Summary: You’re dating Jack Avery from Why Don’t We. There are a lot of ups and downs but you guys love each other endlessly. However, the more and more Jack is on tour, the harder it is on you. Will your relationship last through the long distance?

*part 1*

“You look beautiful today babe” Jack said over FaceTime.

“Thank you, you don’t look too bad yourself handsome” I said

“I miss you so much y/n. I wish I was there with you right now. It’s just not the same without you here with me.” Jack frowned.

“I know baby, but this is your dream.”

“My dream doesn’t mean anything without you”

“I’m still here Jack. I’m just not next to you. I know you’re going to do great things with the boys. You guys already have millions of fans! Yes, it sucks that I can’t be with you, but I love you so much. So please be strong for me. Keep your head up high” I smiled

“I love you so much. Thank you for always encouraging me and supporting my dream” Jack smiled

“No problem baby. I’m always in your corner no matter what”

“C’mon Jack we have to get ready for rehearsal!” I hear Zach yell over the phone. Jack frowned and looked at me.

“Sorry babe, I gotta go”

“Go kick some ass. I love you” I smiled

“I love you too y/n. I’ll call you later, bye” jack said as he blew me a kiss and hung up the phone. Truth is, it does hurt that he’s not here. Long distance is so hard. But, just being able to see him smile and hear him laugh is enough to get me through my day.

“Hey y/n?” I hear my best friend Dayna say.

“Yeah?” I said looking up

“You wanna go to the zoo? I’m bored and you look sad”

“Yeah, that sounds great. Thanks Dayna” I smile

“No problem, lets get going but grab a sweater, it’s a little chilly outside.” I grab one of Jack’s sweaters he left me and grabbed my purse. I put on my vans and waited for Dayna to be ready. Once we were ready we got in Dayna’s car and started driving. “So are you gonna tell me why you’re sad?”

“I just miss him” I stated.

“Jack?” She asked

“Yeah.”

“When does he come home next?”

“A little over a month I believe” I frowned

“Well, that’s not too bad. It could be a lot worse” Dayna said

“Yeah, I know. I just wish he was here. I miss being cuddled and I miss the little forehead kisses he gives me”

“Well, I’ll be Jack til he comes back. I’ll cuddle you and give you forehead kisses” She smirked

“Bet!” I laughed “Thank you for cheering me up. You’re the best”

“Hey, it’s my job. I’m always here for you”

“I know” I smiled. We finally arrived to the zoo and we both wanted to see the elephants first. Eventually we made our way over to the Giraffes.

“Look! It’s Daniel!” I yelled as I pointed at one of the Giraffes. Dayna laughed and rolled her eyes. We continued to walk around and decided to sit on a bench next to a pond. I was watching the ducks swim around the water and just smiled at the beautiful sight.

“Damn, Corbyn is a good swimmer” Dayna said.

“What?” I looked at her confused. She pointed at one of the ducks.

“Ya know, cause Corbyn looks like a duck” Dayna laughed. I laughed along with her til tears started rolling down my face.

“Why are we like this?” I laughed

“Why do the boys look like animals!?”

“Well, at least my boyfriend doesn’t look like any of these animals”

“True. Now come on let’s finish seeing all of the animals.” Dayna said

“Let’s go!” We walked around and saw all of the animals. I sent Jack a bunch of pictures of the cute animals.

“You ready to go?” Dayna asked

“Yeah, lets go” Dayna drove me back to my apartment that I shared with Jack and dropped me off. “Bye, thank you for driving. Love you!”

“Love you too!” Dayna yelled then drove away. I went inside and started to call Jack. I just need to hear his voice right now. It dialed but I got no response. I frowned and sat down on the couch and turned on my favorite tv show. I started dozing off and before I knew it , it was already 11pm. I turned the lights off and started heading to bed. Then my phone rang. I looked at it and it was Jack calling. I immediately answered the FaceTime.

“Hey baby!” I yelled before even looking at the phone. Then realizing it was Daniel calling on Jacks phone.

“Sorry y/n, I’m not Jack but I’ll give the phone to him in a minute. But I have a bone to pick with you missy” Daniel squinted his eyes at me.

“What, why? What did I do?” I asked

“YOU TOOK A PICTURE OF A GIRAFFE AND SENT IT TO JACK WITH THE TITLE OF ‘DANIEL IN HIS NATURAL HABITAT’! YOU KNOW HOW MUCH HE’S BEEN MAKING FUN OF ME NOW! I thought we were friends y/n” Daniel said as he started to fake cry. I laughed at how dumb Daniel was acting.

“Now get outta hear, I wanna talk to my girl” Jack said as he came into view. “Hey baby”

“Hi Jack” I smiled.

“How was your day?” He asked

“It was alright. Basically spent the entire day with Dayna at the zoo.”

“Sounds like fun baby”

“Yeah it was. How was the show?” I asked

“It was crazy! The fans were so loud and so friendly. Jonah fell on his ass during Come to Brazil. It was so funny” Jack laughed.

“Omg, is he okay!?”

“Yeah, he’s fine. Just bruised his ego a bit” he laughed.

“Hey! I heard that” Jonah yelled over the phone

“Anyways babe, I got to go. Just wanted to call and say goodnight.” Jack said

“Oh, okay. Goodnight”

“I love you y/n”

“Love you too Jack.” I said as I hung up the phone. I don’t know why I felt so sad. Something about that phone call broke my heart. I’m probably just overreacting. So I headed to bed and cuddled jacks pillow til I fell asleep.

“I love you too Corbyn. So much”

“Then be mine y/n” Corbyn said.

