A Book Rant From Someone Who Hardly Reads

Alrighty, I finished reading "When The Moon Hatched" and I loved it. I hadn't read in a while but this really helped me get out of my years of not reading.

For anyone interested in reading the book do be aware this is a book that contains spice.

The prologue to the book is just so fascinating and it really pulled me into the book by explaining the lore of the creators which is just essentially kinda like the gods of this book. The prologue alone is most definitely my favorite part of the book.

We follow the fmc Raeve who I genuinely thought was a badass. I think the only thing that really frustrated me about her was the fact that she was constantly pushing people away (which is fine but it felt a wee bit annoying at certain points)

Now the mmc is just chefs kiss. I love Kaan Vaegor and how absolutely AMAZING he is. I knew man was fine from the moment he made his first appearence in the book in page 11, chapter 1. if I continue I will not stop

honestly loved the journey that Sarah A. Parker takes the readers on cause I just loved imagining the different locations. I think my favorite area in the book that we got to take a look at was The Burn. it was such a lively location that if I could visit anywhere in any book, it would be the burn. However I do recognize that that may change considering I am only now getting back into reading.

Ok... I am not one to write reviews on movies and stuff but I gotta for this one.

Your Monster is honestly great... to an extent.

It started off good and I honestly loved it for the majority of the movie, and like towards the middle end when monster disappeared for a bit i sobbed, like actually sobbed.

But towards the end it really lost it's touch.

Like she gets on stage as a means to sabotage her ex cause she's pissed at him for possibly cheating on her during their relationship and it just so happened to be with her ex best friend. She's also pissed that the lead role was given to someone else when she was the one promised that role.

Also the ex is just a huge dick. Like dude breaks up with her in the hospital right after she finds out she has cancer.

Anyways in a fit of rage the monster comes back and I'm so excited to see him again (sad because there's like 8 more minutes left in the movie) and he comes out and killed her ex.

But no. He doesn't. She does. WHY? CAUSE MONSTER IS JUST SYMBOLISM FOR HER ANGER

Now listen. Nothing wrong with Sometimes symbolism but like, I'm kinda tired of the whole "they weren't real to begin with" trope. Don't get me wrong, when done correctly it can be amazing but I wanted a real romance, like I wanted monster to be reeeeal.

Now yeeeah at the beginning of the movie it does say "based on a trueish story" so I should have known but I just wanted a really cute monster romance.

Anyways stilled loved the movie despite the ending and if I ever rewatch it I will be stopping the movie after their cute little coupley montage.

A half orc bard named Talus who plays plays the fiddle

A sorceress named Mary who's into half orcs that play the fiddle

But I have no silly quests, nothing to carry along the sillys. Hell, im still trying to figure out how to keep the ball rolling for the main quest
