Gay (MLM/NBLM) Flag
I promised Jace I’d make a flag representing *specifically* gay men (an alternative to the green/blue/white flag that’s explicitly inclusive of nonbinary people/NBLM), so here are the finalized designs I came up with (I like them bright, but people have complained about eyestrain in the past, so I made sure to include muted versions too). I hope you like them! 🏳️‍🌈
Stripes
Solidarity for and the strong desire to protect one’s LGBTQ+ siblings (Orange) 🧡
The joy of loving men in any way, shape, and/or form; platonically, romantically, sexually, etc. (Yellow) 💛
Looking towards the future of this community with a heart full of hope and good intentions; welcoming trans men, m-spec gays, and nonbinary people with open arms (White/Light Yellow) 🤍
Self-love and acceptance, regardless of whether or not one’s questioning journey is complete (Green) 💚
Chivalry; honorable conduct and displays of compassion towards others for the sake of being kind, even if one isn’t rewarded for it (Blue) 💙
Pride in the face of intolerance; being loudly and unapologetically oneself (Purple) 💜
I’d appreciate credit on posts (like icon edits and/or moodboards), but you don’t have to credit me if you’d like to use any of these designs as your header/icon.
Feel free to use them for pretty much anything! 🌈

there you have it, ‘enby’ was coined as an alternative to using ‘nb’ to mean nonbinary because people knew shortening nonbinary to ‘nb’ was the same as stealing black people’s terminology (aka ‘nonblack’, what ‘nb’ was first coined to mean and will only ever mean.)
‘nb’ means nonblack. ‘enby’ means nonbinary. stop putting ‘nb’ in your urls when you really mean ‘nonbinary’.
here are some alternatives to ‘nb’ use instead of just being an anti-black racist:
enby
enbe
enbee
enbie
nonb
nonby
nonbee
nonbie
these are the only acceptable alternatives to nblm, nblw, nblx, and nblnb:
nlm
nlw
nlx
nln
use ‘nb’ to refer to nonbinary people, or call ‘enby’ dumb and infantilizing one more time, and I will devour your socks.

y’all… this project needs our help.
the creators are a curvy white woman and a curvy black woman who want to create a line of plus size dolls in order to promote body positivity and acceptance among young girls.
in case you didn’t know, according to this study done in 2015, at least 80% of 8 to 10 year old girls in the united states are either on a diet, or they have their daily food intake restricted. the reason that’s still relevant, despite the substantial gap of 4 years between the publishing of the study and this kickstarter, is that in the 1970s, the encouraged dieting age for girls was 14, thus showing a clear downwards trend in the age young girls are made and encouraged to diet.
this is extremely harmful for their self esteem, as well as their growing and changing bodies, and can lead to eating disorders such as anorexia and bulimia in addition to malnourishment and serious health concerns (e.g. vitamin deficiencies), and unfortunately, the extreme weight loss mentality cultivated by parents and/or guardians can last long into adulthood.
now that you know why we need representation for fat women, it’s time to talk about why this specific small business deserves support. the answer is simple enough: they are respectful to the fat characters they’ve created, and allow all of them to posess a sense of dignity.
clearly three dimensional characters, each of the dolls has their own personality and style:
aliyah (1st) - the sweet owner of an animal sanctuary and a veterinarian for exotic animals
quinn (2nd) - a strong vintage car mechanic
keiko (3rd) - became an incredibly smart animal robitics engineer because she’s allergic to animal fur
alexandra (4th) - extremely tough, no-nonsense civil rights law student and activist
if the project reaches its funding goal, these dolls could show up on the shelves of your local target and walmart.
sounds amazing, right? well, don’t get your hopes up too soon, because the project has met less than 0.08% of its goal with less than a month to completion.
Tumblr media
you read that right–’all or nothing’ means that if they don’t make at least $230,655 (USD) before July 7, 2019, the kickstarter will be abandoned.
personally, I’m hoping the creators plan to launch another kickstarter if this one fails, but hopefully it won’t come to that. maybe, if we spread this around enough, posting updates on the progress it makes, we might just be able to help them.
I’m not demanding you donate $200 because “you can’t call yourself a good feminist without including fat people in your activism,” I’m asking you to reblog this for your friends, followers, and family members who know what it’s like to be ashamed of their size.
barbie and her multitude of professions did wonders for encouraging girls to pursue careers in STEM fields, imagine what this could do for girls.
so tag your friends, tag your mutuals, tag anyone you can think of to help support and signal boost this beautiful idea! I’ll start:
@fatphobiabusters @bigfatscience @vixianna @heavyweightheart @fandomshatefatpeople @feminismandmedia @fandomsandfeminism @bodypositivesuggestions @ok2befat @fatsuggestion @sheisrecovering @goodpositivitylgbt @geekandmisandry