“Wait, What?” I asked

“Look, I know it’s sudden, and you and Jonah just broke up. But y/n the day we broke up was the worst day of my life. I didn’t say anything cause I knew you needed to figure things out. And when you got with Jonah... my heart broke. He’s my best friend so I supported him and I saw that he made you happy. But, now that he fucked you over I want you to see that I would never do that to you. I would never put you in the same situation that Jo did. I swear to you that we can make the distance work and we will be happy together. If you don’t want to be with me, that’s fine. But, I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if I didn’t at least try to win you back” Corbyn said as he looked me dead in the eyes. I was always extremely happy with Corbyn. Distance was our downfall though. Could I put that all behind me? Could I start new with Corbyn?

“Corbyn... I...” I stopped. No idea what to say next. Without thinking I grabbed his face and kissed him. “I’d love to be your girlfriend.. again” I smiled. He returned the smile and kissed me again. “But I swear to god if you break my heart imma break your face”

“I have no intentions of breaking your heart sweetie” he laughed

“Good, now lets get some food. I’m starving.” We left the golf course and went to a near by restaurant. We walked in and our host lead us to our table. I ordered a sweet tea and Corbyn ordered a water. As we were looking over the menus, I hear a familiar voice. I look up and see Jonah sitting at a table with a girl. “What are the fucking odds”

“What?” Corbyn says as he looks up looking confused. I point to Jonah. “What the fuck? Hold on I got this”

“No, Corbyn it’s okay. You don’t have to” I said

“Just watch y/n I’ll handle it” Corbyn said as he got up and walked over to Jonah’s table. “Hey Jonah! What are you doing here?”

“Oh, hey Corbyn. This is my friend Kallie”

“Nice to meet you Kallie. I’m Corbyn.” He said as he shook Kallie’s hand

“What are you doing here Corbs?” Jonah asked

“Oh, I’m just here with my girlfriend.” Corbyn smiled. He’s a sneaky one, I’ll give him that.

“Who’s your girlfriend?” Jonah asked, clearly confused.

“Y/n” he said as he pointed in my direction. Jonah made eye contact with me and I hid my face in my menu.

“Are you fucking kidding me Besson!” That’s my fucking girl” Jonah yelled

“Actually, she’s mine now cause you cheated on her”

“I don’t believe you. She wouldn’t go back to you”

“Why not?” Corbyn asked

“Because you guys already dated before. She doesn’t like you like that anymore.” Jonah said

“That’s why she kissed me right? Cause she doesn’t like me like that?”

“What the fuck is your problem Corbyn” Jonah yelled as he stood up from his seat.

“My problem is how you treated y/n like garbage. You threw a beautiful girl out for some skank.” At this point I walked up to Jonah and Corbyn and stood in between them.

“Guys, please stop. People are staring” I said

“Y/n, please tell me it’s not true. Please tell me you’re not with Corbyn.” Jonah said. His eyes starting to water.

“It’s true Jonah... I’m with Corbyn now” I said. Avoiding eye contact with him.

“Wh-why? Why did it have to be Corbyn” Jonah cried

“Jo- it’s not like that. Corbyn made me happy before you were ever in the picture.” I explained

“Yeah, but you guys broke up for a reason. Remember?”

“Yeah, but so did we. I’m sorry that you found out like this, but please respect us.” I said. Jonah looked at me for a few seconds before heading over towards Corbyn.

“Corbyn... please don’t hurt her like I did... make her happy. And keep her happy. She deserves nothing but the best” Jonah said as he held his hand out for Corbyn.

“I promise I won’t hurt her.” Corbyn replied and they both hugged. Jonah turned and looked at me again.

“I’m sorry for hurting you y/n. I want nothing but the best for you” he said as he kissed my forehead.

“I’m sorry for ruining your lunch” Corbyn said looking at Kallie.

“Oh, don’t worry about it. I’m just his friend. He’s literally like a brother to me.” Kallie said. With that Kallie and Jonah left the restaurant. Corbyn and I decided to order our food and leave. We drive back to Corbyn’s place and watched tv for the rest of the day. I’m currently cuddled up with Corbyn Matthew Besson. A guy I thought I would never be with again. I feel like fate has really pulled us towards each other for a reason. I have a feeling that this is the guy I’m going to spend the rest of my life with, and I couldn’t be happier. He is my forever.

*your POV*

Waking up next to Jonah was weird. I still loved him but every time I look at him my heart breaks. When I look at him, I see him in bed with another girl. I want to be with him so bad, but I don’t know if I can forgive him.

“Hey y/n?” Jonah asked

“Yeah?”

“Did you wanna do something? We can go to the movies, or go ice skating, maybe go for a walk or something?”

“I kinda promised Corbyn that I would spend the day with him today.” I said

“Why?” Jonah asked, looking upset.

“Cause we’re friends. And I miss hanging out with him.”

“Friends? That’s why you were laying your head in his chest yesterday.”

“Excuse me? Why is that any of your concern? Yeah, I laid my head in his chest because I was ab emotional wreck because you cheated on me. So we cuddled during a movie and fell asleep.” I said angrily

“How could you do that to me? He’s my best friend”Jonah yelled

“Are you fucking serious right now!? I broke up with you after I found out you cheated. Plus, I dated Corbyn before I ever dated you. He actually gives a fuck about me. Unlike you. So go ahead Jonah. Try and make me look like the bad person here. But I’m done. I’m done with you and I’m done trying to make things work with us. So go back to your little slut. I hope she can please you better than I did.” I screamed as I turned to walk away

“Y/n wait” Jonah said as he grabbed my wrist. I just look at him. Trying my best not to cry

“I’m sorry. I know I’m in the wrong here. I was just ma because the thought of you with another guys makes me sick” Jonah said

“How do you think I feel.” I said as I broke out of his grip.

“Baby, please. I’m sorry. I swear I’m going to do everything in my power to make it up to you.”

“Save it Jonah. I don’t have time for this”

“Wait can I say one more thing before you leave me?” Jonah asked as tears stated coming out of his eyes.

