I'm a Physics student with a Philosopher's mind. My favorite fields in Physics are Quantum and Astro (though I can see myself choosing a different field for my career, such as bio or computational physics) and I generally romanticize the hell out of this subject. Talking about "romanticizing": I'm also into the humanities subjects. Speculative Fiction is my favorite literary genre and I yearn for superpowers. The Ballerina Assassin is the best aesthetic. Occasional fandom stuff and pretty people. Lot's of Art.

why do you hate johny depp? not ignorant just curious and willing to learn lol
OH, let’s talk about it, let’s really talk about it. because the cult of johnny depp is the ultimate masterclass in delusion and wilful ignorance. the man isn’t some tortured genius brooding in a chateau marmont haze. he’s a documented predator with a rap sheet of abuse that makes the grand canyon look shallow.
foreword; if you're a johnny depp fan......dni. also my worst punishment from nature is that i was born on the same day as this spaztic na*i rapist ugly a$s idiot
first, the fact that depp lost his 2020 libel case against the sun, you know, that bastion of tabloid trash journalism, is as clear a legal precedent as you can get. a UK court, mind you, which is notoriously plaintiff-friendly in libel cases, found there was "substantial truth" to calling him a "wife beater." ten out of twelve incidents of domestic violence against amber heard (a woman 23 years younger than him !!) were accepted as proven.
this isn’t a smear campaign; it’s a judiciary conclusion backed by evidence. weirdly enough no one ever talks about this. wonder why...hm
let’s wade further into the swamp of his legacy: his well-documented and for some reason "adored" but deeply predatory relationship with Winona Ryder, who was 17 when they started dating, an age difference that can’t be chalked up to anything but......illegality. and while Winona has, for reasons of her own, occasionally defended his behaviour publicly, there are still accounts (like from her book or magazine interviews) of his aggression from that time. of temper tantrums, jealousy, and violence thinly veiled by his “passion.”
then Kate Moss. let’s not romanticise the fact that their relationship was essentially a rockstar cliche of chaos and destruction. looting a hotel room isn’t “wild,” it’s dangerous. it’s volatile. it’s a harbinger of abuse. and the reason why he was arrested.
and Amber Heard. i can't fucking believe how all these stupid people really believed this. let’s be real for a second. do we honestly think a young actress, clawing her way through the unforgiving echelons of hollywood, would have the power to manipulate a multi-millionaire, cult-loved, A-list white man with his own disney franchise?
this isn’t a Netflix revenge plot; it’s the lived experience of a woman who was trapped with a man who wielded his power and influence like a cudgel. depp’s addictions alcohol, drugs don’t excuse his behaviour; they amplify the inherent violence he was already capable of.
and the icing on this mouldy, misogynistic cake???? his besties. Roman Polanski........literal child rapist. Marilyn Manson........also a documented abuser. birds of a feather. when your close-knit circle reads like a lineup for a trial at the hague, maybe it’s time to rethink who we’re defending.
also, let’s talk about Lily-Rose Depp, his daughter, who has stayed notably silent throughout his circus of a redemption arc. silence, in this case, screams volumes. if your own children refuse to publicly support you, there’s something deeply wrong in your house.
ALSO. COMING BACK TO AMBER HEARD. first, the #MeToo backlash. by the time Depp and Heard’s case hit its peak, a significant chunk of society.........read: men and their legions of complicit enablers, were frothing at the mouth for a scapegoat. they were over it, exhausted by the audacity of women daring to speak about their trauma. they wanted proof, a single case they could dangle like a trophy in the face of survivors everywhere: “eee? women lie.” enter Amber Heard, whose mere existence gave them a narrative to weaponise against the entire movement.
the speed with which they latched onto this case was nothing short of olympic-level sprinting. a Hollywood starlet accusing a beloved, nostalgia-drenched figure like depp, who was currently being fired from pirates of the Caribbean because of...checks notes... being difficult to work with and constantly being drunk on set? it was a perfect storm for the worst parts of society to bubble up. Tte anti-feminist crowd didn’t care about facts; they cared about reclaiming power. they didn’t care that this case wasn’t a referendum on #MeToo but a complex, individual situation. they only cared that it gave them a chance to scream, “gotcha!” at every survivor who’s ever dared to come forward.
AND then we get to the dog-stepped-on-a-bee debacle. let me restate this for the cheap seats in the back: that line came from amber heard’s RAPE testimony. you know? because she was reportedly r*ped with a BOTTLE??? she was describing the aftermath of a violent, harrowing incident. an attack that left her reeling physically, emotionally, spiritually. and the internet turned it into a tiktok sound. they mocked her, ridiculed her, gleefully ripped apart her pain for clout and laughs. all because a woman showing emotion in court wasn’t deemed palatable enough.
do we even have words for this kind of misogyny? this almost kafkaesque reversal where a victim’s vulnerability is turned into entertainment? it’s more than disgusting; it’s a chilling reminder of how women’s pain is treated as public property. amber heard wasn’t just disbelieved. she was dehumanised. stripped of dignity. turned into a punchline because her trauma wasn’t poetic or stoic enough to satisfy the masses. oh! look at her ! she isn't the perfect victim, and for our little midget brains, that means that this washed up actor is the victim!!!!!
and what’s even worse?????? no one stopped to think about the context. it wasn’t just a random statement. it was her describing the chaos of her life, her struggle to process brutal, senseless violence. but that nuance was flattened under the steamroller of memes and misinformation. this case wasn’t about johnny depp versus amber heard; it was about society versus women who speak out. depp became the vessel for every man who ever thought “she’s making it up,” and heard became the effigy they burned to feel justified in their hatred. so, yeah, i’m feral about this. we should all be feral about this. there’s NO excuse for turning someone’s rape testimony into a joke. NONE.
so, in conclusion, johnny depp isn’t Captain Jack Sparrow, or Edward Scissorhands, or whatever eyeliner-slathered, tim-burton-mangled-piece-of-shit fantasy people have latched onto. he’s a powerful, wealthy man who has used his fame to obscure the very real and very horrifying pattern of abuse he has enacted on the women in his life

Cultural Dark Academia
After my last post about the lack of representation in academia, I felt it neccessary to provide some examples of what I’m talking about. Obviously there are more countries in the world than I can list and provide books for, so for a quick list this is what I got. !! Keep researching !! If you have any more books by POC please reply them !! If a country isn’t listed, that doesn’t mean it’s not important, this is just what I could get together real quick. If I made any mistakes, please let me know, we’re all learning. We need to help each other end eurocentrism in academia, so value representation and educate yourselves 💓💓💓

In case dark matter didn't seem mysterious enough, a new study proposes that it could have arisen before the Big Bang. Conventional thinking goes that the Big Bang was the beginning of everything – matter, dark matter, space, energy, all of it. After the event itself, the Universe went through a period of cosmic inflation, which saw its size swell by a factor of 10 septillion within an unfathomable fraction of a second.

In an exclusive statement shared with NBC News, Heard, who now lives in Spain, said: “Social media is the absolute personification of the classic saying ‘A lie travels halfway around the world before truth can get its boots on.’ I saw this firsthand and up close. It’s as horrifying as it is destructive.”