why I left @bisappho
short version: I realized I’m a lesbian and in addition to that, the blog wasn’t a good fit for me.
long version: buckle up, because I have a lot of things to say and I’ve stayed quiet about this for almost two years now.
when I first joined the blog, it had a little less than 9,000 followers. I became a mod through @butchthalia, a friend I met and got to know fairly well online. she told me it would be the three of us–her, me, and one other mod. she also said I would have to go through a trial period to see if the chemistry between us worked well. (hint: it didn’t.)
since I don’t know if the other mod is comfortable with me sharing their main blog, I’m going to refer to the other mods as mod Luna (@butchthalia) and mod Celestia (the other mod).
things were okay for the first couple days. I reblogged a post here, queued a post there, reblogged already answered asks with extra advice. but then I got promoted to an admin, and the situation rapidly got worse. I started to notice several things that were off:
when I reblogged a post, it would show up on the blog for five minutes to half an hour. but the next time I refreshed the notes page, it was gone.
all the posts I queued would mysteriously disappear from the ‘queue’ tab before they could be posted.
any original post I made either a) got no notes (I later realized this was because they had been made private) or b) were deleted by the next day.
and finally:
whenever I answered an ask, it would almost immediately be deleted from the blog. also, the askbox was never open, and when I tried to open it, I would refresh the page eagerly looking for new asks, only to find it closed again.
now, at first I thought these were just glitches. I checked my computer for viruses, new browser updates, and re-downloaded the app on my phone just for good measure. but about a week into modding the blog, I realized the technology wasn’t at fault–someone was actively sabotaging my attempts to act as a mod for the blog.
for a while, I didn’t trust Luna or Celestia, and acted normally, though I did check their main blogs every so often to see if either one of them was gullible enough to post something dissing me or gloating about their sabotage of my efforts. that didn’t happen, of course. in fact, it never really clicked until the day I was asked to leave the blog.
Luna told me that Celestia had filed a complaint with her, saying I didn’t know or understand anything about how to run such an important active blog, as evidenced by my inability to successfully reblog and queue posts, as well as answer asks quickly and efficiently (much less at all). Luna had agreed with her, so what else could I do? I left the blog, tail between my legs, and tried not to be bitter about it. I tried so hard not to be bitter, because I thought everything was over.
I couldn’t have been more wrong.
five days after leaving bisappho, I got a little nostalgic and decided to reminisce on the good times I’d had with my fellow mods. but after scrolling for a solid ten minutes, I couldn’t find a single post I had reblogged, and my mod introduction as well as notice of departure were both gone. it was like I had never existed.
I never found out why Celestia hated me so much. to this day, I still don’t know why she went to so much effort to get rid of me. maybe she wanted the blog for herself. maybe she really just didn’t feel safe around me. I don’t know, because she had me blocked by the time I was kicked out.
I can’t show you any proof that this happened. hell, sometimes I wonder if that’s really what happened myself. but after talking to @disasterbisexual, who was a mod on there for about two weeks or so, I realized the exact same thing had been happening to every single mod that wasn’t Luna or Celestia. the only difference between the original mods is that Celestia was the one who complained, and refused to interact with us directly.
you don’t have to stop following bisappho. you don’t have to send anons demanding her to tell the truth, or drawing attention to this matter. but I think people need to know that Celestia is not a good person, and if you make yourself vulnerable to her by asking for advice, you need to know what you’re getting yourself into.

