artist Serge Attukwei Clottey is building a real-life yellow brick road in Ghana. made from bits of yellow jerrycan (the water vessels used by charity:water and other aide organizations), Attukwei Clottey is covering his family’s neighborhood in gold as a community gift that also calls out its poverty and lack of property rights 🔶💛🔶

LGBTQ+ perspective is underrepresented across history - including art history. the Museum of Transgender History & Art (MOTHA) is a pop-up museum offering new stories and perspective on LGBTQ contributions to art, history, and culture.

MOTHA has popped up at the New Museum in NYC now til February 3, 2019, with its next stop yet to be written.

we might be close to curing cancer. last year, University of Missouri chemistry professor George P. Smith won the Nobel Prize for a new way to engineer proteins on antibodies called “phage display.” now a team of Israeli scientists are using a similar method to eliminate cancer cells, claiming to have the first true cure. the treatment is entering clinical trials and could save millions of lives if it’s successful. Smith’s invention is also being explored to treat malaria and other major diseases around the world 👨🏻‍🔬👩🏽‍🔬
