big fan of eating a good and delectable slice of cake every now and then. added joy when you have a loved one who also orders a different slice of cake, and then you switch back and forth with every once in a while. let them eat cake and let them have it too.

this broccoli dish is dessert-inspired, with the added bonus of including some etymological info in the recipe description. check it out here, and maybe make some other timbales later, too! 🥦

delayed post, now in celebration of tortellini and broccoli salad. I think that tortellini is a delightful pasta, a more curvy version of our old friend ravioli. what could be a more delightful way to dress it up than with the artistic addition of some broccoli? 🥦

today I am struck by the simple joy of sending a friend something you found while scrolling that brought them to your mind, and their joy in response to being thought of. what nice mutuality to share in recognition of personhood :)

for this late night edition of the broccoli smorgasbord, have some broccoli purée. while I am personally a big fan of the crunchy texture of broccoli, this dish does seem visually appealing and perhaps compensatory for the lack of crunchiness. 🥦

today has been a very stressful day, but at least the beauty of nature abounds. was on my walk outside earlier and the weight on my chest was lessened by the sight of brilliant crimson leaves glowing in the late morning sunlight. what a raucous show of beauty, and I get to see it. sensational.

I’m a big fan of bread, so broccoli bread seems like it could be an interesting endeavor. could maybe join the top bread tier with brioche and kings Hawaiian rolls. 🥦

this evening, please take a moment to observe this beef and broccoli stir fry dish. this is one of my favorite forms of broccoli consumption, and brings me fond memories of the local Chinese restaurant. 🥦

and for today’s more timely broccoli post, here’s a more agricultural slant on the vegetable. in particular, I like the staging and composition of this photo, centering on the floret as surrounded by an elegant sprawling of leaves. 🥦

young love is just like let me give you as much of my soul as I can while we can, and hoping that “can” is forever.

missed yesterday’s post, here’s a nice broccoli soup to meet your broccoli needs. I like the nice green color and staging. have questions about the inclusion of Greek yogurt, but could be very good. 🥦

this is the first thanksgiving that I don’t have any grandparents left to go visit. it feels a little odd, not making that afternoon drive to the nursing home, like a piece of the tradition is missing. there are other ways to remember them, to be happy and be thankful. I suppose also I could marry and have grandparents in law. but for right now, there’s a sensation of untetheredness, even as I do feel more closely bound to the family I am with.

today’s broccoli post is a nice parmesan-roasted dish from Food Network. what better way to give thanks and express gratitude than by sharing a nice dish of broccoli with the family/friends closest to you, with the added benefit of cheese?
anyways, happy thanksgiving everyone 🥦

sending risky texts but it’s just messaging “happy thanksgiving!! 🍁🍽️🦃” to someone who I am not sure will say it back
