Just watched the Next to Normal proshot and-

The final chorus in "I Am The One (Reprise)" begins with the lyrics being sung by both Dan and Gabe in unison:

"I am the one who held you

I am the one who cried

I am the one who watched while you died"

Dan held Gabe when he was a baby. Of course. But Gabe held onto Dan, too. Dan watched him die.

So now all I can think of is 8-month-old baby Gabe clutching his dad's shirt with his tiny fist for dear life, and Dan could do nothing but watch. Both of them were crying.

While I wished we got more behind the scenes stuff for the UK/West End run, I will forever be grateful that we got that little snippet of Eleanor giggling at Jamie tripping on a step as they walked off stage before the curtain call.

It's a Benjamin Button kind of night and I have the cast recording version and the off west end slime version of Time playing back to back on loop. Flowers to both Molly Osborne and Clare Foster...I am a sobbing mess 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Found myself in a discussion with some friends about fancasting your favorite musical theatre people and I apparently inadvertently started casting the next to normal uk cast in Into The Woods. Eleanor as Cinderella...Jack as well, Jack...Jamie and Caissie as The Baker and The Baker's Wife...Trevor as The Narrator. I only realized when someone asked me who I'd cast Jack O as...and I was like wait 👀

...and then of course, I felt awful because I didn't know who I'd cast him as in this hypothetical ITW production because there's really only room for one tenor in the show.
