Imma be honest, I’m not typically much of a taboo ship person BUT I really respect and enjoy what you’ve done with Hook Line Sinker(especially as someone who wishes they were the younger sister with a cool older sister). That being actually treating a taboo relationship as that and not just some Colleen Hoover-ass “oh no step bro what will we do” type stuff-

Making them struggle with these confusing feeling, how it affects them hanging out with others and in public, how it affects them being around other family and so on- It makes for a VERY engaging drama filled read and I can’t wait to see more!

hey, just I wanted to say that I've been obsessed with hook, line, sinker for the better part of the week and I am in awe over how wonderfully the characters are written and all the drama is structured. Especially coming from Arcane s2 where Vi and Jinx's relationship felt completely sidelined, the way they are portrayed and developed here truly feel like a masterclass. I just finished reading Hook, Line, Sinker, and omg I’m completely obsessed!! I’m so bad at articulating myself, but I want you to know I’m so in love with this fic, the way you’ve portrayed Vi and Jinx as characters, and their relationship with each other. I love both the intense and soft moments between them, and I can’t wait for the next chapter! Personally, as much as I had a blast watching season 2, I was disappointed with the way Vi and Jinx’s relationship was presented as opposed to season 1, so it makes me so happy to read fics and once again see that intense bond between the two of them however it ends up being portrayed. I’m really pleased that you’ve gotten so many lovely comments as you deserve them all!

Hello, how are you? I come from the FF in ao3 of Vi and Jinx. The truth is that I like it a lot, especially how you portray Vi, she is a character that I like a lot and with sympathy a lot and how she was treated in S2 it was very painful. At least she deserved an apology from Cait and not to lose his sister. Now I really wanted to ask you how it was for you to write this fic, I see a lot of hatred of the fandom for the relationship of the two of them and with the issue of incest, I myself never read something like that and I fell for a mistake in your fic that is beautiful, how was it for you to write about the two of them and the thing of incest? I really hope you can continue with the fic because it's great.

Hi, thank you for the message! I'm glad you enjoyed the fic, even if it wasn't your usual thing. :)

How was writing the fic for me? If you mean in terms of fandom reaction: lovely! We've received so many sweet comments, and basically zero negative ones. Fanfiction is safer than fanart, in a way, because you have to go to the effort of seeking it out, and then actually sitting down and reading it. The average hater wouldn't bother.

I've also been active on Twitter in recent months, where there's a pleasantly-sized ViJinx community, but also definitely much more vitriol and hate from so-called antis. At the moment, it doesn't bother me too much. I block ViJinx haters on sight, so I don't see much of them anymore.

If you mean in terms of how I, on an emotional level, feel about writing incest... I feel great! Lmao. It's never been a big deal for me, fiction is fiction and I'm here to have fun. Imbalanced, codependent and toxic dynamics have always been my thing, so me shipping ViJinx was only to be expected. I don't feel guilty about it or anything, because I know it's not real! And I think people making a big stink over it are really rather silly.

of course the show that is fundamentally centered around two sisters and their tragedies becomes centered around men and said sisters are sidelined and their arcs are pushed to the sidelines and all the phenomenal care that went into their characters went down the drain. ​one’s arc is literally “the traumatized / mentally unwell character’s happy ending is committing suicide because they are simply too broken to heal and be happy” trope, and her mental instability is forgotten. the other is reduced to a mere plot device, has no agency of her own, and her trauma and anger is treated like a complete and utter joke for the sake of a shitty ship, and because the writers literally, point blank, were bored with her. it’s so sad because the tragedy of these sisters is so utterly devastating, so encompassing and so intricately woven into the narrative. but make it about two men i suppose?

hi! I came here from the "Hook, Line, Sinker" fic and I wanted to say I love how you portray them! Jinx especially, she's my favorite Arcane character so there's a bias there, but god I love how competent and smart she is, but also self-conscious and attention-seeking? You encapsulate Jinx's personality so well. Since season 1 came out I imagined Jinx as almost infatuated with her sister, so I love her obsession with Vi in the fic, and Vi's love and obsession with her too. It's lovely and after Arcane S2, I cannot wait to see more of this fic, if you are planning to continue? I hope you do. But I'm sending you much love either way.

And on a different note, is Jinx's hair strawberry blonde in the fanart you've shared?? I love that for her, and makes sense she'd have 'pale' eyelashes then, which I noticed on their first-time scene.

I actually deliberately avoid mentioning hair color in the fic, because I feel ridiculous incorporating goofy anime hues into a more realistic setting. But when I draw them in the AU, I like to depict Jinx's hair as naturally straw-brown and Vi's as more auburn or copper. :) Thanks for the message!