“What” I said coldly

“I-I love you y/n. I always fucking will. And I’m going to regret what I did to you til the day I die” he cried.

“You don’t love me...” I cried as I turned around and walked out the door and to my car. I started driving as tears were flooding out. I just kept driving til I reached Corbyn’s house. I got out of the car and knocked on his door. Corbyn answered the door with his signature smile.

“Hey y/n I’m glad you’re here” Corbyn smiled. When I saw him I flew my arms around him and started crying into his chest. “Hey... what happened?”

“Long story, but things are finally done between me and Jonah” I sobbed

“I’m so sorry y/n” he said as he started running his hands through my hair, knowing it always calms me down.

“Thank you for always being here for me Corbs. You mean so much to me”

“Y/n, I’m always going to be here for you. Now lets go mini golfing and get your mind off of Jonah” Corbyn said

“Okay” I smiled. He always knew what to say and do to make me feel better. He grabbed my hand and led me out the door and to his car. He opened the car door for me and I thanked him for the gesture. We drive to the mini golf court and got our balls and putter.

“Ready for me to kick your ass?” Corbyn smirked

“The only ass that’s gonna get kicked is yours buddy”

“We’ll see about that” he winked. We walked to our first course.

“Ladies first” Corbyn said

“Take notes” I replied. I hit the ball and to my surprise it went in the hole on my first try! “Ayyyyye hole in one!” I screamed

“Damn baby, you are good!” Corbyn cheered

“Wait, did you just call me baby?” I asked

“I uh I shit. Sorry I didn’t mean to”

“No no it’s okay. It reminds me of how we used to be” I smiled. “Anyway, it’s your turn”

“You’re right, wish me luck” Corbyn said. I leaned in and kissed him on the cheek and whispered good luck. His face turned so red. It was adorable. Corbyn took his turn and he missed the first time, but got it the second time. We continued playing some more. I got worse and worse as the day was going by. I love spending time with Corbyn. He’s always so goofy and charming. Before I knew it, we were on our last course. “Come on y/n, you got this” Corbyn cheered me on.

“I need some encouragement.” I smiled at Corbyn.

“You want some encouragement?”

“Mhm” I nodded. Corbyn walked closer to me and leaned his face down towards mine. Our lips were inches apart. I was craving his kiss.

“Get a hole in one, and I’ll kiss you”

“WHAT?” THAT’S NOT FAIR” I yelled

“You got this” Corbyn smiled and placed a kiss on my forehead. It was the hardest course yet. I was examining the course. I wanted to get a hole in one cause I need Corbyn’s kiss right now. Here goes nothing. I swung and hit the ball. It looked like it wasn’t gonna make it. It spun around the rim of the hole and eventually fell in.

“I DID IT” I cheered. I ran up to Corbyn and jumped in his arms. He spun me around and laughed

“Congratulations baby” he smiled as he kissed me hard and passionately. He broke the kiss and looked at me. “I love you y/n. I never stopped loving you”

*Corbyn’s POV*

I wake and realize that y/n is still in my arms. I can’t help but smile. It’s been so long since we’ve been like this. I’ve always loved her, things were just complicated. It breaks my heart seeing her so sad like this. I wish I could take all of her pain away, just so she’ll be happy. I love Jonah and everything but I want to fucking destroy him for hurting y/n like this. She doesn’t deserve the hurt he gave her. I heard my phone buzz and saw Jonah’s name pop up.

“Hello?”

“Hey Corbyn... is um y/n there?” Jonah asked

“Yeah” I said sternly

“Can I talk to her...?”

“I don’t think that’s a good idea right now Jo”

“Please Corbyn. I know she’s in the guest bedroom. Bro I’m begging you. Just let me talk to her” Jonah pleaded

“She’s not in the guest bedroom. She’s sleeping on my chest”

“S-she’s what...?” Jonah said sounding hurt.

“Yeah we fell asleep on the couch together” I told Jonah.

“Why would you do that to me!?” Jonah yelled

“You destroyed her Jonah. You fucking broke her heart. How are you going to live with that” I yelled back. There was silence on the phone and I heard Jonah crying.

“I have no excuses, I fucking love her. I hate myself for what I did to her. But please, I already lost her, I can’t lose you too” Jonah cried. I took a deep breath trying not to lose my cool

“I’m not going anywhere Jo. I’m just pissed right now. You’re still my brother” I reassured him. We talked for a little bit longer and after a couple of minutes we hung up.

“Was that Jonah?” I hear y/n mumble

“Yeah, he wanted to talk to you” I said

“I should probably meet up with him sometime today”

“What? Why?” I asked

“I never really gave him a chance to explain himself. I don’t know if I wanna be with him still, but I’ll at least give him the chance to explain everything to me” she replied

“Makes sense, I guess. Just be careful I don’t want you to get hurt again”

“Awww Corbyn. Don’t worry, I’ll be careful.” Y/n said as she reached up and kissed me on the cheek. I wanted so bad to bring her closer to me so I could kiss her on the lips.

“Y/n?” I asked. Saying fuck it to myself.

“Yeah?” She asked as I cupped her face in my hands and kissed her. To my surprise, she kissed me back. It reminded me of old times, back when she was my girl. Why the fuck did I ever want to let her go. “What was that for?”

“Just wanted to remind you that you have me. If things don’t work out with Jonah, I’m here” I said

“Thank you bean” she said as she gave me a quick peck. “I’ll most likely be back later, if that’s alright”

“You’re always welcomed here hun” I said. With that y/n got up and walked towards the door. Giving me a quick smile before walking out the door. “Fuck!” I yelled.

