Giant Grant Games doing a retrospective on Star Craft II: Wing of Liberty made me not only like Tychus Findlay but actually tear up cause he not only gives Jim Raynor the choice to either save Kerrigan or him, he darn well knows that Jim will always choose Kerrigan. He chose death before betraying a friend for his own freedom.

And Grant is correct that WoL is more Tychus story than Raynor's. He gets the development, he is in the trailer, he is the one most associated with liberty by playing rebel in a walking prison cell that could kill him instantly if he does not fulfill his secret mission, and in the end he chooses to go out on his own terms instead of living or dying at Mengsk's whim.
