From the Clutches of the Red Dragon's Lair CHAPTER TWO (on Ao3!)

Folks it's here, and it's queer. Despite the wolfstarbucks tag and the opening of the chapter itself, this might be one of the most moonchaser thing I've ever written. (that WILL change.) So it's fitting I'm posting it on the @buckfullmoon !!

Start from the beginning here. Chapter two snippet below the cut!

Remus smiled brightly.  “I won’t go far, you know I want to always hear your voice after all.  Stay by the horses and keep talking to me.  It would be good for us to find water, I don’t want us to go too long without at least knowing where it is.”

“Don’t you worry, I can talk all day.” They both laughed at the truth of the statement and Remus began to walk away, their water containers in one hand and his compass clutched tightly in the other.  Before he was even out of sight, James was singing some ridiculous song.

“You ought to save your singing voice for courting someone!  The prince, perhaps!”  Remus called back, interrupting James’ song with a laugh.

“Moony, you know this song is special just for you!”  Remus could only laugh again as the song resumed.

The full moon has just officially risen a few minutes ago (on the East Coast of the US anyway...) and it is a supermoon! Go check out that big beauty if you can and keep enjoying the celebration...

Remus woke up slowly, cocooned on the couch, light so gently filtered he questioned if it was still daytime. He was sleep warm, floating on the cushions like they were made of clouds that had been tied to the ground. Opening his eyes one at a time, he looked around.

He was inside a blanket fort. Again. 

A blanket fort that had not existed when he fell asleep for a midmorning nap. (Again.)

Remus let out a sound somewhere between a laugh and sigh, further twisted around a name. Even to Remus’ own tired ears it sounded like adoration.

“James.”