*Your POV*

I left Corbyn’s apartment and had a lot on my mind. He kissed me! His kiss felt like home. It wasn’t until he kissed me that I realized how much I missed him. He’s always been there for me, even after we broke up. You don’t find that a lot. I called an Uber and had them drive me to mine and Jonah’s place. I was extremely nervous going there cause I don’t know what he’s gonna say. I arrived at our apartment and paid the Uber, then started walking towards the door. Once I got to our door I knocked and waited for an answer. Just then Jonah opened the door.

“Y/n!?” Jonah cheered

“C-can I come in?” I asked

“Of course, you still live here” he smiled

“Thanks” I said as I walked into the apartment.

“I’m glad you’re here, but what brings you here?” Jonah asked

“I figured I would give you a chance to explain yourself.”

“Okay babe. I’ll tell you anything you want to know. But first can I show you something?”

“Um sure” I said. I followed Jonah into our kitchen.

“I wasn’t expecting you to be here so soon, but I was hoping you would stop by, so I did this for you. And I know it’s never gonna make up for what I did to you, but I wanted to show you that I do still love you and I do still care about you. I looked around and was amazed. There was a bouquet of sunflowers and roses (my favorite), my favorite candies, laying on the counter was a box filled with bath bombs, candles, bath salts, and a note that said “I’m sorry I suck, forgive me?” He also had my favorite wine.

“Jo-“ I started

“Oh wait, I almost forgot!” Jonah said as he turned off the kitchen lights and revealed fairy lights all over our kitchen ceiling. It was so breathtakingly beautiful. Jonah then went and grabbed his guitar and started singing.

“Every time we got closer, I pushed you away

Let me show you why, for real” Jonah sang, he started crying in middle of the song and stopped. “I love you y/n. I can’t do this without you.”

“Then why did you cheat? Why wasn’t I good enough for you?” I cried.

“Oh baby, you’ve always been more than good enough. If anything, I’m not good enough for you.”

“Why Jonah. Why did you do it?” I cried. Tears were coming down my face so hard that I couldn’t see.

“I swear to God I didn’t mean to. I-I was drunk and there was this girl. She kept whispering shit in my ear and she was getting in my head. Before I knew it I was surrounded and she pulled me outside. I-I blacked out and I woke up in her bedroom... she was in her bra and underwear and she got in the bed and gave me this fucking hickey. I-I didn’t stop her. I don’t know why. And then-she uh she asked me to have sex with her. I swear I didn’t mean to, I was so drunk that I thought we were together and not her.” Jonah explained through tears

“Did she look like me?” I asked

“Well, no but-“

“Then how the hell did you think that was me with you”

“Y/n I don’t know!” He cried. He walked up in front of me and got down on his knees. Resting his head on my shoes. “I’m so so so sorry baby. I promise if you give me another chance I’ll earn your trust back, I’ll make you the happiest girl in the world.”

“Get up” I said. Jonah stood up and looked down at me. Without thinking I wrapped my arms around him and buried my face into his chest and started crying. Jonah rested his head on top of mine and hugged me back tighter.

“I love you y/n”

“I love you too Jo. But I haven’t decided if I want to stay with you or not” Jonah didn’t say anything he just held me. “Have you had any sleep?” I asked

“No, every time I closed my eyes I saw you leaving me...” Jonah said

“Jonah, you need to sleep.”

“I can’t fall asleep without you in my arms. It’s too hard. Could you-could you maybe stay the night with me?” Jonah asked

“Jo- I don’t think that’s a good idea”

“Please y/n. Especially if there’s a possibility we won’t be together. Can I just have this one last night with you?” He pleaded.

“Just for tonight. I guess” I said “I have to call Corbyn though”

“Okay. Thank you baby”. I called Corbyn and told him that I was staying with Jonah. He was not too thrilled about that. I promised him I would come over in the morning and we will spend all day together.

“Hey, you ready for bed?” Jonah asked

“Yeah, lets go”. Jonah and I layer down in bed. Jonah was sleeping shirtless like he always does, and I laid my head on his chest. This very well could be the last night together. We both needed this.

“Goodnight y/n”

“Goodnight Jo” and with that we fell asleep.

“I-I can’t believe you” I stutter

“Y/n please. I didn’t mean to I swear. You’re the only girl I love.” Jonah pleaded

“No Jonah. You clearly don’t love me. If you did you wouldn’t go behind my back and sleep with another girl.”

“No babe. I promise it was an accident.”

“So, you’re telling me that your dick accidentally slipped into another girls vagina” I said with anger shooting out of me.

“I-I was drunk. I didn’t know what I was doing” Jonah cried

“Solid excuse.” I rolled my eyes.

“Babe. Please. I swear I love you more than anything. You’re the only person I want to be with. I hate myself so much for what I did to you, but please don’t leave me. I-I can’t live without you. You’re everything to me.”

“No, Jonah I’m clearly not. I’ll pack my shit and be on my way” I said as I started to walk towards our room

“No, y/n please!” Jonah said as he grabbed my arm to prevent me from walking away. I looked up at him and i watched him cry. I then pulled my arm out of his grip and walked away. Before I knew it I was calling someone.

“Hello?” Corbyn answered

“H-hey” I cried

“Y/n what happened? Why are you crying”

“He cheated Corbyn. He slept with another girl”

“He WHAT” Corbyn yelled. “I know he’s my best friend but I’m going to kill him”

“No, it’s okay. But um could I maybe sleep over tonight” I asked

“Of course, you’re always welcomed here”

“Thanks bean. I’ll be there soon. I just have to pack my stuff.” I said

“I’ll come get you and help you pack” Corbyn said

“Thank you so much” I cried. I hung up with Corbyn and locked the door so Jonah wouldn’t come in. I grabbed my suitcase and started packing my stuff.

*10 minutes later*

Corbyn arrives and knocks on the front door.

“What are you doing here?” Jonah asks as he answers the door.

“I’m here for y/n since you fucked up big time.” Corbyn answered

“Come on man. It was an accident. You know how much I love her.”

