I MISSED IT BUT WE PASSED 4K! HOLY SHIT!
That means it’s giveaway time! Unfortunately I don’t have time to do any custom works BUT I can do a Patreon giveaway again.
So, if you’d like to win a month’s worth of Patreon content (starting in December), reblog this post and I’ll choose four winners!
It’s absolutely crazy that this IF has grown so fast and I’m so grateful for each and every one of you. Thank you all for the art you make, for the conversation, and for just reading my stories 🖤

🖤 I DID NOT NOTICE WE REACHED 3.5K THAT’S SO WILD 🖤
Okay, so…maybe a giveaway for early access?
Reblog this if you want to enter and I’ll pick two winners to receive August’s planned Patreon updates! Yes, including the most recent update.
This will close in 24 hours (2 PM EST 8/13/23) and then I’ll put all the reblogs in a little randomized generator thing to pull two.
I can’t thank you guys enough and I know it’s kinda a small reward, but I wanted to do something.

Review: Our Life: Beginnings & Always By GB Patch Game
Tumblr media
So first up on the reviews is one of my personal favorites, Our Life: Beginnings & Always by GB Patch Games. This game made me smile so much during my first playthrough, and at the grand ole price of free, I could hardly believe it. Describe as a feel-good simulator; it lived up to its description right away. Sometimes the game feels more like a coming-of-age tale than a romance, but that’s part of the charm. Ever want to live out the fall in love with your childhood friend and neighbor troupe? Well, this game is for you!
In this game, you get to experience four stages of life, childhood, adolescence, young adulthood, and fully grown with the lonely green-haired boy who moves across the street. Your character, fully customizable, meaning name, appearance, pronouns, personality, and even body type as you progress through the game, starts the game as an 8-year-old raised in a Californa beach town with very few kids your age to play with besides your sister and her friend.
While making your way home one evening, your character is approached by a stranger. The man is looking for a kid who can be his child’s friend, and he’s even offering to pay for it. A grand spanking 20 dollar bill, that’s like $100 in kid money. The man is Mr. Holden, your new neighbor, as well as the father of the odd and uniquely named boy, Cove. Whether you want to play along or not, Cove is sticking around. He's present in your life for far longer than anyone ever would've guessed. Cove is the only love interest in the base game, with two other love interests coming as DLC later throughout the year. Cove is a soft boy who grows and changes based on the choices you make. Or you can make him, mostly, however you want in the Cove customization screen before 2 thru 4 steps. The choice is yours! Either way, you will find yourself falling our ocean-loving leading man.
This game is choice-heavy, letting you make your character your own, and you don’t have to worry about getting a ‘bad’ ending because there isn’t one. I, personally, loved not having to worry about a bad ending, allowing me to pick the options that I think my character would do or chose. And better yet, Cove remembers your choices like your favorite drink or a joke that made you laugh. All the characters are beautifully written and drawn. They feel like real people who grow alongside your MC and add extra meaning to the story. The game has wonderful LGBTQ+ representation, even allowing your MC to transition or switch pronouns during the game.
Each of the four stages of life, which the game calls steps, are divided into moments for you to play. You can pick and choose which moments you want to play, even if you want to skip all of them and go straight to the next step. These moments are usually centered around little events like catching fireflies or a sleepover or small adventures. In some of these moments, you have the chance to tell Cove how you feel or wait for him to tell you how he feels about you! It’s all about how you want to play the game.
All in all, if you do want a feel-good game with a cast of characters that feel real and with high replay value, pick this up on steam. What do you have to lose? It’s free! And once you love it and decided you need more Cove Holden in your life, pick up the DLCs, which give you even more moments to fall in love with him. I’ve put more than 50 hours into this game and plan on doing more.

Game reviews maybe?
Hi! I’m Britt. I’m an avid gamer of all sorts of games, visual novels, RPGs, and even fps on occasion. If the story is good, I’m in. I’d thought I’d share my thoughts on some games I’ve played over the years and give my honest take on them. Some of you might not care, but I’m just doing this for fun, so feel free to go on this journey with me. Send me recommendations, or don’t. That’s fine too. I plan on covering many different games, from visual novels to mobile otome games to RPGs wherever the wind will take us.

Cheep and easy ways to find a basis for your plot.
When you have characters:
What does your character aspire to do or become? Making that aspiration really hard for them to reach.
What does your character love? Take it away from them and make them earn it back.
What does your character hate? Bind them too it and make them work to get rid of it.
When you have a world:
What is the most chaotic thing that can happen to this world’s politics? Find the character this chaos would effect the most and see what they do about it.
What is the most dangerous thing that can happen within this magic system? Figure out who would come to stop or reverse it and see what they do.
Who is the most damaging person in this world and what are they doing? Figure out who of those they hurt might rise up and defeat them.
When you have only spite:
What story do you absolutely hate the execution of? Take the very basic concept of its plot and build it into the story you wish it produced.
What plot structure do you enjoy but wish writers would be more original with? Take it and then throw a dozen spins on it.
** Remember to mix and match for more elaborate plot structures. Carry on this format with your own tricks to digging up basic plot structures!
