there’s something so pure about falling asleep regressed; tucked in soft blankets, stuffie(s) in hand, feeling so tiny and cradled by pure comfort.. almost feels like nothing can hurt you when you’re like that, safe and sound and small ♡

Things other people do that ( personally ) help me regress easier !!
🦢 Talking to me like a child ! Having someone talk to me the same way you would talk to a young child ( using a baby voice , kind of patronizingly , gentle encouragement , avoiding heavier topics ) helps solidify that regressed mindset easily . It also helps a lot when people use nicknames for me such as little bug , little love , little one , sweetie , baby , kiddo , etc .
🐦⬛ Encouraging me to feel my feelings ! When I'm regressed, offering a safe space for me to express how I feel , both positively and negatively , is crucial for me to stay regressed . This includes comforting me during tantrums or reassuring me without being asked to .
🕊️ Taking care of me ! Enforcing some rules to give my day a little routine when regressed helps me feel little . Rules might include : A bedtime , set times for hygiene , rules related to meals , etc . Although I personally don't like rules that are too strict , or these rules being enforced when I'm not regressed . Another part of taking care of me is when people gently encourage me to regress ! I often get scared and hesitant to regress due to my own insecurities , especially when I'm regressing around someone else . Having someone who encourages my regression and is happy to be around me while regressed is amazing. This might include little keywords / phrases that encourage regression as well ( ex. " you're too little for that , " " why dont you go put on [ agere show ] , " " how about you go get your stuffies and get comfy " ) .
♟️ Encouraging / engaging is activities with me ! Putting on a show that helps me regress , treating my stuffed animals / toys as if they're real and have lives of their own , allowing me to ramble about stuff I love , etc all helps me regress ! Another thing is : imaginative play !!! Even if its as big as actively engaging in play or just encouraging me to talk about my toys ( ex . " oh ? the stuffie did what ? why did they do that ? and how did the toy respond ? thats so cool ! ) , it all helps !
☁️ Celebrating achievements ! If I'm regressed and I tell someone something and I seem proud of it / happy about it , it makes me SO happy when they are visibly proud of it / happy with me too ! This can range from things like eating , taking care of myself , or even just finishing a coloring page !
♣️ Encouraging my regression when I'm NOT regressed ! This is a major thing as I have BPD and struggle to believe that people love / care about me . So when someone encourages me to regress ( especially when it's cause they want to take care of me ) it means the whole world to me ! This can be done two ways , either directly asking me to regress or ( my personal favorite ) subtly encouraging me to regress !! Examples of subtle encouragement are : " you seem stressed , little one , do you want to turn on [ agere show ] and get comfy ? " " darling , why dont you take a break from [ stressor ] and color me a picture ? " " i love you , kiddo ! " , etc ) ( even just using petnames and talking to me like a child to encourage me to regress !!! )

self care tips for tinies who struggle with taking care of themselves
this account is a safe space for those who have "gross" habits if you're going to be rude kindly block me
plan out showers ノ baths, if that's too much of a struggle that's okay you can always use baby wipes
use sweet smelling soaps so you smell nice & clean
dry shampoo is a good alternative to washing your hair
use body sprays to smell nice
put flavor packets in water so it tastes good
have granola bars ノ shakes near your bed if you get hungry
keep self care items (baby wipes, body spray, etc) near your bed as motivation to use them
drink water, floss your teeth, or use a disposable toothbrush if brushing your teeth is too hard
take it day by day, sometimes it's easier one day but difficult the next and that's perfectly normal listen to your body & don't force yourself to take care of yourself if it's too much
if you can't fully wash, wash under your armpits
eat an apple for dental hygiene
use flavored toothpaste ノ cool toothbrushes

―୨୧⋆ ˚ tips for regressors struggling with depression and anxiety 🌧️
🧸 one thing that has helped me tremendously has been starting a therapy / mental health journal. you can find prompts online, or even come up with your own ! I find tracking my triggers (what makes me feel upset or anxious), reflecting on how I handled my day, writing my thoughts, and what I'd like to bring up in my next therapy session helps me feel a lot better. ૮ ◞ ﻌ ◟ ა
-- you can take time to learn about your brain and how it makes choices; for example, learning about and researching your trauma responses, mental illnesses and how to ground yourself during panic attacks. sometimes our brain can make us feel or think things that we can't control, so its important to differentiate between what we are telling ourselves and what our brain is telling us.
🫧 be kind to yourself and take time to rest if you need to. Indulge in things you like and find calming activities to do after a hard day such as coloring, doing a fun craft, playing a video game or using play therapy.
🧸 distance yourself from relationships or people that make you feel uncomfortable or are harmful to your mental health. its not mean to say you need space. you can still be friends and have established boundaries, and if someone dose not respect those boundaries its okay to distance yourself from them or take a break from talking to them until you start to feel better and are more capable of saying how important those boundaries are.
🫧 make sticker charts and schedules ! I have one for brushing my teeth. I also use a fun app on my phone called Pokémon Smile that reminds me to brush and sets a timer. ૮₍ ˃ ᵕ ˂ ₎ა
🧸 find little things to look forward to, like a new movie coming out, a birthday or a Holliday you love. sometimes I order little gifts for myself in the mail after doing a big task or getting trough a hard day hehe ! ૮ ◞ ﻌ ◟ ა
🫧 clean your space, and maybe even redecorate a little to give yourself a fresh start 🤍
🧸 find ways to "work around" overwhelming tasks like running errands or going to the doctor by bringing a comfort item or stuffed animal with you. you could keep them in your bag if you are too shy to hold them, but from my experience, no one seems to mind hehe. /lh I also like to pack fidget toys to hold when I get anxious.
note: I'm not a medical professional and I'm just speaking from my experience as someone with generalized anxiety disorder and severe depression. not everything listed here might work for you, but I hope you found this helpful. 💕 /lh

