Far too hot here lately to be able to paint much, due to paint drying while moving the brush 🥵🥵🥵🥵 So I've decided to paint small items for my next project (after my kitchen) It's an outside Moroccan area which will house the BBQ, outside adjacent to my kitchen. I love, love, love this little gadget from #frenchic It's a tin & pot opener but can be used for all sorts of things when your painting. I always have to use this to open my paint, waxes, crackle etc but also use it to scrape, take out nails, get dried paint from around tin lids, oh All sorts of things. They are strong, you can put keys on it, thread it through to pop it around your neck or through your apron. Kitchen cookbook cupboard has an aged look going on. Raised stencilling, (imperfect of course) , easy crackle, & paint adding layers of texture. Prepping this cupboard was exhausting & painnful Washed, washed & washed in sugar soap, sanded, then sealed with finishing coat. First coat of #frenchic Cool Beans from the Al Fresco range, looking scarey,, but I want it to look old French country so I'm adding texture & crackle so if some of the dark comes through it should be a bonus. My next piece This cabinet had gorgeous leaded stained glass doors but they were too far damaged. So I've taken out the leaded glass. I'm going to wash, seal then paint the cupboard & shelving then add chicken wire to the doors I don't know what colour yet but it will house my cookery books & be part of my new kitchen diner.
