Damn. All her mistwalkers and wraiths were dead. Heroes these days, you can’t turn around for like five minutes without some sword guy killing your zombies—friggin’ unreal. She’s irritated. Or, well, she doesn’t care, obviously, but Shadow’s acting irritated for her, arms crossed, swinging its gaze around in twitchy circles.
Not that the stranger’s helped the town much, as the place is still empty. Mostly evacuated, probably. The houses stand vacant, and the tavern door swings slightly in a breeze that doesn’t touch the black mist rolling past her.
❝ hey. rude ass. ❞ She calls out through the empty streets. It’s quiet enough that the sound echoes a fair distance. ❝ you wanna come out and explain to my face where my ghosts went? seriously... ❞

isolde.
curious little creature , she who lingered in castle despite . . never truly seeming happy with such arrangements. yet isolde minds little , their guest welcome to remain as long as she so pleased ⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯ land of camavor a ghost town otherwise. besides , she was grateful for the yordle ; having kept beloved husband company ‘pon his wake.
❝ ah– ❞ albeit it would seem sentiment not be shared , surprised by sullen words. ❝ . . perhaps you think me uninteresting because you do not know me , ❞ brow raised come remark , brims displaying a smile. amused was she , hardly offended. ❝ and i cannot say being a ghost was much fun , but this wraith form is quite nice ❞
almost . . normal , a sensation long since missed. ❝ what of you ? do you like ghosts ? ❞
UUUGH. The lady doesn’t even have the decency to be upset or irritated when Vex is trying to be rude to her. Which sucks, because when people respond to her by being nice, it just makes her look like an asshole. She hates this about her parents, too. Family. Ugh. She scowls, and Shadow raises a brow.
Don’t judge me, stupid. She thinks to it, and can nearly hear its exasperated response as it rolls its eyes at her. She responds by shutting herself out of the link between them so that it can’t snoop around her thoughts, which is something she only does when she’s particularly irritated.
Vex crosses her arms, sleeves hanging down past her sides. ❝ um, yeah. ❞ She replies. Yeah, ghosts are cool, obviously. Well, most of them. Jury is still out on Isolde, she thinks. It’s not really her, personally, persay, that Vex dislikes, but... ❝ i’m the one who plays gravedigger with the specters in the garden, ‘cause nobody else will and they get all whiny when they’re being ignored. ❞
She is seated atop Shadow, arms crossed, legs kicking, very much looking like an upset kid—she knows that she looks childish, too, but she can’t help it. She’s felt so extraneous lately. Like a background character at the end of a story. It’s a feeling she hates, being overlooked—at least here, where she should be feared and respected, if anything.
❝ i’m thinkin’ you guys should make me court mage, by the way. ❞ She adds, trying to look as haughty and important as possible. ❝ ‘cause i’m better at magic than any of you, and the ghosts like me. besides, who else would handle that stuff? hecarim? feh. ❞