“Obviously you don’t love her that much” Corbyn replied. “Anyway I’m going to go check on her.” I hear footsteps heading towards my door and a knock followed

“Who is it?” I asked

“Corbyn.” I unlocked the door for him and let him in. Locking the door behind him. I immediately hugged me and I cried into his chest. He started playing with my hair

“Shhhhh, it’s gonna be okay. Please don’t cry” Corbyn said as he was trying to calm me down.

“Thank you for being here for me Corbs, you mean the world to me” I say.

“I’ll always be here for you. Now come let’s get packed. Then I’m buying you some ice cream.” I laughed as I wiped my tears away. He always knew how to make me feel better. We started packing and eventually we were done.

“I think that’s everything” I said

“You ready to go?” Corbyn asked.

“Yeah, lets go” we walked out of the room and Jonah was sitting on the couch with his head buried in his lap. He looked up as we were walking out. His face was red covered in tears, his eyes were puffy from crying and his hair was all messed up.

“Y/n p-please don’t leave me. I love you so much and I’m sorry I’m so fucking sorry. Just please, I promise I’ll try to make things up to you. I’ll do anything baby. Please” Jonah pleaded as he stood up. I looked at him and I started crying. I walked out of our apartment without saying anything. He broke my heart. I love him but how can I be in a relationship with him when I don’t trust him anymore? I feel defeated. We were supposed to be together forever, but he threw all of that away in one night. I was snapped out of my thoughts when I heard Corbyn speaking

“Y/n?”

“Yeah?” I asked

“I know this is a little weird to ask right now, but did you ever regret breaking up?” Corbyn asked. Corbyn and I dated for a year but mutually broke things off. He needed time to focus on Why Don’t We and I understood that. Plus, I was never good with long distance.

“I wouldn’t say I regret it, I knew we both needed a break. But I missed you. I missed our late night phone calls and our cute little dates.” I said

“Yeah, we had a fun time together. But you didn’t like long distance”

“Yeah”

“So, how did that work out with Jonah. Cause he was long distance too.” Corbyn asked.

“Well, it seems like the older I get, the easier it is. Plus it was a little easier with Jonah cause we lived together.” I said

“Yeah, that makes sense. He’s a fucking idiot. I still can’t believe he did that to you” Corbyn said. Suddenly the image of Jonah’s hickey popped in my head and made me burst into tears. Why did he do that to me? Why wasn’t I enough for Jonah. “Shit, y/n I didn’t mean to make you cry”

“It’s okay Corbyn. It’s not your fault” we drove to our favorite ice cream place and I ordered my favorite. Moose tracks. We enjoyed our ice cream, we laughed, we joked, and we had a great time. He really had a way of taking things off my mind.

“Hey, we better start heading back to my place. It looks like it’s about to storm”

“Okay, lets go” we drive back to Corbyn’s and he turns on Monsters Inc for me to cheer me up. We were watching the movie and he pulled me into him to cuddle. I gladly cuddled him and watched the movie peacefully. Suddenly I heard my phone buzz and I guess I was too busy watching the movie cause I had 10 missed calls and 30 unread texts. I open my phone and see that all of the missed calls were from Jonah and 25 texts were from him as well. The other 5 texts were from Daniel apologizing for Jonah and asking me to give him another chance. I ignored everything and turned my phone off. I don’t need to see that right now.

“Everything okay?” Corbyn asked

“Yeah, it’s just Jonah and Daniel trying to defend Jonah” I replied

“Don’t worry about Daniel. He probably feels responsible and he just wants to try and fix things”

“Yeah, I know. I just don’t want to deal with it right now.” I said

“Well, lets watch another movie then” Corbyn suggested

“Okay, lets watch the kissing booth” I said

“Okay hun” we turned on the kissing booth and I dozed off into a deep sleep. Falling asleep in my first loves arms. Corbyn made a shitty day so much better.

*your POV*

“Hey babe, can you come here real quick” I hear my boyfriend Jonah ask.

“Yeah, I’m coming” I say as I walk into the room where Jonah is. “What’s up?”

“Did you wanna wanna go get some pizza tonight? I’m really craving some” Jonah asked

“Sure, that sounds good”

“Awesome. There’s this new place down the road I wanna try”

“Okay, babe” I say

“Oh and y/n?”

“Yeah Jo?”

“I love you” Jonah says as he looks at me and smiles.

“I love you too” I say as I kiss him. The hours pass and it’s time for Jonah and I to get pizza. We drive down the road and arrive at this cute pizza shop.

“Hi, can we get a large cheese pizza” Jonah ordered. “And a sprite and a coke please”

We ate our pizza and it was one of the BEST cheese pizzas I’ve ever had.

“Omg this is so good!” I exclaimed

“It is! Oh and babe, I’m gonna be going out with the boys later. Is that okay with you?” Jonah asked

“Yeah, I’ll just hang out with Kayla or something.” Kayla is my best friend. She’s always there for me no matter what.

“Okay, let me drive you back to the apartment and then I’ll go meet up with them” Jonah said

“Okay babe” we finish up our pizza and Jo drives us home. Jonah stays in the car and I invite Kayla over. We watched Coco and fell asleep on the couch. But when I woke up the next morning Jonah wasn’t home.

“Where’s Jonah?” I ask

“Did he not come home?”

“No, I don’t think so”

“Try calling him, he probably crashed at one of the guys’ house last night” Kayla suggested.

“You’re right” I say as I dialed Jonah’s number. I got no answer. “Of course he didn’t answer.” I then dial Corbyn’s number.

“Hello?” Corbyn answered.

“Hey... is Jonah with you?” I asked.

“Um, no I haven’t seen Jonah for a couple of days. Why?” Corbyn asked

“Wait... he said he was going out with you guys last night.”

“Um, we’ll he wasn’t with me? He might have been with the other guys though.”

