” pieces take me longer. For me, lineart is what takes me FOREVER. Then I just color over which doesn’t take too long since I’m not the best renderer (still learning how to do all the cool tricks).

What art program do I use? Drawing pad or tablet?

Now my art might be considered good to some but I’m technically not a professional. So I don’t use those fancier programs. I use something called Krita. I’ve found it to be easiest to use so far and it’s also free. I use a Veikk drawing pad.

How long have I been doing art?

Since I was around 9-11 so that’s over a decade and most of that was spent doing traditional art. I’m still learning how to do digital, it’s a lot harder than it looks 🙁

Can you send Asks?

Yes, of course. Just don’t be weird. If I get anything mean or freaky then it’s an instant block and I’ll turn off anonymous asks. Though I’m sure I won’t have to do that right? *glares intensely at you*

Fun facts?

My personality is INTP (5w6). I’m a Leo ♌️ my favorite color is blue. I’m genderfluid and my pronouns are he/she but I mainly go by he. I sing! Here’s a lil video of my voice plus a compilation of videos of myself to make it less boring to listen to, even if it’s a little corny lol. I recommend listening with earphones/buds to hear the melodies better (yes I sang themself as well). The sound quality isn’t the best unfortunately. The song is called Persephone by Tamino.

so glad you’re defending all of the IF writers, especially yven! it made me so sad seeing them get treated that way, the IF itself was really special and i would’ve loved to see it, but that’s not even the point, the community destroyed their passion for writing a project that clearly meant a lot to them. they said that they no longer enjoyed meet the robinsons and goob, which was their favorite and that broke my heart, so disappointed in the community for the way people are being treated rn. glad you’re sticking up for people :)

wait whats going on in the IF community????

Just people harassing IF authors to the point that they take down their story and delete their blog. Recently people have been going as far as sexually harassing the author (s). I have a feeling it’s either the same person or a group of people are rage baiting. Either way it’s crazy and gross.

A message and suggestion for @fateunwritten-if and pretty much every interactive fiction writer out there.

I first want to say that I am so sorry you’re getting these awful asks and harassments. I’ve only recently learned that this isn’t anything new and so many IF authors have deleted their story and blog in the past all because of things like this. Just know that myself and others fully support you and your art.

Regarding the suggestion. If you start to get harassment in your asks you should IMMEDIATELY turn off asks. I know some writers may feel bad about doing that but your mental wellbeing is more important than questions. And if you want to turn asks back on or if you really don’t want to turn asks off then I highly, HIGHLY suggest turning off Anonymous asks. All you have to do is go on settings -> scroll down -> and switch off “allow anonymous asks”. This allows people to still send asks but there will no longer be anonymity. I can almost guarantee that this will prevent most of the harassment that writers are getting.

And for readers that think doing that will be “unfair” and “annoying”. You’re exactly the type of people that writers need to avoid and turn off asks for :)

After Septic Saints, who I considered a friend, deleted their blog and story. I would hate to see something like that happen again to another of my favorite writers. So please. Take my advice ❤️ and be safe.

here i am mourning the loss of the author septicsaints, and i find your account with fanart of their characters💔 YOUR ART IS SO GOOD but I miss the author, people can really destroy someone's creativity by just being a freakazoid☹️☹️. I really hope they someday republish the demo (even if if they don't finish so i can replay it over and over.) AND SORRY IF THIS IS SOO OFFTOPIC, your art was just too fantastic and im totally following to see more, but im lowkey crying all over again

No I get it. That’s why I don’t plan on deleting the art. I want there to be happy memories of septic saints and I had so much fun because of Yven and their story and I truly wish them the best. And thanks a lot for compliments!

Did they ever talk about the hates happening on their account?

I’m really sad about it too. Yven was honestly such a refreshing and hilarious person. And they did! They talked about it a few times and were telling people to stop being weird and people kept calling them emotionless and to “act like a person” even though Yven was super sweet and passionate about the project. And then came the weird flirting (bordering on sexual harassment) asks which they also told people it made them uncomfortable. They also made posts about what asks they were comfortable with and which ones they weren’t which people blatantly ignored 🙄 it was bad. People can be brutal for no reason.