Sometimes I get worried I'll never be good enough to deserve a caregiver. I feel like caregiving is an inherently unequal thing of me letting someone see my weakest side where I can't produce anything to be good enough for them and why would anyone want to support me in that way if I'm not doing something for them in return.

aw, sweetheart, you're not feeling well today? okay, hm, let's try a few things and see if they make you feel a little better, okay?
⋆ have you taken your meds today? if not, please do so. your body might be upset because it doesn't have its medicine!
⭒ drink some water! even just a little can make a huge difference.
⋆ eat something! it doesn't have to be a big meal. a small snack is good, too! getting any kind of fuel in your tummy is better than no fuel at all.
⭒ clean yourself up! a shower or bath can help you relax and feel fresh. if you don't have the energy or motivation for that, it's okay! there's many other ways you can freshen yourself up: brush your hair, brush your teeth, wash your face, put on deodorant, use dry shampoo, wipe yourself down with a wet rag or baby wipes, put on lotion, etc.
⋆ move around! take a walk outside, pace around your room, dance to music you love (you could play a fun game like just dance!), play a game like tag or soccer, or even just stretch while you're in bed! both your body and mind will thank you for getting some movement in.
⭒ tidy your space up! you don't have to do a full deep cleaning of your room. picking up a few things and putting them away is just as good. a cleaner space can improve your mood a ton!
⋆ talk to someone! it can be anyone: a friend, a family member, a partner, a caregiver, or even someone new. talk about your interests, a show, the weather, or whatever else you feel like! having someone to talk to can make you feel less lonely and a lot happier.
⭒ do something that makes you happy! you can enjoy a hobby you love, or try a new hobby. you could watch a movie, read a book, or play a game. whatever you want, kiddo!
⋆ get some sleep! having a consistent bedtime and getting over 8 hours of sleep is very important for a little mind like yours. you can always grab your favorite stuffies and take a nap during the day. they'd love to cuddle with you while you get some rest!
i hope you feel better soon, sweetheart!

lets show some love to the regressors who...
note: slight mentions of trauma/mental health issues - can only do/feel comfortable with non-physical punishments - feel uncomfortable with calling carers daddy, having a masc presenting one - feel uncomfortable using parental names - are very sensitive in their headspace and need constant reassurance - have impure regression, or use regression to cope with mental health problems - have trauma is linked to their regressing - have age regression blocks or periods that there's a lot of regressing, and then none (you're still a regressor -fellow one who does this) - when tiny, struggle to self-regulate and feel a lot of big feelings intensely - have a lot, or mostly involuntary regression that's really bumpy- switching from little age to little age - regress so tiny, that they also get frustrated with the effects (ex: upset it's hard to use your words, or can't walk around without stumbling/bumping into things -also me) - have big or intrusive thoughts while tiny - are flips (you don't have to be big, let alone a caregiver all the time) - feel tiny, but not tiny enough for most activities (like too big for coloring, dolls, cartoon, etc)
As someone who also struggles with most of these things, I think it's important to talk about them. Yes, they don't fit the "cutesy pinterest tiktok agere" people are used to, but regression is different for everyone. I just wanna say, you're not alone.

tips and tricks for first time carers
so here’s a short this I’ve compiled on some tips and tricks for all you first time caregivers!!!
Do your reasearch!! Age regression is a very interesting and *real* thing. I highly recommend researching on health websites and then also on places like tumblr to see what regression can look like
ask your little questions. Ask them why the regress, what they like or don’t like, when they usually regress and how often, what you can do as a caregiver. And any general questions you may have!
be patient, being a caregiver is a learning curve. And it may take a while for your little to fully be comfortable being small around you. Also be patient when it comes to your tiny; they may be hyper or whiny.
remember to take time for yourself. Being a carer can be a lot, and sometimes mentally draining. Remember to practice self love and healthy habits so you can be happy and so you can help keep your tiny happy
develop boundaries. You and your little should both communicate boundaries between eachother. Does this bother you when they’re little? Do you really like it when they do that? Or do you dislike it? Come up with boundaries between you and your tiny, they can be as simple or complex as you guys need.
be kind. Even if your strict with rules, still be kind to your tiny. They cannot help it sometimes if they break rules or throw a fit. Never ever lash out at your little one.
if you have anything questions feel free to send me an ask, DM, or leave a comment! also comment any other tips you have!!! love ya’ll <3

its been said before but regression is not always pretty. us regressors usually do so to escape stress but regression itself can be very stressful, just in a different way.
we can want our cgs so bad it hurts, we can hate the rules and doing whats best for ourselves when we dont want to, we can struggle with the right words and identifying our emotions and get frustrated.
dont be too hard on yourself for having a bad time in your regressed headspace. you were a kid, and you were doing the best you could. and you are not alone <3
