Love community and connecting people. Spend my time podcasting, exploring open source and enjoying life in Portugal. I love to laugh and often share my sarcastic humor. My glass is pretty much half-full all the time.

So everyone wants to do a podcast. It's simple. You want to do one because you like to hear the sound of your own voice. 3 months later I ask you if you still enjoy listening to the sound of your own voice. You say yes. you are on your way....

I have spent a lot of time trying to focu on what I wanted to talk about here on Tumblr.
Since I spend all my time doing a series of podcast shows about WordPress, WooCommerce and Open Source, well, that just seemed natural.
But it never quite fit for Tumblr.
I see all the creatives on here doing cool stuff. Wish I could draw worth a damn or play an instrument. Thought about getting back into photography, but I got stuck in rabbit hole looking to replenish my photo equipment.
Then it dawned on me. Podcasting. Sure, it's nothing you haven't already seen here, but this will be my focus. I am starting to do tips on bobwp.com and this could be my second platform. Why podcasting? Been doing it for 10 years. Have done over 8 different podcasts. Now producing a channel of 12+ shows. So whether you like it or not, that is what will be happening here. You can even subscribe to my Tumblr blog, bobwp.blog.
Also if you need a good laugh, will be starting to do some video podcasting in 2025. I'll share all my screwups.
And trust me, I have a lot I can share. I not only walk the talk, but have made every mistake you can think of in production. So I'm sure I'll have a few nuggets to share. Plus I'm sure there will be some odds and ends thrown in around community, cats, weird thoughts I have... whatever. What do you think @zingring @photomatt ... any hope for me here? Or anyone else that may land on this... ?

This is so cool. On our morning walk along the ocean we noticed this shining light. Although it wasn't a light. It was hard, colored plastic and when the sun is out and rising, it glows showing you the direction to the sun shining.

My Podcasting Journey, Maybe It Started with a Radio
Well, I thought a good way to kick off my podcasting series is with a bit of context on my own podcasting journey. Not my life journey or business journey, as that would be way too much for any one soul. Also this will give me something to work on for the About Page here on this site. The radio I am guessing my interest in audio first started with the transistor radio. I have had different…

Patience is a Virtue, But Not on Social
In the last week or so, due to various reasons I rather not go into, a pseudo-exit to the social platform Bluesky has been happening. I have seen this myself particularly in the WordPress community, but it goes across the board. Over the last 2-3 months I have been studying social even more and looking at various strategies that individuals have attempted. A lot of this was done due to my own…

How I Organized a Workshop for 147 People to Explore the Future of Commerce
In all my life, I attended exactly one large-scale workshop that felt like a productive use of my time. It was a coding session at WordCamp Europe 2019 in Berlin. When I proposed running a workshop on the future of commerce at our WooCommerce Division Meetup this year, I expected it to be a relaxed, magical, creative discussion with ±10 of my Woomattician friends somewhere close to a pool bar in…

A New Look at BobWP
You just might think this looks like a good, old fashioned blog.
In my meandering attempt to bring this blog back to life as a new blog, the first design/theme I chose caught my eye. Simple. Big letters. No images. Aside from the oversized text, more or less a journal. But each time I visited by site, it began to gnaw at me more and more. By this I mean the design. What was chosen on a rather quick whim, now had worn out its short life. Back to the…

Daily Writing Prompt 31, What Did I Learn? Now What?
Last day of my daily blogging with writing prompts.
Okay, I admit I am cheating a bit here. On September 30th, I promised that I would do a post each day of October based on the Daily Writing Prompt I find on my homepage as I am hosted at WordPress.com It started the first day with the question, What Skill Would You Like to Learn? From that day on I kept up with it and did one each day of this month. So now to answer my two questions which are…
