Listen man, I’m in 2 minds on the Acolyte not getting an S2.
On one hand it definitely tried something new, a story set completely away from the rebellion and the empire and I would have liked more of that.
On the other, it just wasn’t a very good season of TV with a bit of a nonsensical plot and some atrocious acting in parts

I really wish that remakes/legacy sequels stopped treat absolutely everything from the original with reverance.
I’m rewatching the original Star Wars and the amount of things that are clearly mundane aspects of the world are treated like holy knowledge. The clothes Ben Kenobi wears are clearly for living in a desert yet every sequel decided that it would be the dress of the entire jedi order or that Mos Eisley is just meant to be a generic bad town yet every disney+ show has to come up with a reason to go back there

A bit conspiratorial from me, but I think the big push towards Rotten Tomatos as THE review site is because studios have found how easy it is to make stuff look better by just letting "critics" from WeLoveProduct.com contribute to the score

Good Omens 2 was an enjoyable watch but the lack of Terry Pratchett in the writing could absolutely be felt, it was missing his wit from s1

What dirt does Gal Gadot have on Warner Bros because how are you going to reboot the entire DC universe and recast everyone only to keep objectively the worst actor who's coming off one of the worst films

Haven't seen the Flash movie and have no plans to but it's insane how much bad press can surround 1 movie.
From the insane amount of reshoots to dragging in Michael Keaton to offensive use of AI to ressurrect dead people who would have not wanted any part of it to basically everything involving Ezra Miller.

Maybe it's just because I'm jaded but finally getting Young Justice back after 6 years only for the show to introduce twice as many characters and be just as far from resolving the main plot as when it was first cancelled is annoying as hell
Like if my show was only brought back after massive fan support but was still constantly close to cancellation i would simply get to the point and finish before I couldn't

I'm glad they revived the Skate series but I really do think that people who loved Skate 3 are going to be dissappointed. Half the popularity of that game came from just how broken and buggy it was and I don't think they'll be able to recapture that intentionally

Just started Witcher season 3, gonna do thoughts each episode.
Ep 1:
U can see they're clearly struggling with the fact that the main "child" is now played by a 21 year old
The costume budget is loose change and a dream
Because of how Ciri doesn't look like a child, the relationship between Yenn & Geralt and Ciri feel less parental and more siblings
Don't know if it's contact lenses or CGI, but the eyes look real goofy
Robbie Amell whispering to hide his american accent is hilarious
Vizimir feels like he's out of Horrible Histories
I see the CGI budget matches the costume budget
Glad the show knows what the audience wants, Henry Cavill sword fights
Some heavy set up for the season
Overall; 7/10

The description of TV shows that have out of place preachy dialogue for basically no reason as "Direct-to-GIF" is very appropriate

me watching cyberpunk edgerunnes: man i hope this show doesn’t have a happy ending, it would suck and would be an antithesis to everything cyberpunk stands for
the show: *doesn’t have a happy ending*

After watching some House of the Dragon, it reminded me that the showrunners of Game of Thrones speedran the writing of the last 2 seasons so they could go make a Star Wars trilogy only for the seasons to be so bad that they cancelled the movies
Hilarious case of karma

I love that the Suicide Squad literally has a joke about too many people with similar powers on the same team and then Thunderbolts completely sincerely put 5 people with similar powers on the same team 2 years later

I need people to stop blaming the death of movies on “quips”. A quip is just a funny line of dialogue. That’s all. Like I just saw a post talking about quips and the death of movies and brought up Pirates of the Caribbean as an example of a better movie and yes it is but also that movie is FULL OF QUIPS. I just rewatched The Princess Bride. It’s all quips. Every single line. And it’s a masterpiece.
Movies suck when people don’t care about the art they’re making. That includes them not caring about their quips. Which is why a lot of comic relief dialogue ALSO sucks now. But the problem isn’t that funny dialogue exists.
