today I am struck by the simple joy of sending a friend something you found while scrolling that brought them to your mind, and their joy in response to being thought of. what nice mutuality to share in recognition of personhood :)

for this late night edition of the broccoli smorgasbord, have some broccoli purée. while I am personally a big fan of the crunchy texture of broccoli, this dish does seem visually appealing and perhaps compensatory for the lack of crunchiness. 🥦

today has been a very stressful day, but at least the beauty of nature abounds. was on my walk outside earlier and the weight on my chest was lessened by the sight of brilliant crimson leaves glowing in the late morning sunlight. what a raucous show of beauty, and I get to see it. sensational.

I’m a big fan of bread, so broccoli bread seems like it could be an interesting endeavor. could maybe join the top bread tier with brioche and kings Hawaiian rolls. 🥦

this is the first thanksgiving that I don’t have any grandparents left to go visit. it feels a little odd, not making that afternoon drive to the nursing home, like a piece of the tradition is missing. there are other ways to remember them, to be happy and be thankful. I suppose also I could marry and have grandparents in law. but for right now, there’s a sensation of untetheredness, even as I do feel more closely bound to the family I am with.

today’s broccoli post is a nice parmesan-roasted dish from Food Network. what better way to give thanks and express gratitude than by sharing a nice dish of broccoli with the family/friends closest to you, with the added benefit of cheese?
