Have some cute weird webtoons that need more love! Initially I was just going to link to Anomaly Epoch (which is very unique but doesn't seem to get any attention at all), but then I thought of four more. :B Space Pack and Camp Beastie are both completed, and If We seems to be on hiatus but is still worth a look just for its beautiful aesthetic.

I love Mary-Sues! The "cringe" is just an exotic spice that adds character to the unbridled creative enthusiasm. X'D

(…I had one when I was a kid who was very much me, was not-dating Z64 Link, and spent most of her weekends mooching off either Elrond or Puddleglum. Also I think she had a robot arm??? And she made her own Powerpuff Girls. And had a crossover magical girl team. It was so beautifully insane.)

And I still like over-the-top characters and ridiculous scenarios, even now. ;)

I need- not want, NEED- to see more disgustingly self-inserted fan fictions. I need more unabashed Mary Sues. Blatantly disregard canon. Make someone else’s franchise your bitch. Be disgustingly self-aware. I want to see your 2am-listening-to-obscure-soundtracks-to-guide-my-nocturnal-daydreams storylines. Sprinkle in some memes we’ll forget in 2 years. Give me absurd crossovers because The Shire and Wife Swap can coexist. Hell, make your least favorite person irl the villain. You’re the main character and you’re hot. You have no split ends. You’re a simp and you’re not ashamed. It’s not cringe, it’s camp. Give it all to me

That's honestly kind of disturbingly spot-on. There's so much that could be high-falutin' or wants to be high-falutin', but the characters constantly ruin it by doing their frail, human soap opera stuff. :I

The next Arthurian adaptation needs to be a soap opera. There’s more than enough material to just keep going for seasons and seasons. Let Arthuriana shine in it’s absurd drama and bizarre stories. Let Guinevere have her evil twin! Soap opera is the most correct medium to tell Arthurian stories, I know it’s true

So it turns out Weird Tales and its ilk tend to be pretty hit-or-miss. And half the hits are by Poe.

After reading the impressively hysterical "The Room in the Tower" by D. L. Radway (not to be confused with the much better "The Room in the Tower" by E. F. Benson), I decided to vent my frustration through Spongebob faces, because it just seemed more proper than enacting cowboy justice on an author who's probably already dead. :)
