brown hues peel off the lonely road ahead, && flicker towards his brother in arms; his intrigue peaked, noted by the quirk of his right eyebrow. his gaze shifts back to the road, momentarily– right hand fixed on the steering wheel, the left to his lips ( the joint they shared, perched between his index && thumb ). his attention span had as much depth as a puddle, && those earthy optics, by force of his own stupid nature, ripped away && settled back on his comical companion. ❝ let’s hear it, pagliacci! ❞ pinkish lips curved around the paper poked in his mouth; an inhale, then the recline of the drug by his less dominant hand. those eyes of his– those stupid, sweetly charming eyes of his lose their purpose, fixated on his primary distraction; && an uproar of instant laughter rumbles his belly, his frame– clashing with the ever-growing threat of being absent minded at the wheel. his dimples poke at flushed cheeks, the lines around his lips curve inward, && hearty hysterics ensue.

❝ HAHAAAH…! I’ll do ya one better, chief– ❞ a wheeze escapes him, followed by an umprompted cough. headlights ahead inch forward, an ever looming presence in their wake. ash pays no mind ( as if he ever does ). ❝ alright, alright … why did– why did the semen cross the road? ❞ HONK, HONK. HONK, HONK, HONK. the trucker ahead lays it down on the horn– ash jerks his head, as if it spins around on an axis, immediately wrestling the wheel to the right, which sends the Delta into a frenzy of donuts. his foot SLAMS on the brakes. their final destination was merely inches away from the ditch bent into the side of the road– dumb luck. as if it couldn’t get any worse, our hero of this story draws in a ragged breath, only to slowly say: ❝ … because you wore the wrong socks today. AHAHAHA! ❞