Sun & Moon Lesbian Merch
I wanted to make merchandise for the sun and moon lesbian flags a friend asked me to create for AGES, and now I finally have that opportunity! (And yes, you may use the square sun/moon edits I made for this post and these shirts as icons.) There should be 19 items for each flag!
A lot of people have claimed credit for my flags, and I don’t doubt that there’s other merch out there with my designs on it. I know some people are even boycotting me and crediting other people for creating the flags because of nasty rumors that I’m friends with TERFs, that I’m racist because the original lesbian flag was created by a racist, or even that I’m trying to shoehorn myself into the lesbian community (which I’m not at all trying to do.)
That being said, I don’t have very much money of my own, and I am trying to get enough so that I’m no longer completely dependent on my homophobic and transphobic parents (I’m a neurodivergent genderqueer/nonbinary sapphic), so please consider buying some of this merch from me if you are able! If you can’t, a reblog or two would be greatly appreciated <3

venom: what it’s doing wrong, and why it matters
while I really love this movie, and I like that eddie isn’t constantly butting heads with his ex fiance’s new boyfriend, I feel like there were some substantial story issues.
not only did they completely leave out the spiderman arc that was venom’s origin story–which I’m not complaining about tbh, having eddie and venom meet this way feels much more organic and true to their characters than shared grudges against a guy in spandex who flies around the city all day–I know they’re not going to be true to the comic’s canon dynamic between eddie and venom, despite the most recent references coming from 2016 and this year’s issue of the venom comics.
marvel has a problem with not only queer and lgbt characters, but queer and lgbt people. even though eddie and venom are essentially canonically dating in the comics, I know that this is not going to happen in the marvel movie series.
why, you ask?
I want you to look back a couple years and remember the amazing spiderman movies, starring andrew garfield and emma stone. part of the reason the series wasn’t continued is related to what happened at the end of the movie, but the other part of it is that andrew garfield offhandedly made a comment that he wouldn’t mind making spiderman’s next love interest a man.
when pressed, he admitted it would be awesome to have spiderman be canonically pansexual. but his words quickly reached the writers and producers, and eventually got to stan lee, who was NOT happy about the idea of making one of marvel’s most beloved comic book super heroes canonically anything other than straight, going so far as to suggest that spiderman is “contractually obligated” to remain white, cis, and heterosexual.
stan lee’s ugly, bi- and panphobic words–”one sex should be enough for anybody”–followed by andrew garfield’s resignation from the series, eddie brock’s past love interest evidently being anne, and lee’s brief cameo in the 2018 film, confirm my belief that the budding, comic book romance between eddie and venom will most likely be stomped into the dirt on screen in order to pave the way for a smoothly sailing cis, white, heterosexual ending to this series.
for as long as the majority of the action movie making industry actively participates in or complies with these bigoted beliefs, we won’t be seeing many superheroes that deviate from the typical “white cishet males only” formula. a superhero might be a woman, but she won’t also be disabled. a superhero might be gay, but they won’t also be transgender.
the belief that a person can only be marginalized in one way, or one way at a time, as though there’s a limit to how much you can claim society has shoved parts of your identity to the sidelines will only serve to harm minorities within minorities, while still catering to the idea that only white cisgender heterosexual men are truly capable of playing superheroes. this tokenization and over-simplification of marginalized identities is getting outdated fast, and if the industry refuses to change things, incoming queer directors and casts will most likely take their business elsewhere.

Things that are actually disgusting:
Wanting to rape a dead person
Wanting to rape or groom children
Wanting to rape an animal
Wanting to rape anyone
Wanting to watch/spy on people having sex without their consent
Wanting to have sex/perform kinks or other sexual acts in front of the general, unconsenting public
Things that aren’t disgusting or even comparable to anything mentioned above:
A boy/girl/enby wanting to kiss another boy/girl/enby
A boy/girl/enby wanting to be intimate with another boy/girl/enby