“Okay. I’ll try calling Danny. Thanks bean”

“No problem y/n” with that we hung up and I called Daniel.

“Hello?” Daniel answered.

“Hey, is Jo with you?” I asked

“Um... yeah...” Daniel said sounding weird.

“Can I talk to him?”

“Yeah hold on”

“Hello?” Jonah said

“Where are you” I said sounding worried.

“I um I’m at Daniel’s” he stuttered

“Why are you acting weird”

“I-I’m not.”

“Can you come home so we can talk” I asked

“Yeah babe, I’ll be right over”

*20 minutes later*

Jonah walks through the door and I can tell immediately that something is wrong.

“Hey babe” Jonah says

“What happened” I asked. My anxiety is eating me alive

“What do you mean”

“Jonah, I can tell you’re hiding something.” But the more I looked at Jonah the more nervous he got. Then I saw it. I saw a hickey on his neck that I didn’t give him. “What the fuck is that” I yell very angrily pointing at his neck.

“Y/n please let me explain”

“Explain what? What the fuck did you do last night!”

“Please don’t be mad. I didn’t mean to. Things escalated so quickly and-and I was drunk-“ Jonah stuttered.

“You fucking cheated on me?”

“I-I uh. Yes” Jonah said sounding defeated.

You wake up in Jonah’s arms, feeling completely relaxed. You look up to see the brown haired cutie sleeping peacefully. Admiring his beauty you smile.

“You know, it’s rude to watch people while they sleep” you hear Jonah say with both eyes closed.

“Shit. You scared me!” You laughed

“Good morning beautiful” Jonah smiled. You blushed immediately

“Good morning handsome” you smiled back.

“Handsome? I could get used to that” Jonah smiled as he placed a kiss on your forehead.

“What did you want to do today?” You asked

“I actually have an idea”

“What is it? And don’t you dare say it’s a surprise!” You cheered

“It’s a surprise” Jonah winked.

“Goddammit Jonah”

“Don’t worry, it’ll be great”

“It better be, or you owe me Starbucks” you joked.

“Deal” Jonah agreed. “But you better start getting ready”

“Ugh fine. Give me like 20 minutes” you sighed. All of the sudden you hear knocking on your bedroom door

“Y/n who the fuck are you talking to?” Halie asked

“Uhhhhh Jonah” you said shyly

“Open the door” Halie demanded. You opened your door and stood by Jonah.

“Hey, what’s up?” Jonah said to Halie

“What the hell? Last I knew, you guys were on bad terms. What happened?”

“Well, he came over to the apartment and apologized” you started

“Yeah. Then she grabbed my face and kissed me” Jonah butted in

“Really, she didn’t have to know that Jo” you laughed at Jonah

“So, are you guys together then?” Halie asked. You and Jonah both looked at each other.

“Eh, it’s kinda just up in the air right now. We’re not trying to rush into anything” you said

“Okay, cool. But you know I’m gonna make you guys go on a double date with me and Zach, right?”

“Can’t wait” Jonah smiled.

“Noowwww, if you’ll excuse me. I need to get ready. Bye!” You say as you push Halie and Jonah out the door. You grab a pair of black ripped skinny jeans and a maroon tank top. You did your hair and a little bit of makeup, then brushed your teeth. You grabbed your purse and met Jonah in the living room. “I’m ready when you are” you said. Jonah looked up at you and his eyes widened.

“Damn, you look amazing”

“Thank you” you smiled. You and Jonah head for the door and drive to Starbucks. You order your favorite drink and grab your wallet to pay, before you could give the barista your card Jonah lightly pushed you out of the way and paid for your drink.

“Really, Marais. I’m very capable of paying for my own drink” you said as you put your hands on your hips.

“I know, but I wanted to be nice” Jonah smiled

“Well, thank you” you smiled back. The barista hands both of you your drinks and you and Jonah start to head to his car. Before you know it Jonah pulls up to the beach.

“Jo, why are we at the beach? It’s a little cold to swim” you said

“We’re not going swimming. Come on, I wanna show you something”. You and Jonah walk hand in hand, you see beautiful white candles laid down in the sand in the shape of a heart. In middle of the heart were two beach chairs and a small table in between both chairs. On the table were two glasses of red wine.

“Omg Jonah! This is so beautiful” you say in awe.

“It’s all for you. You deserve the world y/n”

“Thank you Jo. You’re so amazing to me”

“Cause you deserve it baby” Jonah said. Just hearing the word “baby” made your heart melt. Jonah grabbed your hand and led you into the heart. “I wanted to ask you something y/n”

“What is it Jonah?” You ask

“I know this is soon. But I have never met anyone like you. Your smile can light up any room and your beauty leaves me breathless. You’re sassy, kind, smart, and a little hard to handle. But that’s what makes me so damn attracted to you. I would hate myself if I passed up this opportunity to ask... would you please be my girlfriend?” Jonah asked as a single tear ran down your face.

“I’d love to Jo” you say with the biggest smile on your face. Jonah picks you up and spins you around in a circle. Then kisses you passionately.

“I promise, I’m going to do everything in my power to make you the happiest girl in the world.”

“I already am Jonah” you smile as you kiss him again. “I’m never letting you go”

“Good, I don’t want you to” Jonah says. You guys sit down and drink the wine. For the first time in a long time you feel happy. Completely and truly happy. Who would have thought that Jonah Marais would be your forever. The one man that completed you. You’re no longer scared of falling in love, because loving Jonah was easy.

*the next day*

It’s the day of the concert. You and Halie have backstage passes even though you don’t want to see Jonah face to face right now. You guys spend all day getting ready and before you know it, it’s time to see the boys. You guys walk up to the venue and show the guard your passes and he walks you to where the boys are.

