“What are you getting?” Lydia asked.

“A one shot latte with vanilla.” 

Lydia furrowed her eyebrows, with a comical concern. “After the day we’ve had. Really?”

“That’s my usual.” Kori said matter of factly, with a warmth making its way to her cheeks. 

“Could I get a one shot latte with vanilla, an americano, and a double espresso?” Lydia ordered at the till, her voice and posture commanding as ever. 

“Who’s that third drink for?” Kori asked quietly, leaning Lydia’s way. “That’s my usuals.” Lydia said in playful imitation. A wide eyed smile creeping onto her face. It looked good on her.
