District Heroes On Display

The recent unveiling of the District Heroes billboards has made these Panem iconics simply larger than life! The enormous posters debuted all over Panem and are featured in some of the most populous areas of the Capitol and districts. This series is part of the “One Panem” initiative launched by President Snow and the Capitol Ministry of Information to bring awareness to our districts and commend their commitment to this great country.

We sent one of our in-house reporters, Natasha Svedsen, to interview passersby and gauge their reactions. Local socialite Franco M. says, “I absolutely adore them, especially the one covered in ink, yum!” Meanwhile a young stylish couple from the west end had this to say, “The heroes are an absolutely inspiration, it almost makes us want to pick up and move to 4.“ Capitol citizens have been leaving flowers and baubles next to these icons as tokens of gratitude for their dedication. In fact, the billboards have proven to be quite important to top advisors in the Capitol, as many are under constant surveillance by Peacekeepers.

The launch of the billboards coincides with the Caesar Flickerman’s highly-anticipated interview with the heroes. Tickets to be in the live audience sold out in minutes and the event turned out better than anyone could imagine. the first time Freyja and Francis spoke. Well, she spoke. 8:30 AM on a Tuesday, 1997. He was waiting for his dad in the front yard before school, she was coming home looking half-dead, as usual. He dropped some marbles he was fiddling with and one rolled out onto the path where Freyja was walking by.

Winter of 1977, Glasgow - waiting to get bundled into the car to grandma’s to stay after the Bathtub Incident. The “Paddington” bear wasn’t an actual Paddington bear, but a regular teddy with homemade clothes and old gum boots.

day 9 - struggling with something (x)

summer of 1984, Loch Eynort.

Struggling to read the last book Jacob was reading before he disappeared, Dune by Frank Herbert. Half the time was spent flicking between the story and the glossary pages, and keeping up with the plot and characters was perhaps a bit too hard for her 10 year old self. This is also when she received her Hogwarts acceptance letter.