“Hey babe!” Zach cheers as he kisses Halie

“Hey I’m going to go find Eben and Daniel” you say to Halie so she knows where you are.

“Okay hun, have fun”.

You walk over to Daniel and Eben and greet them with a big hug

“Are you going to talk to him?” Daniel asks as he looks at Jonah

“I-I don’t know if I can. He probably hates me and I don’t want to make things worse” you stutter

“Look, I live with him and he’s been miserable. I know for a fact that he doesn’t hate you.” Eben says. You look over to Jonah and you see him reading a book with a cup of coffee in his hand.

“He likes you y/n. And I know you’re not ready for anything but I just want you to know that he would never hurt you. He cares about you way too much. He didn’t even care about Tate this much this fast.” Daniel says

“What are we talking about?” You hear a voice come from behind you. You look up and see Jonah.

“Uh-um nothing” you stutter

“We’ll leave you two alone” Daniel winks

“DANIEL” you yell

“What? Now you can’t even be alone with me?” Jonah asks. Obviously hurt

“No, it’s not that Jo-“ you start but get cut off by Jonah.

“Look. I get that I’m not good enough for you. You don’t have to lie to me”

“Jonah. You’re more than good enough. I just have shit that I’m trying to work through. I don’t want to hurt you in the process.” You explain

“Well, you already did” Jonah said as he walks away

“JONAH WAIT!” You yell out. But it was too late, he already left the room. At this point everyone was looking at you. You burst into tears and run out of the room.

“I’ll be right back babe” Halie says to Zach as she follows you.

“Y/N WAIT UP” you hear Halie yell. You stop in your tracks and turned to her.

“I fucked it all up Halie. I hurt Jonah because I was too fucking scared to get hurt. He hates me now and all I wanna do is go hug him and tell him I’m sorry” you cry.

“Listen to yourself y/n. You like him. I know it’s scary. But you need to open up to him. Jonah is the sweetest guy on earth. I know he would never hurt you. So, wipe your tears away. You’re a strong bitch and strong bitches don’t cry. After the show you can tell Jonah how you feel.” Halie said

“Thank you, Halie. I love you”

“I love you too. Now come on the show is about to start”

You and Halie walk towards your seats and wait for the boys to come on stage. Eben opens the show and Max follows. Soon enough the boys come on stage. Like always they started off with Trust Fund Baby. They sang a couple more songs. Jonah has made eye contact with you a few times but he would quickly look away.

“Thank you guys so much for coming out” Jonah started. “You guys mean the world to us. So we have a surprise for you. I wrote a song last night for someone in the crowd right now. We would love to perform it for you right now. I hope you guys like it, it’s called Falling”

You look at Halie with fear. Knowing the song was definitely about you.

You fumbled putting the keys in the ignition and drove back to your apartment that you shared with Halie. Once you got home you texted Halie to let her know that you were okay. You changed into a tank top and some sweat pants. Took your makeup off and threw your hair up in a bun. Jonah never left your mind. Thinking about him made you cry some more. Suddenly you heard a knock on the door and you wiped your tears away and opened the door.

“Hey” Jonah said as he stood there in the doorway.

“You’re quite literally the last person I want to see right now” you said bluntly

“Why? I wrote a song for you. I thought you would like it”

“Why the fuck would I like that song Jonah. Basically telling me that I don’t know how to love. And that you’re not good enough! I’ve told you before that you ARE good enough. But I don’t want to get HURT! My ex made me feel like I was on top of the world. He kinda reminds me of you. He always made me smile always made me laugh. He was my best friend. Then I found him in bed with another bitch. So excuse me for not wanting to get hurt again.” You yell.

“Y/n... I would never want to hurt you. I’m sorry for writing that song, but I wanted you to know that I’m really falling for you. I’m falling so hard that you’re the only person I think about. You’re the only person I want to be around. And I’m sorry if you don’t feel the same way but goddamnit y/n I’m not ready to give up on you. I just need a little time to prove to you that I'm on something different. I know you've been hurt before but you don't have to run from me

I'm on your side.” Jonah said as a single tear ran down his face. Without thinking you grabbed Jonah’s face and kissed him. You kissed him so hard and so passionately. He kissed you back with the same intensity.

“I love you Jo” you said

“Fuck, I love you too y/n”

“Did you maybe want to stay over?” You asked

“I’d love to” Jonah smiled. And with that you guys fell asleep in your bed. Being cuddled up on Jonah’s chest was the best feeling ever.

*Jonah’s POV*

Last night with y/n was amazing. I have never met anyone like her. She’s smart, funny, kind and she’s one of the most beautiful girls I have ever seen. Not gonna lie tho, when she pulled away from the kiss, it broke my heart. I know she’s been hurt before but I want to show her that I’m different, that I’ll treat her like a queen. I just hope she gives me a chance to show her that.

“Hey bro, how was the date last night?” Corbyn asked as he walked in the door

“Uh, it was great. We had a great time” I tried to smile

“You don’t seem to sure about that. Did something happen?”

“She uh, pulled away from my kiss” I said shyly.

“YOU TRIED TO KISS HER!?” Corbyn yelled. “Bro you’re going too fast for her, that’s probably why she pulled away”

“You think?” I asked

“Yeah Jo, I remember when Zach took Halie and their first date. He tried to do the same thing and Halie pulled away too. You just have to give it tome. Don’t rush into things. Cause if you do it’ll scare her away.” Corbyn said sincerely

“Thanks man, I appreciate it. I’m not giving up on her. She means too much to me”

“Good. Now give her a call sometime today and see if she wants to hangout again” Corbyn said

“Okay. Good idea” I agreed

*Your POV*

“Hey hun, I’m gonna get some Starbucks want any?” Halie asked as she came into the room waking me up.

“Uh yeah, an iced caramel macchiato please” I said.

