Little Mr 1 scored this awesome pressie recently and I literally thought 'I want that' when he opened it. It's perfect! Because of course there's a difference between Rhino and Hippo and Elephant greys. It just took Pantone to write it down for me to see it. This rainy Friday morning has us inside in our PJs and #makingart while the baby sleeps. Perfect calming activity after a busy week. Far too little time spent creating recently - too much consumption has had me all upside down. Thanks to those peeps who've reminded me to keep on making 🌟🌟🌟 P.S. This is clearly an update on the whole #sheshed in a tent idea. The art tent didn't last more than a week! Disaster for productivity. Terrible idea to be claustrophobic when you need to be creative. My new advice - crack it if you need to and stake your claim to your own space!! Especially true for mums who are quick to put themselves last. Do something kind for yourself this weekend. I was at the Pop up store of sculptor @rogerapte a few months ago, and we were talking about the shapes that you unconsciously revert to when you allow your thoughts to switch off. He mentioned an artist whose shapes were born from the pebbles in the creek at the back of her property when she was growing up. She has always kept the feel and weight of them with her. I was doodling tonight and realised that these are my shapes. Drawn from memories of the gum leaves that lined my childhood? Or something else? Either way they are my go to shape.
