so how does the plant interactions work? do you fight the plants? is there a secret ending? is there also a big secret regarding the two scientists?

the human body cant handle the raw magic flowing through the underground so it begins to sprout plants to try and acclimate it (the body) to its surroundings. And no secret endings and no the scientists dont have any secrets. There was no reason to run the determination experiments.

WELCOME TO THE OASIS!!!

Hello everyone! Welcome to the dedicated Botanitale AU blog! An undertale AU centered around the beauty of plants and botanical life!

Below the cut is a story overview detailing the general universe along with the outlining of game mechanics if there was a game to be made. I hope you drop a follow and I look forward to posting in the future. Now

Let the show begin

GENERAL UNIVERSE

In Botanitale there was never a war between humans and monsters and the monsters were never banished to the underground thus resulting in many differences in this monster society. Instead the monsters live in a semi underground, magically protected, mini society about three times bigger than the regular underground.

The “underground” in this AU has a wide expanse of different flora and climates spanning from the english garden of the ruins to the tropical paradise of the hotlands. 

lets begin the overview of said climates and their flora:

THE RUINS

-Less of a ruins and more of a beautiful english rose garden filled with gorgeous rose bushes that wind their way into a series of mazes and paths

-A little bit unkept but thats apart of its charm

-Many back path ways

-The most natural light out of any sector of the “Underground”

-This is where our journey begins and we are greeted by “The twins”, Chara and Asriel

SNOWDIN

-A warm cozy town with lush evergreen forests filled with little fungi patches and log houses

-A wonderful homey feel

-Grillbys is an “Underground” hot spot ((hehe))

-This is where you meet the first of the skeleton brothers, Sans the comic, at one of his stalls, selling some mushroom stew

WATERFALLS

-Obviously, a waterfall, but with towering trees that have long flowing leaves that swing in the cool breeze. The riverside is lined with glowing bright flowers of every shade that dance in the sunlight and glow in the night. 

-Monster families having fun and playing as far as the eye can see

-There is a blue rabbit on the snowdin side of the waterfalls selling coffee with adorable designs (that give +2 hp if appreciated)

-Here we meet the second skeleton brother, Papyrus, tending to the gardens at the hotlands end of the waterfalls, and just after we pass him we meet Undyne.

-We first meet Undyne as she is delegating jobs to the land care-takers 

HOTLANDS

-A tropical paradise with the second most amount of natural light in the whole “Underground”. With plush grass and white sandy beaches this place is the biggest tourist spot for Monster kind.

-Many couples can be seen strolling through town and there is a school about a five minute walk from the beachside.

-Around the middle of the underground you hit METTATONS COCKTAIL BAR, a place where couples go to spend the night watching in house entertainment and get served by an orange cat that hates his Job. (which seems fair as he seems to be the ONLY employee)

-Here we meet Mettaton, the shining star of the “Underground”, broadcasted on every television and radio station. Star of reality T.V, Soap operas, cooking shows and even the news.

-After making our way through the bar we come across a beautiful towering laboratory with a glimmering white exterior, covered head to toe in vines and flowers.

-After entering you meet the royal botanists, Dr. W.D Gaster and Dr. Alphys and they introduce you to the core. It lies just inside the palace and it is a giant flower bud. It’s the source of all the undergrounds power, magic and life.

THE PALACE

-The palace however does not seem to hold the same energy as the outside world, theres a heavy sadness and silence that thrums through the air

-You meet Queen Toriel and King Asgore, kind rulers of the underground.

-In the throne room the floor is covered in a thick blanket of vines and flowers, all different colours but each one complimenting the other.

GAME MECHANICS

-Once you (the player) has fallen into the underground you grow a small sprout on your head

-As you move throughout the game you are given a series of decisions that test your purity of heart, every character you have an adventure or connection with is put in a perilous situation and you have the option to save or abandon them 

-If you chose to save, plants where you walk glow a little bit brighter, however more sprouts and flowers begin to grow forth from your skin, resulting in you taking damage

-If you chose to abandon, plants where you walk seem to wither and die. If at every chance you have you chose to forsake, by the time you reach the palace the “Underground” is in ruins, all the beautiful plant life is gone and the magic that once flowed through it is gone.

SAVE ENDING

-When you reach Asgore and Toriel your body has been overrun with plants, vines fill your veins and your vision blurs as you reach out for help and you are given a choice, to become apart of Asgores flower garden, becoming a part of something beautifully tragic or accept Toriels proposal and become a monster, however you will never be able to leave the underground, never to see your family again...

ABANDON ENDING

-Your sins have followed you all the way through the underground, leaving destruction everywhere, you pass through the palace and make your way to the core, you reach out a trembling hand and it wilts under your touch and the screen cuts to black. You walk back home...