“Okay I’ll be right back”

“Thank you!” I called out as Halie was already walking out the door. I decided to get out of bed and brush my hair and teeth. Right as I’m done brushing my teeth my phone starts ringing.

“Hello?” I say without looking at the caller ID

“Hey y/n”

“Jonah? What’s up” I asked

“I um, I had a great night last night and wanted to know if maybe you would want to go on another date with me” Jonah said shyly.

“I had a great time last night too Jo. But um... I-I don’t know if I’m really ready for something like this...” I trailed off.

“Oh” was all Jonah said

“I’m sorry Jonah, you’re a great guy and deserve the best”

“You are the best y/n” Jonah said obviously sounding hurt.

“Jo...” I started but couldn’t finish

“Was it because I tried to kiss you?” He asked

“What? No! I’m just not ready for a relationship.” I explained

“Why not” Jonah asked

“Cause I don’t want to get hurt again”

“Well, I would never hurt you y/n. That’s not the guy I am”

“I’m sorry Jonah...” I said as I hung up the phone. I sat there in silence just looking at my phone. I feel bad but I promised myself that I wouldn’t let myself get hurt again. If that means being single for the rest of my life, then so be it. Halie walked through the door and handed me my Starbucks.

“Thank you” I said, avoiding eye contact.

“What’s wrong?” Halie asked, sounding concerned.

“Jonah called”

“And...?!”

“He asked me on another date, and I told him no.” I said still not looking at Halie. I didn’t want to see her disappointment.

“Why y/n? I thought you had a good time with him” Halie said

“Cause I don’t want to get hurt again Halie! Every guy I let in hurts me. I can’t go through that again. I want to believe Jonah is a good guy, but my walls are too high.” I said as I started to cry

“Oh, y/n” Halie said as she wraps her arms around you and hugs you. “How about this? I’ll call Christina and Gabbie and we can all have a girls night with a bunch of snacks and we’ll watch movies and not think about boys” Halie said trying to cheer me up.

“That would be great, thanks halie” I said as I hugged her back tightly.

“No problem, I’ll go call them right now”

*Jonah’s POV*

“I’m sorry Jonah...” i hear y\n say as she hangs up. What’s wrong with me? Why doesn’t she want me? I shouldn’t have tried to kiss her. Fuck what am I gonna do. I don’t want to lose her. I need to go for a walk.

“Where are you going?” Jack asked

“Out” I said bluntly

“Okay, but where?” Daniel asked sounding concerned.

“To the studio” I said as I walked out of the door

“The studio?” Daniel asked turning to jack

“That’s where he goes when something happened and he needs to get away” jack said looking at Daniel

“I just hope he’s okay”

“Me too”

I walked to the studio while blasting music. She clouded my thoughts. Y/n is all I think about and I blew it. I blew my chance with her. Before I knew it, I was at the studio. I immediately walked over to the piano and started to play some chords. Music was my only escape. It was the only thing that would get my mind off of y/n. I started playing some chords then a lyric popped into my head

“I’m writing a song about a girl I know.”

“A girl huh? This can’t be good” Jon laughed

“Do-do you want to see what I have so far?” I asked

“I’d love to” Jon smiled. I watched as he read the lyrics I just wrote. Trying to read his face to see if he likes it or not. “This is really good Jonah”

“Really?” I asked

“Yeah, I really like this. So who’s this girl?”

“Oh uh it’s y/n. She’s been around lately cause her best friend is dating Zach. I took her on a date and I guess she doesn’t feel the same way about me.” I explained.

“Oh, yeah. I know who you’re talking about” Jon said

“Hey, um I know it’s not an official song or anything, but if I got the boys to practice it with me could we play it at tomorrow’s show?” I asked.

“If the boys are okay with it then yes.” Jon agreed.

“Thank you Jon” I smiled “I’ll talk to the boys tonight”

“And Jonah? If she is worth all of this. Show it. Show her that you’re not willing to give up that easily” Jon said

“I will. Thank you Jon” and with that I stood up and walked back to mine and Corbyn’s place. All the boys were already over (including Eben) so what perfect time to start practicing our new song. “Hey boys! We got a new song that we have to practice. Oh and we’re performing it tomorrow night”

“You have got to be kidding me!” Zach protested as he put his palm to his face.

“Oh come on, it’ll be killer”

“Lemme guess, it’s about y/n” Jack said

“How do you know about that?” I asked.

“Gabbie and Christina are with Halie and y/n having a girls night. Gabbie said something about how a certain someone asked y/n on another date and she rejected him” jack said stating me down.

“Well, you didn’t have to say it like that. But yeah it’s about y/n. It was the only healthy way of coping with what happened.” I frowned

“Jo, we’re here. We’re your family. We might give you a hard time but it’s what brothers do.” Said Daniel.

“Look dude, we know Tate fucked you up. And y/n is coming from the same place. You should give her time” Zach butted in

“Yeah, but she’s too scared to get hurt again that she won’t even give us a chance. But whatever can we just go over the song”

“Yes” everyone said in a defeated voice.

*Your POV*

A few hours pass since Halie called the girls. Before I knew it, there was a knock at the door. I opened it to see Gabbie and Christina.

“Heyyy girl!” Christina cheered as she hugged me

“Omg y/n I missed you so much!” Gabbie said as she came in for the hug too.

“I missed you guys too. Thank you for coming” I said as I hugged them back.

“So what movie are we gonna watch?” Halie asked as she walked into the room

“The notebook” Christina and Gabbie cheered at the same time

“Okay, I’ll go get it started. The snacks are already on the table ladies” said Halie as she went to start the movie. We all walked towards the movie room with loads of snacks in our arms. We grabbed pillows and blankets and snuggled up with each other on the couch.

“Who needs guys when you have the best friends in the world” I said as the movie started. And with that the night was drama free. No boys. No relationships. Just quality time with my favorite people.
