dirty apartment stuff

cleaned up the kitchen sink, which was a nightmare full of dead roaches and piles of borax half an inch high. wore thick gloves gloves and used wet paper towels to remove the borax. i was really worried about accidentally inhaling it or kicking up dust that might land on the food. managed to avoid it, mostly. after that I threw out some of the plasticware that had been in the unused sink far too long and had gotten too slimy.

after I had a clean slate, and a relatively less embarrassing starting point, the exterminator showed up (perfect timing!), and treated the whole apartment for roaches correctly, no more fucking around with folktales and guessing games, I'm relying on professionals for now, especially since the building paid for it.

its still not perfect, but my kitchen is usable for the first time in probably at least three months. i was a fool to let it get that bad, and stay that way for so long, but i would be twice a fool to let it go a single extra day.

what is it with normal stores selling actual sex toys now. who in gods name wants to walk to the front of a CVS carrying one. condoms and lube and whatever are understandable, and not locked up. but these are, so you would have to go find an employee and drag them over to the back of the store unlock it so you could bring it to the self checkout. after taking it out of the cage in front of an employee who was waiting to re-lock it. i'd rather die actually. i remember when there were cigarettes instead of butt plugs in CVS
