just waxing poetic about how much i’ve loved A Dragon’s Weakness (and your other ST fics)! the effort you put into crafting it is so evident — everyone is characterized so well, and your language is beautiful. vessel’s multidimensionality is PERFECT!

I need for you to know that I have never been so utterly excited and engaged with a fic in my entire fanfic career (and brother I am old) than I am with A Dragon’s Weakness.

I had today off, you uploaded every glorious chapter, and then AO3 went down for maintenance. But I’m being really brave about it (I am crashing out so fucking hard).

The vast array of emotions I feel reading this fic is unparalleled. Every character is written with such beauty and consistency, I am absolutely tweaking not being able to finish it right now, but I need you to know WHAT YOU’VE DONE TO ME

Ao3 has the most ridiculous timing!! How far did you get before the crash!?!?!?!

Let me start by offering my sincerest gratitude for such a lovely message. This means more than you will ever know. I spent the last 7 or 8 weeks pouring my heart into this fic, and I was so nervous about posting it. So, thank you!!!!

This literally just happened to me!

And they are REGISTERED users!!!!

just woke up and almost got scammed before i even had my coffee soooo good morning to me i guess 😭😭

someone left a comment on AO3 on the blessed are the ones who sin fic saying they were a “comic artist” and wanted to turn the fic into a comic. gave me their IG and Discord. and of course i got super excited. who wouldn’t?? but then i did what any normal, slightly paranoid, law-student would do… and reverse image searched their posts. and SURPRISEEEE (not really): literally every post on their IG was stolen from other artists. like completely lifted. nothing was theirs.

i kept chatting just to see how far they’d go and they sent me a google doc “script” that was LITERALLY just my fic with prompts fed into chatGPT to make it look like a comic script. and THEN asked me to pay them $50 in advance for a commission 💀 so yeah. i called them out. they made stupid excuses and started sending me comics that still weren’t theirs to make themselves “believable”

moral of the story? the internet is FILLED with scammers, and it’s genuinely gross to see people trying to take advantage of excited writers who just want to see their work come to life. like, exploiting someone’s passion for money and faking talent?? disgusting.

also, AI is scarily good at pretending to be human, but girl i’ve been online too long. i’m a fake blonde but i’m not stupid 😘

be safe out there, babes, especially fanfic writers. protect your work and trust your gut.

She held his gaze, something darkening in those bewitching eyes of hers. His fingers curled, readying to feel the warmth of her in his grip, longing to slide against her skin.

“No,” she said softly but firmly.

His eyes widened, his imaginings ripped out from beneath him. “No? So, you can touch me, but I can’t return the favour?”

She shook her head, a slight smirk teasing her lips. She leaned towards him, her soft warmth pressing against his chest. His fingers curled into the cushions he lounged against, desperately clinging to the closest thing they could find lest they betray him and reach for her anyway. 

“You started this game, Vessel,” she said, her voice low, soft, and utterly dangerous. Her mouth lingered so close, his gaze drawn to the temptation of it. “Don’t tell me you're breaking already?”

“No gaps,” he said quietly. “Paint as low as you can.”

“Are you sure you don’t want to do this bit?”

Her eyes flicked across the v of his hips and the trail of thickening hair that disappeared beneath his waistband. It felt sinful, naughty. That frisson of heat danced and beckoned. He shouldn’t be enjoying this, but behind his facade, he was lapping up every second.

“This is what you’re being paid for,” he reminded her. “Keep going. My face still needs to be done and touch-dry before I put the mask on. No time to dither over it.”

“Yes, boss.” Her little huff made his lips twitch. The bite in her words was just too delicious.

She leaned down, carefully working the brush as she tried to avoid getting too much paint on his trousers. Her fingers trembled slightly, and he got a kick out of her reaction, his pendulum of arousal swinging back to appreciate the possibility that he unnerved her. Combined with the torturous slide of the brush over very sensitive flesh, he had to turn and stare at the wall, reminding himself that she was off limits.
